ISR has one advantage over everyone else.. its exposure.

However I think.the fact that the Csr e was on gtp home page kinda out weighs that.

Nah, I don't think exposure to the consumer is any greater anymore with ISR.

Not sure about this but it seems as though Thomas has most Major sim racing forums covered now with beta testers.
They themselves post on multiple forums also.

ISR's advantage, if you could call it that is that they bring it all together.

Chatting with Developers, highlighting the little guys, and getting some great scoops.
I still think they have the Aura that people want exposure on the show.
Still haven't got Kaz though.
GTplanet managed 10 minutes with the elusive one lol.

Just hope it works out. TBH the hiring of Darin has not worked out for whatever reason.
I bet both parties wish they hadn't gone down that route and would have prefered to be as it was.

Everyone loses out.

So how long before Darins "White Knight" cockpit goes back, lol..
I have to say one thing, ISR would not be what it is today if it wasnt for Fanatec giving them constant scoops on the wheels.

One thing that annoys the hell out of me regards ISR is that they never seem to buy stuff themselves? It looks like its all pre arranged sent out products. They have cheap brand TVs etc, basic audio, hell most guys on thesse forums have better? Its not a complaint just an observation.

If I was doing a show like that I can tell you straight up I wouldnt of had to wait a couple of years to get Nvidia to send a triplescreen setup. Out of sheer passion for the stuff Id be wanting a mega cockpit tech den. Projectors 3D, tactile you name it. I dont know for me the show has lost the passion it used to be about. Now its sponsers galore and has just become a conveyor belt for showcasing products they get for naff all and thousands tune in to see so advertisers are happy.

(Just a word from our sponsors, after the break I will continue)

So I was saying the show has become a business model, not to me a fully dedicated show passionate about racing and two guys sharing their hobby with other sim fans. That is what it all started out doing. As for Jessica, eye candy for the boys, shes nice does a good job but I very much doubt shes into sim racing and plays at home on a sim rig on weeknights or weekends. Again just part of building a structure to achieve more viewers, to then attract more sponsers.

The big wheel keeps turning, if however Fanatec and ISR are splitting their friendship then I personally think ISR will lose out more than Fanatec. Could most people watch their shows to see the products and not two guys wearing iracing tops? Err like on just about every show now?

I like Darin but think he should spend much more time in his own forums building those up, that place should be heaving with all the viewers they get. I remember the T500RS launch and arrival of it on their forums. He would rather talk about it on iracing forums "larger audience" than the ISR forums he owns and sorry but that sucks.

btw you get 3 months for the price of 1 guys... :)

Sorry for the off topic apologies on my little drivel...
Have a cookie from my report.

This is "Erika" she has a lovely body but unlike Thrustmaster not only has she got a H.E.A.R.T she also has SOUL!

* You too could find your perfect match for a wheel here. Every week their are hundreds of people that find a new and loving companion they can enjoy time together with.

Darin was objective during the time he worked for Fanatec and now while he longer doesnt work for them is not objective?

I think that this way of thinking is not correct.

As a general rule you may be right. In this specific case it's pointing to the other guys being correct. What's kind of amusing about this is you have to think of what has been said. If he was truly being objective then I see 2 things happening. They would have ended the feud on iRacing and went to PM. Second I don't believe he would have answered Shaun's questions the way he did. An objective person would have seen that it was time to not keep fueling what has happened. All that interview (and recent posts) make me want to do is to find out what was said, and not for gossip reasons before anyone comments on that.

1-Was there any valid concerns that Thomas over ruled maybe for what he thought wasn't a valid reason?
2-Did they have a difference of opinion on something (hardware/ad campaign/business model/support infrastructure) and that just got blown out of proportion?
3-Was it strictly personal?

If there is anything that hovers even in the area of question 1 then yeah I think it should get reposted so that we can evaluate ourselves if it's worth being concerned.

If it hovers around hardware or support in part 2 then again I care, if not then again I don't care.

If it is strictly question 3, then I 100% don't care, and support people not reposting. However from what I read I'm not entirely sure that it was this category.

Would love to know what happened??

Does anyone have access to iRacing forum, and could copy us content of the dispute!?

I don't feel comfortable (I know that sounds lame) copying over posts from iRacing cause they are hidden for a reason. Maybe Darrin will tell his side of things at ISR

I will say this bout ISR guys. They really don't feel like fellow iRacers very much too me. iRacing logs your activity. But they really dont have any. They barely play the sim last time I checked. So that begs the question what sim these guys are playing? I never added them on as friends on my consoles so I cant verify that. But I can say they dont seem to play iRacing. (Okay maybe that was harsh since Darrin last raced on 8-8-11 I was thinking bout Shaun Cole which hasn't played for a year!)

