I find it funny that Sony and/or Polyphony are basically really intensely encouraging online play period. Now that you get up to 200% bonus credits and experience for logging in consecutive days, you can easily soar to Level 30 or higher in much less time then would be possible if you never went online. In some ways, this in itself is bordering on ridiculous if your one of those who think that Gran Turismo is supposed to somehow emulate real life and/or is a 'simulator' of real life.
I myself, for a variety of reasons spent most of my first 9 months in GT5 without ever getting on line. I think I finished all the way through A-Spec extreme without any online play at all. I even did a couple of the shorter endurance races in A-Spec... Eventually i started doing B-spec, mostly in a effort to get some of the higher quality prize cars. I forget what level B-spec I got to before getting online... I think I got through most of the non-endurance racing prior to getting online much.
Now that there is 200% online bonuses, wow... it seems such a waste of time and energy to run off line. Is this whole online stuff cheating? a exploit? or what? These are basically intended to be mostly rhetorical questions, since the whole thing is bordering on the absurd.
Grinding at Indy seems extremely boring and/or stupid in comparison to running a Enzo once around Le Mans for .3 million credits in under four minutes when you factor in the 200% bonus.
Now, you want real cheap money fast, do some B-spec grinding with a few alts... then get yourself a second PS3, so you can B-spec grind as often as you want... or keep it at GT5 running version 1.05 using a USB and the glitch to permanently borrow cars from yourself and friends... Is this cheating? maybe so, but for someone who wasn't around when you could freely trade as many and any cars you liked, some of these cheats and/or exploits are merely making best use of one's time and resources.
Your all kidding yourself if you really think GT5 is somehow supposed to closely emulate real life racing and/or car collecting.
Oh, and did I mention, I struggle to get in the top 25,000 at any of these online time trials... Now that I think about it, maybe those 25,000 times that are faster then mine, are actually only done by 5000 unique people... wow, that makes me feel so much better.
