At the same time I only yesterday discussed this with one member that imo each person still needs to do their own individual report the way they want to.

I am not interested in some combined/controlled review that in any way would/could be interpruted as "massaged" or was the word "untrustworthy".
I agree with that concept. One of the cool things was that somewhere Thomas mentioned he wasn't interested in all the testers putting up positive reviews for the wheel if it didn't deserve it. That's a great concept and I hope this idea is still foremost in their minds.

Well the Elite does work with the PS3 so you could still compare the 2 if they are both used with GT5.

However... to me even if they are close when both being tested in GT5, the Elite should win because of the xbox compatibility.
The hard part with testing in GT5 is that, I believe, Fanatec emulates Logitech in GT5, and uses that driver. I felt the DFGT and a G25 and there was some odd behavior. I only tried the T500RS for a very brief period but it didn't seem to have this. I tried them over 1/2 a year ago so this could also have been fixed in one of the last patches. I'm curious to find out how they compare in GT5 but I do agree with another post, that I think the real comparison will take place on the PC.

I'll probably pick up a T500 next year discounted. I like their F1 rim better.
Their F1 rim looked better for sure, but I was really put off by all the decorative knobs on the wheel. Where as the Fanatec F1 wheel is all function and still looks good.

The knobs are not functional?

Dont know the exact number but their are buttons on the Thrustmaster that are decoration only. I don't own one so can't say for certain but I have read that the 5 rotary dials in the center area are there for looks only.

Still a cool wheel but I also like the Fanatec better as it's more functional, has a digital display, and has those very cool adjustable shifter paddles.

The prereview and review videos on ISR covers the button functionality.

Here is a picture from the Thrustmaster Facebook page that shows exactly what you can use (the useable ones are drawn to with red lines of course). So you can see that all the "dials" in the middle are useless.

Guys, does anyone know when Fanatec will start shipping the wheels? I know Thomas said before Christmas but it is still almost 50 days :)

As an educated guess within the next 2 weeks or around the first week of December.
It is important they get them out to customers before Christmas.

The "land/sea" option takes a month approx so that would be too tight and I presume why they are offering courier via plane on these batches.

Rennsport Wheel Stand V2
I got my 2nd stand built, several improvements on the V2 over the original.
Also noticed this V2 has the "Triangle Holes" pre drilled and the CSRE fits straight on without the bracket.

Some people may be considering one so thought Id mention this.

* I do not know if all V2 have the holes pre drilled or if this has only been done on recent batches

I asked this question to Thomas on Thomas Blog:

Thomas, are gonna give us some shipping info on the CSR Elites. All the CSR Elite buyers who paid 40 euro's more would love to have SOME information.

If you are realy flying the wheels in, you could have the first batch in your warehouse by next week already.

Any comment on that please

I will post updates on the shipments.

To be honest I think the Rennsport stand is overpriced and oversize.

For me the delivery of a stand already costing 1200 euros is extra 350 euros making it as expensive as a real second hand car, so it is cheaper to buy a real car and put it in your gaming room :)

I will post updates on the shipments.

Not much of information for me but I'm a patient customer so I won't make useless noise about this.

I'm happy I was given the opportunity to be one of the couple of hundred lucky "bastards" to get the wheel before Christmas :)

You are thinking cockpit, not stand.

You are thinking cockpit, not stand.

I'm going to make a better stand (not personally, going to pay for this) with 5 times less money than this one is, so I think that 10 more pieces of metal and putting those together are not worth the extra 900 euros. The bucket seat is roughly 150-200 euros the most.

Anyway, this is just my opinion, just saying that having it under 1000 euros would make it more attractive.

Looks like I'm holding off on my T500rs buy for now. I need a reason to play FM4 again since I only have the old official wheel for the Xbox. I hope the the ISR Team likes it, especially on GT5. Wow, I would not be surprised if Logitech came out with something next year. Seems like the new generation in racing wheel technology is forming. the T500RS, the CSR Elite, then......what will be next?

CSW of course ;)

Look forward to you getting you CSRE and have your tactile up n running my friend with a report from you.

I think your gaming is about to get a lot more exciting/entertaining.

Looking forward to that as well, today I got the bucket seat - amazing thing, I will post the photos later :)

It is much more rewarding to make the cockpit as I want it and participate in making of it. I will send you some sketches of the cockpit so you can give me your advice regarding the positioning of tactiles and speakers.

Personally I doubt you would see Logitech do anything in regards to a high end wheel......it just doesn't make much business sense for them to make that kind of investment to invest in a niche product when they still have the G27 which still sells very well for them and who's development was paid off ages ago.

I agree. Unfortunately, I can't imagine Logitech releasing a new high end wheel to compete with the likes of the T500 and CSW.

Tom said they will soon sell their products to the Japanese Market. I hope this is soon but I can see the CSR Elite selling for at least 54,000 yen. With today's US exchange rate, that's exactly $700.92.

From Thomas Blog:

We should get a shipping update later this week.

Does this mean that this week Thomas will know when the wheels might be shipped? So they are not yet shipped from China?

It is good that I'm patient :)