Okay so I have looked at Micheal's posts and although he's very critical of Fanatec he doesn't seem too bad (so to be clear I think I was in the wrong earlier). But I would still like to encourage people to continue to read all the reviews you can if you are trying to decide

And waiting- is always good advice cause the CSW is on the horizon. Plus you can see how CSR-E is over a long period. But if you get it now you'll have a TON of fun. Even Micheal Main says he'd take it over a T500RS

This thread is about choosing a wheel, not about relations between this two guys. Not a problem for me. But I apreciate the work both are doing for sim racing, especially Thomas.
But returning on wheels , if you see the photo above of the rear part of the CSR elite you can agree with me that 6 plastic parts, 8 or 10 screws to assemble all togheter are not durable. With time and use that going to bring problems for sure. Do you imagine yourself driving a BMW with this wheel????????No.

No not a BMW but I honestly and truly imagine myself using this rim on an LMP. It feels so good using it with the Acura HPD-ARX in FM 3 and iRacing 👍

Granted, I've never driven an LMP in real life. But seriously this rim feels more akin to that

My only gripe bout the wheel is the placement of the DPAD. I prefer T500RS's placement. All the other buttons are great too me.

I read, don´t remember where... or maybe on a you tube video.. that the Dpad also Is fragil

Don't forget, the show folds flat and is easy to store away.

Not the Acura HPD ARX-01c. the difference is night and day too my eyes. The avg formula rim has like 29+ buttons while the HPD has less (but hard to tell in this crappy photo). Additionally, formula rims commonly have attached rev limiters with exception to red bull f1s

Granted, it is not a perfect matchup as you can see. But what I am getting at the rim feels like a race car rim too me

That review scared a tonne of people off for some reason.... maybe the didn't read the entire post. I thought it seemed really fair.

If it did have something to do over hardware then it would still be about a wheel and valid. If mods got involved that tends to mean it got personal.

I would have to disagree. the front plate and the entire frame are metal. I grew up in machining and it resembles a CNC machine. All the stability is inside a shell. The wheel is directly bolted to metal, and the fram is metal, and the bracket that bolts to the frame is metal with metal screws. That sounds like a recipe for durability and rigidity to me. I will know better soon so right now I'm only making observations based on pictures.

Michael Main's review at iRacing seemed tough but fair. He seemed to have a lot of positive things to say about the wheel. Non members can see a repost of his review at Michael's company blog: http://www.mainperformancepc.com/Articles.asp?ID=250

Yeah, from those shots it looks like the rear plastic housing isn't structural at all. It's just a finisher. I believe Thomas has mentioned as much. The structural components look like beefy milled aluminum and are tied together with several rods and an end bit. The included Porsche compatible hard mounting bracket ties the two aluminum arms together with the front panel bracket in a triangular formation. If you have a newer ClubSport table clamp or Rennsport Wheel Stand, they also have the new triangular hole pattern. Either way, it looks pretty solid.

To me the weak links is going to be the plastic in the wheel rim. I plan to get a premium wheel rim if Fanatec ever offers one.

Hi guys
I found T500 RS on amazon for 373 €
and T8hrs for 106 € on a local web shop.

Wheel, pedals and shifter for les than 500 €... what should I do??... Wait for fanatec CSW or not???
I think this is the end of the thread¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

Looks like Thrustmaster knows there's a lot of hype about the CSW :sly:
Or it might just be a holiday thing. I would wait for the CSW for these reasons:

-quieter (with similar, if not stronger power)
-CSH and CCS in development
-no cogging
-lighter in weight and higher quality wheel base. (+quick release for wheel changing)

*I chose the CSR Elite since I game on all platforms and not too hardcore on PC, but if I didn't have Xbox....CSW would be on my wait list!

Thanks for your opinion.I´ve already ordered the TH8RS because of the price. Couldn´t wait.
But yes , for the CSW/T500 wheel choice better to see a comparison and review first.

I was initially fairly interested in the T500, but when I saw that the beautiful Ferrari F1 wheel addon is 50% fake and non-functional that was a deal-breaker. I hate when they do stuff like that and make things appear genuine and functional but then they don't even work.

Recently in this thread there has been a lot of reference to a private forum rif between Darrin and Thomas. Can anyone give a brief summary of what the heck is going on behind the scenes here without violating iRacing forums via copy/paste.

I don't post much, but have been an avid reader here and it's difficult to follow this discussion when you don't really have a clue what folks are referring to. So if it's not too much trouble, can someone shed a light of clarity on this matter?

Just look in the main Fanatec thread. We just all agreed there we would just forget about it and leave it be though as there are more important matters then nitpicking on someone's actions. So I would ask you kindly to not mention it, although I can not force you from not doing so.

Honestly it's not important enough to need to be mentioned. It was essentially a pissing match between two high-profile people in the sim racing world, nothing more.
