Maybe Thomas can do that¡¡¡¡
But seriously, I think than my choice with T500 was correct because I Will avoid the bunch of problems that Fanatec wheels give now and then.
Did you have some problem with T500 ?

I have issues with the fan, issues with the attachment of the wheels to the steering column (there is space in how it is attached so you feel sudden jolts every time, especially on 100% FFB), screwing the wheels onto the base is hard as well (hard to get good grip to tighten it), chrome layer on my shifter paddles is bubbling up from the acid in my sweat.

How old is your wheel?

Cap, if you're looking for guarantees that your wheel will never have issues, that's not going to happen. Some T500RS wheels are going to have defects. The important thing is that Thrustmaster takes care of you. If you have an issue under warranty, get it fixed.

Approximately 2-3 months.
I bought it and at the same time joined GTPLANET. So check when I joined here. ;)

I opted for TM because it seems to me that is more plug and play than fanatec, and finally with my limited time to play this is fisrt factor to consider.
I don´t want to install firmwares continuosly, correcting data and so on. I want to sit and drive ...

Not just these two comments but many others about both of these wheels has just about made my mind up. Im sticking with my good old G27. She might not be the latest or greatest, but shes been very loyal and faithful to me. I really thought I wanted one of these new wheels, but I know I dont want the POSSIBLE headaches. Maybe someday Ill reconsider but for now I think Im happy with what I got. I do appreciate all the hard work and honest review eveyone has posted here thanks much. :)

I have to say on a personal note that I would never want to go back to my G25. The fan issue got resolved and the shifters and issue with space on how the wheel is attached, I wanted to wait until I got the CSW here to contact TM. Also this time of year is just too busy for me.

But you still have it with you....(G25) if something goes really wrong , isn´it?

My dad has it now. He is complaining about the gears locking up though. So either the CSW or T500 will go to him at some point in time.

Oh no I dont consider myself slumming it. I got a playseat evo, inverted pedals modded with perfect pedal, new shift knob, buttkicker and tritton pros. :):):) Just was thinking of maybe upgrading. Im just not sure yet if one of these wheels are a real upgrade or not. Having any down time (to me anyway) isnt really an upgrade. From what I can tell its at least a week for either company to APPROVE your defect. Then you start the process of getting the issue resolved. So what maybe 2 weeks or more downtime? For me thats just way to long. I can have my logitech replaced in less than a week. So for now Im going with reliability. Im still wanting one of the csw but only time will tell for reliability on those I guess. I just got caught up in all the new wheel hype I guess. 👍

Thrustmaster send me a new fan to replace myself and I had my issue resolved from sending a mail to me receiving the new fan within a week. Also the fan was just too noisy, which was my only issue. It worked. So no down time here. Also my paddle shifters work like normal, just the chrome is letting loose. Having them replaced wouldn't involve downtime as I'll be able to replace the part myself. Also about how the wheel connects to the base, that's a crappy design issue I think.

So don't assume I had any downtime with the T500, it was just an annoyance nothing more and nothing less.

Thanks for the info good to know. I think I just need to wait and let all the bugs get worked out. Like I said I like my wheel was just looking at that greenier grass is all.

Change of food makes one eat though. ;)

So will you also not drive your car because you heard about some people getting into accidents? Will you not use a cell phone because it could "POSSIBLY" give you brain cancer?

Yeah, I know those examples are over-the-top, but I'm simply illustrating a point. The Fanatec quality issues are largely exaggerated IMO. People who are having problems and upset about it will constantly bring up the problems they had because they want people to feel bad for them. What you won't hear is the people who aren't having problems, and even more importantly, the people who had problems and were satisfied with the way they were treated.

Just the other day I read on the iRacing forums a guy who was having some problems with his Fanatec 911 wheel, he had it for well over a year, and started having some steering and input issues, Fanatec customer support didn't demand he send the wheel back to them first, they sent him a new wheel (without argument), and once he receives the new one he needs to send back the old one. He'll have his new wheel tomorrow I think (as this just happened in the last few days).

A Corvette might be a great car and very reliable, but that doesn't mean you should completely eliminate a Porsche 911 just because it *might* have some problems in the future.

I have no doubt all things have faults. Never implied they didnt. My point is how the problem is resolved. As it stands now I dont like the way either company handles (or at least has handled) these problems. If you think its fine then by all means send your money. I just dont like the current situation so Ill hold on to mine. If and when the issues I dont like are resolved or feel the quality is up to par then Ill send my money. As for the car analogy if I heard a car company tell a customer we need a video of your car not working before will consider fixing it they would never see my money either.

I have had my gt2/ csp since around february. Prior to that i had the carrera/ std pedals.

I have had zero issues with either wheel or pedal set. I have done several long sessions without overheating/ disconnect problems on both. Also when i race at work, my wheel is literally 2 feet from a heater, and those nights i usually got 5-6 hours of driving in over the course of an 8 hour shift. Tho, i no longer bring my wheel to work as it is hard mounted to my rig now.

My rig is all wood, so that may be why i have no disconnect problems.

Are you disconnected people hard mounted? Curious. Have you tried using either neoprene or nylon washers between your wheel and mount and also between mount and bolt heads. This would keep the wheel completely isolated from the mount current wise.

Yeah my entire rig is wood except for my centre console and seat. I've had 4 disconnects in about 20 months and they were all on the same night.

That's because we have car dealers to personally check out the problem. If you called them and said "my car is broken, it makes a funny noise" they aren't just going to say "ok, well, we trust you, so you can go pick up your new car later today." Fanatec is a relatively small company, so the only way they can help you diagnose a problem is through the internet, a video is much more helpful than a statement from the average customer "It's broke."

Well, there goes my theory ;)
