@knukken - this event runs to Sunday night (07/17/16 midnight London time...I think)
Safe travels - make it home safely and into your simulator to start laying down some stage times!!!

Alright, time to attack the snow, I hate the snow.
Edit:first stage and problems already, though I am currently the fastest subaru

I knew I would suck at Sweden so I kept a tally of all my crashes. That came to 11 spins and 3 rolls. Apart from that it wasn't too bad.
Rules for Jump Competition:

Simply submit a clip of yourself going over the designated jump. Please use the third person chase camera, so it will be easier to judge the distances. Feel free to use slow motion as well.

How to upload: simply watch the replay, or at least watch it until you finish the jump. Press the share button. Upload video clip. Then you will be able to trim the video; all I need is the jump, so the videos don't need to be very long. If you haven't already, you will need to allow your PS4 to use your YouTube account, which is as simple as signing into your YouTube account. Title the video as (rally name here) jump contest. Once it has been uploaded, simply copy the URL and when on GTP press the film looking button and paste the URL there.

For rally Sweden, the designated jump is early on stage 5, Norraskoga. It is marked with a large blue arch, can't miss it. Good Luck Everyone!

(the same stage is run in the reverse direction on stage 1, submissions from that direction will not count.)

My 'entry':

The jump on the previous stage gave more airtime but is less challenging because its on a straight:

Sweden has been God awful. Not getting a jump clip because I got a penalty over it, and I'm pretty sure I'm not scoring any points.

It's all about the challenge.;)

The one on stage 5 reminded me a bit of Collins crest, hence why I chose that one.

Rally report after SS3:

Stage 1 went well for me, managed to find a comfortable pace and concentrated on staying away from any snow banks. The weather changed for SS2 making the stage feel very slippery but again found a good pace, unfortunately on the straight leading up to the flying finish the car jumped and landed slightly off the road where the snow dragged it in further. I lost about 5 seconds regaining the road. The snow was still falling for SS3, a very fast stage, which I decided to drive a little bit too cautiously and lost another 0.9 seconds off my lead.
I think I will have to start pushing in the final stages.

Yeah.... I missed the jump completely, had a total disaster on the last 3 stages, embarrassing... For some reason I continually got explosive snow banks which led to me being upside down or back to front or severely damaged,

Next event in Finland could be interesting, I normally get a few degrees off on a jump, and crashes straight in a tree  and with a long jump contest it could be highly deadly :nervous: was a bit on the edge on the sweden jump as well^^

Think I will have to try and tune my car for all the jumps and bumps, so I hopefully finish in one piece.

To anyone driving the Integral - are you guys using the default set-ups in Sweden. I've been trying t find a sweet spot, but I can't for the life of me correct the massive understeer...hence why I haven't posted any times yet. Anytime that I think I've got a good set up, I find it works only for certain parts. Fixing the understeer seriously takes away from my high speed stability, and when I try to fix that I end up understeering in the "slower" sections.

Personally I just use the default setup as I haven't got a clue where to start when it comes to tuning the cars. I really need to do some research on the matter

I think you're right. I'll put down some stage times tonight.
As a Canadian...I wanna do well in the snow and not embarrass myself and maintain some self-respect :sly:

I drove the Delta but have never looked at the tuning menu. For all I know I could've been racing on slick tyres.

Rally Report after SS6:

SS4, All went well enough on this stage although I found it hard to judge distances in the mist. Managed to add another 3.6 seconds to my lead.
SS5, Night time and falling snow proved to be fairly hard to see through in places and ended up making a mistake over a small jump which cost me a hunk of time to regain the road. From being 8+ seconds in the lead I was almost 2 seconds behind!
SS6, Decided, as this was the power stage, to throw caution to the wind and went for it. Two slight excursion of line caused me some worrying moments but came out of the stage with a 14 second lead. I'm more than pleased with that.

Damn I am easily distracted.. I started playing Gat Outta Hell because it was free ps4 game on ps+. Now I am going on a road trip leaving Friday morning and coming back Sunday night.

Wish I had a permanent set-up, sometimes I am just lazy and don't feel like pulling the wheel stand and chair out of the closet.. I want to make time to get this rally in before I leave, hope I get it done.

That's one thing I'm lucky with, we have a spare room which is the office /my game room and the wheel etc is set up ready to go.

Aaaaargh seems like the Dirt Rally league website has gone down. Hope they don't lose all of our stage times :banghead::ouch:

@Dice73AF I'm not tuning either. Haven't had time to try it yet.

As a Norwegian I like to do well in snow stages as well but the roads I'm driving on are usually either good or a lot worse  they're more similar to monte Carlo surface

The Monte Carlo analogy is a good one. Our conditions are quite similar...or exactly like you said, FAR worse :)

I hope not for everyone who's posted times!! That'll be frustrating.

Site is back up, times are still there, no worries.

I had an OK rally Sweden. I couldn't match the speed of GOTMAXPOWER & ICH-Motorsport who were on another level, so at the moment I'm happy being third. Used the cossie this time since no one seems to use/like it. Definitely not regretting my choise, the car has a good good balance on snow and it was an enjoyable run.

I do have set ups for Germany, Monte Carlo & Finland. Finland still needs some tweaking, as it's similar to the tarmac set ups and while it's great for the speed of Finland, I'm bouncing too much over some of the bigger jumps as it's a little tight. But yeah, lowering the car and stiffening the suspension and anti-roll bars for both Germany and Monte Carlo work well.

For Sweden I keep hot lapping to get into a rhythm, but it's been frustrating as I can't seem to get through a stage without being manhandled by a snow bank or two...or ten ;-) Meh, I think I'm psyching myself out...I just gotta do it!! :gtpflag:

Some day I will do the same when I have room. Wife and I are living cheap and saving for the future so space is limited.

Anyways.. I got my stuff out last night then did the rally this morning. I decided to play it a bit more safe and did OK. Better than I expected but more mistakes than I would like, still need more practice to be consistent.
