CSP Reversed

I am sure there is a way to replace the weight of the motor or the entire motor for that matter.

There probably is a way to upgrade to a larger motor. I think I would like another set of CSP and have a back up. Then I could experiment on one set.:)
For now I'll leave it as is.
 
Cant believe how dumb i feel. My 07 fj cruiser which i have had since june of 06 has a " rigid" gas pedal. I know my previous 2 pick up trucks, wifes old durango,old explorer and curreny sahara have "pivoting" gas pedals.

What would you guys like to see in a standalone mount for hanging csps?
Adjustability, height and angle. Or angle alone?
Width: same as csps or wider on the floor side, say about 50% wider than the csp footprint on the floor.
Footplate length. Same as csp, or longer. 4,6,8 inches longer?

Hardmount points a must for sure.

Just curious.
 
The angle in the last sketch is definitely too steep. I rather want my pedals leaning back more then in a 50 degree angle towards me. Have you tried pushing down on the pedals at that angle?

I experiemented and discussed in my own cockpit thread a long time ago about an alternative and going one better than the tiny motor on the CSP brake pedal.

My solution was simple but I dont think I will implement it myself as I already have more than enough tactile going on my cockpit. Also I will likely use more than one set of pedals so it could of been an issue.
Although my idea will work with any pedals really.

The principle while not working directly via game code is this:

1x Volume slider
1x Attachment to pedal and connect to volume slider (needing some work and thinking)
1x Buttkicker or other tactile device inc amplification
1x Audio source and lead connected to volume input

What is possible is to send a repeating audio signal on a contineous loop (nothing to do with the games audio) to the Buttkicker attached to the pedals. This isnt heard or anything it is used to trigger the tactile. What the volume slider does is mute and then increase the signal strength/volume of the "audio source" which in turn depending on the amount of pedal depression the "Buttkicker/Tactile" rumble will increase-decrease and then mute when the pedal isnt depressed.

I had a good amount of sucess with this idea but it would take a bit of thinking to come up with a good and reliable mechanical way of getting the volume slider and pedals to move in tandem.

I agree, looks to be uncomfortable position. My pedals hang where I can heel to toe and operate the pedals otherwise in a comfortable manner.

Interesting idea, I'll take a look at this later. I am just wondering would this work for any racing game rather then just games where a rumble code was implemented?

Yes. Essentially the tactile would always be set to on but with the volume at mute. As the brake pedal is pushed further down it would adjust a potentiometer attached to the volume comtrols of the tactile source. Harder brake push will give higher volume. Higher volume = more shake baby.

Mr latte, a toothed arm similar to your csr elite throttle and clutch may be the easiest way to implement this.

English is not my native language (its hard for me to substantiate in words) so I tried to explain it in sketches.



You have the pictures well done, but the presented foot is too large. The heel have to be nearby the pivot point of the pedals. I have used your pictures for my PDF, because I haven't found a side view like yours of the pedals in the web. The pedal plate at the inverted pedals in my PDF is in the same angle as at the pedals in normal position, see the comparison picture in my PDF too.

The best solution is the one that fits you better. I don't want to convince you guys about anything.
I had a problem, I solved it (it works like a dream for me), and wanted to show it, just like a proposition, an idea, in case it would be useful for somebody else with a similar problem.:cheers:
