I was initially fairly interested in the T500, but when I saw that the beautiful Ferrari F1 wheel addon is 50% fake and non-functional that was a deal-breaker. I hate when they do stuff like that and make things appear genuine and functional but then they don't even work.

I'm not sure if it's 50% but you're not wrong. I was really considering the T500R when I heard about the F1 wheel and shifter. I was simply going to swap off my wheel and use that for PC. That wheel actually turned me off because of the entire middle section being fake. I don't get why they do that either. Why not just figure out a cool graphic and logo to put there and leave it at that?

29 programmable functions on the wheel is already great with:
- 2 Rotary Encoders
- 2 D-Pad
- 3 Metal Switches
- 12 Actions buttons
- 2 Paddles

If not enough you can also buy ROSO F1 Wheel (630,00 €). This wheel is now officially full compatible with T500 RS:

The first rim is a bit misleading as to how much actual functionality it has.

The 2nd rim I know nothing about. Is that 630 for the entire unit with base and pedals or just the rim?

Yeah, it does have a fair amount of programmable functions, however I still don't like the fake stuff in the middle. I like everything to be a certain way for a good reason, and having esthetically pleasing but non-functional switches/encoders is something I couldn't deal with.

The other wheel would be nice if I only raced open wheelers. But I already have a SLI-Pro and wouldn't want to deal with the headaches of programming two. Also, that's about $800 US I think, which is too much for just a wheel attachment IMO.

Just ordered my T500RS. The amazingness of the current deal is crazy.

So now it looks like:
-CSW is amazing and I sell my T500RS on ebay for $425 and lose nothing
-CSW is amazing and I return my T500RS to amazon for a 5% restocking fee ($19)
-T500RS is good enough and I don't mind the mediocre pedals
-I find some extra cash and get both

You'll enjoy the wheel. I'm sure. At least I do every day still. ;)

Personally I would of gone for the costco deal. You get the TH8 and if you are dissatisfied anytime in the future you take it back for full refund.

//(I took a blu ray player back after a year when it stopped working)

We were racing tonight and between races the CSR stopped responding properly. The pedals still worked but we no long have proper control of the car in the centre 90 degrees. Has anyone else ran in to this?

Hi Logiforce
I ordered the Wheell already. Thanks for your comments.
I got it all togheter for 479 (wheel, pedals (373€)and TH8RS shifter (106€¡¡¡¡¡¡)
I see no reason not to buy the pack¡¡¡¡¡¡
Easily i can sell it later on for 450 if i don´t like it, so my own test will cost around 30 euros.
Waiting for your CSW review¡¡¡

My kid and I have been enjoying playing PS3 games split screen with the CSR-E + T500RS combo. All that power together is awesome :dopey:

So that's an option as well (CSW + T500RS)

ok
I´ll buy the CSW only if it is finally compatible with G25 pedals, or at least if it is 450 times/€ better than T500

Just buy the T500 then. There is no way it will be 450 times x 600 euro = 270000 times better then a T500 RS. lol

Yeah I commented on this a while back where I was having issues with wheel center on GT, the online physics compared to the offline were very different when using the CSR.

I now use the auto center spring option in the driver menu which seems to have helped me a lot with this issue. Hopefully the new firmware when available will correct this when available.

A bit frustrating seeing the issue fixed on the CSRE before the CSR, this issue was pointed out before the CSRE release by many people. Seems to me that the CSRE buyers are treated like royalty and other fanatec owners are left in the cold longer.

Sorry for rant having a bad day, but it is pretty much the truth of the matter. Makes the reviews of the CSR wheel not very accurate in my opinion. How testers didn't notice this is beyond me but yet like I said the issue is addressed pretty much upon release for the CSRE

I have a question, does the GTP community need another T500RS review? I figured I might as well do one.

Standard CSR? No never had that problem

It's the CSR wheel with the standard porsche pedals. We were racing for 40 minutes fine before this happened. The pedals we sometimes not allowing 100% force (even though the pedal was pushed 100%). Then this happened. It's really odd. The middle 90 degrees maybe move the telemetry in Forza4 about 1 degree at the most. Then the more you start rotating the wheel after that 90 it almost started to "catch up" and feel normal again. We didn't try to save a new preset or anything out of the ordinary. It just started out of the blue about 500m in to a race. We treid reboots on both, on at a time (never using the wheel to power on the xbox) nothing seemed to correct this issue. Anybody else ever hit this?

I can't say that I have. When you say the "middle 90 degrees" do you mean right around wheel center?

Yeah approximately 45 degrees in either direction. It's actually closer to 50 or 55 but I thought 90 would be more easy to visualize.

If you race down a straight and it has, what anyone would call a slight bend, the top dead centre of the wheel has to be rotated at least 45 degrees before the game detects any input. This input that it detects would normally have been a motion, that at the 270 sensitivity, would have taken about 1mm of rotation (maybe 1 or 2 degrees at most). So we are talking a very little amount, which felt normal. So it's essentially about 90x out of whack in the centre.

That sounds alot like what would happen if I changed settings (on the wheel) after I am already in the game. I always choose wheel settings before I connect to the box. Meaning, xbox on first, choose wheel settings on wheel, then hit the xbox button on the wheel to connect it to the box. Might just be a ritual on my end but, wheel always seems fine if I do it that way.

Maybe Thomas can do that¡¡¡¡
But seriously, I think than my choice with T500 was correct because I Will avoid the bunch of problems that Fanatec wheels give now and then.
Did you have some problem with T500 ?

In this regard I´m more afraid of Fanatec than of Thurstmaster.
But later or sooner a CSW will be mine too.
