Hey guys, new to the forum here. I've been playing Forza 4 with the Fanatec CSR Wheel and CSR Elite Pedals for quite some time, and frankly it's getting old on me. So, to spice things up a bit I decided to buy a PS3 and a copy of GT5, and after hooking up my rig I noticed something a little funny with the pedals:

Whenever I use the throttle, there is a constant force feedback rumble (intensity increases in direct relation to throttle input). This constant FF is distracting, can't be good at all for the motors and I fear that any prolonged use while this is going on will certainly damage the hardware.

All other FF elements hinting at traction levels are present in the wheel. But like I said, throttle application produces way too much FF "noise". Adjusting the FF levels did not get rid of the problem.

I also encountered this issue a while ago when setting up my rig on PC for Grand Prix Legends. I haven't been able to play that game yet, however when testing out the hardware on my PC I had the same intense throttle FF. At the time I thought that was a test for the FF, but now that it`s occuring with the PS3 it makes me think it`s some quirk...

Anyone encountered this problem? Any tips to fix this will be much appreciated.

If I remember correctly the vibration linked with throttle that you are experiencing is the Sho setting on the wheel. Try turning that down or off completely.

What's odd is that you didn't notice this in Forza, I'm pretty sure it does it there as well. In fact, I think as long as the wheel is in a "mode" like PC, PS3 or XBox, even outside a game, it will do this when pressing the pedal. I believe it's just a fake thing and not FFB from the game.

Anyhow, try the Sho setting out.

Its supposed to happen. Its to simulate the roar of the engine, and such.

Theres an on-wheel setting to get rid of it, but I forget which (I think its SHO).

Think it's ABS mate. You can't have simultaneous Brake and Enginh vibration.

Maybe your on wheel ABS setting is set to off?
Try setting a value of 80 or so and see if throttle vibration goes away.

Ps I'm talking from GT2 experience but it worth a shot.

Thanks guys for the tips. Set "Sho" to 000 and it eliminated the unwanted vibration.

I have noticed this in Forza but very faintly and only when in the upper rpm bands/redlining.

If ABS = off, you get engine vibrations.
If ABS = 100, there's no vibrations.
If ABS > 100, you get vibrations on depressing the brake to set value.
Ex. if set to 90, when you depress the brake to 90% you will get vibrations.

I don't think SHO has anything to do with it, I leave my FF and SHO at 100 all times.
