CRAP Commandments (Racing rules and Etiquette):

    Subjects! (peasants and concubines)

I have added a bit of very important text to the CRAP Commandments. Please read, enjoy and live your CRAPpy lives accordingly.

    By order of his magnificence
    King JohnSchoonsBeard ;)

    CRAP Commandments
    (Racing rules and Etiquette)

    0. BEFORE we even start racing we need to respect each other on and off the virtual track (on Gtplanet and PSN chat). It can't be stressed how important this is. Respect other opinions, apologise yourself where necessary, accept others' apologies.

    1. Deliberate and/or repetitive corner cutting is forbidden. Part of 2 wheels, on a 4 wheel car ;) should be inside the track boundaries (normally white lines). If you gain an advantage by exceeding the track limits simply give it back.

    2. If you come off the track re-enter with care by looking to ensure the track is clear (look left, right, back and mini-map are your friend).

    3. Rage quitting the lobby is prohibited. If you have to leave the race early, please inform the race steward about the reason.

    4. Dangerous and reckless driving is prohibited. Mistakes happen but if you think you may have caused an accident allow the "victim" to regain their place ahead of you even if that means other drivers also pass you. Better to offer to give back a position in error and be told to carry on than to have the other driver feel silently aggrieved.

4b. It should go without saying that deliberate crashing or ramming is absolutely against our principles. If you think you might be petulant enough to do it in CRAP then please shut the door on your way out, you're not welcome here.

    5. When being lapped you may stay on the racing line (this is more like older Formula 1 rules) but do not intentionally block the overtaking cars (see 6). Unlapping yourself is of course allowed. The driver of the overtaking car(s) is responsible for making the pass without incident. It's easier to see where you're going than where you've been. If it isn't then you're pointing the wrong way.

    6. When on a straight you're allowed one change of direction before lining your car up for the next corner so no weaving to and fro to stop an overtake or avoid a competitor getting a draft/tow.

    7. If the front of the car behind is level with the front door (or driver's head) of the car ahead going into a corner then adequate track space needs to be left for the car behind throughout the corner. If the car behind isn't alongside they may need to back out and wait until the next opportunity.

    8. Be aware of your surroundings and other drivers. Use mirrors and look left/right to see your opponents. Treat them as you want to be treated (sado masochists need not apply)

    9. Dive-bombing, ramming and breaching the pit blend line are prohibited.

10a. Overtaking without incident is the main responsibility of the overtaking car as they have a better view of the other car.

10b. HAVE FUN AND ENJOY YOURSELF :)

    Press report 1
Reallyenjoyed watching the race. Thanks to all who made it happen.

Both my in cam boys (nitro and shooter) were off during the first lap. They were 9th and 10th after a trip to the pits. Both started charging though. I also enjoyed watching
ham_ilton and @VicrsVF1 who were also streaming.

Nitro got harshly Disqualified on lap 30 after slowing down when going wide at corner 1 (I think).

The race started out clear then started raining and with brief interludes the weather was generally filthy in the late evening gloom and into the night. Well done everyone.

@DropBuckets seemed to pit 3 times within so many laps at one point but I might have misremembered that. Dodgy pit crew if you ask me or he was listening too much to @ty2

Congratulations to @knukken who was the barn storming winner. He was the polesitter but got overtaken off the line. He took the place back sweetly on the first lap and didnt look back from there although with another few laps Hamilton might have been biting at his heels.

@HammyMansell got disconnected due to an Internet problem. Ban the Missus from the net ;)

Alright guys, can we start getting a sign up list going with the following:

    GTP/PSN ID:
    Car class:

We don't care which cars people use as long as they are in the LMP1/GT3 classes. Just need this so we get an idea how many will be in each class.

I fancy this, am undecided which class though. will do some messing around in the different classes and decide soon. So many cars, Although could do with more for GT class. Chevy Camaro's and Corvettes, Ferrari's, lambo's, GTR's.
Met allstyles briefly last night, We took the Merc GT3 a spin round the green hell. Good fun. Be online shortly for an hour or so for some hot laps if anyone fancies joining? Might try these LMP's out actually. Endurance coming up in a while. Need to figure out a few things...... Try tuning.:dopey: I am not great at it. I know there is a database we can get settings from but I like to try myself. But think I am getn to grips with it. See you guys online?:gtpflag:

I prefer the LMP1's to the GT's if I'm honest. Brakes are better and they're a bit easier to drive.

Only thing you have to be mindful of when your in the GT3 is when the LMP1's are coming though.

I think ettiqute-wise we'll have to go with the old flashy lights when your passing back markers so they are aware you're there. @JohnScoonsBeard it might be worth adding that to the OP so everyone is aware.

Will do if you want. With penalties off (obviously still no corner cutting allowed) the blue flag system won't be in place. However you could just make the lapping cars (whether LMP1 or GT3) have to overtake as if they were on the same lap. It makes the racing closer and stops mollycoddling the fastest drivers. Wish they'd do it in F1. Let me know what you want to do though as you might not agree with me. I'm beginning to sound like an old fart.

That'll work, obviously if your the leading pack it would be nice to move over but as long as there aren't accidents it's all good.

I was going to suggest the following for lobby options:

    - Penalties off
    - Mechanical failures off
    - Full damage (maybe just performance though)
    - ABS/TCS on

Im still undecided as to which class I am choosing. Had a good run tonight with the GT class so might stick with it. Couple of close races with the crappers. Most fun I have had so far on P cars. Would have been good to have more racing though. Drama's in every race I think. I spun out three times in last race at24hr. lol .Going to try some LMP cars tomorrow night.
Cheers for the invite tonight lads, Catch you again soon............. In a few hours maybe.:D

Sounds good. Performance impacting is probably going to keep people racing for longer. Thoughts on some AI to flesh out the field? Maybe 70%? Try the track and see. It might be worth doing a trial lobby and ensuring you can set the lobby up correctly to allow at least cars from the 2 different classes can be selected for the same race. Let us know what settings need to be in case you suddenly can't make it. Updating post 1 with what we have so far.

    @fortbo E-Tron is all good, if it's LMP1 it's ok.

One issue with AI is that we'd have to leave the car choice open because we're mixing GT and Prototype, this would mean they could be using anything!

I'm still working that one out. I think it'll be in the region of 90 laps though. Need to run some tests in the GT and P1 to work out the best option.

We are definitely using WEC blue flag rules then? I think it should be stated in the first post.

I think mechanical failures need to be on in order to simulate proper endurance racing so you can't abuse your gearbox and get no consequence.

It's more in case of accidents, losing a wheel can cause massive frustration as well as engine failures. I'm open to having it on if there is a majority.

Also what are you thoughts on blue flag rules? I'm happy with that or fighting but an LMP1 is going to tear up a GT3 so if there's fighting there is a high chance of accidents.

I can see why people would want mechanical failures off. Just thought I would state my preference. I'm happy either way :)

In WEC the car being lapped stays on the the racing line but does not fight. It's the faster car's responsibility to overtake appropriately. I think this works best in multi class racing.

My thoughts exactly, I would suggest that if you see a stack of LMP1's however it's best to get outta dodge just in case they're having a battle.
