Cool. I will find some way of videotaping my best lap, by the way.

Oh another Q (don't hurt me!) Are weight penalties in effect now? Or do they start after the Autumn Ring race is over?



Driving that Mustang around Autumn Ring is sooo much fun. Surprising, too. I keep getting moments where I totally lose composure, get the car slightly sideways, etc. Not really good qualifying stuff, but fun nonetheless. :)

They start after Autumn ring. I mean the weights, hp set during testing are in effect, but there won't be any more weight added until AFTER the race.
 
You can do as many laps as you can. If you save your ghost instead of your other save(sorry forgot the actual name) the ghost save will save the fastest lap.
 
^ ya Raz, you save your "best ghost lap" or something, then it can also be watched as an individual replay for just that one lap. Nice feature.

Gotcha.

Well I did some Q laps last nite. Kept nailing some good laps, except when I'd watch the replay, there would be that tiny graze on a rumble strip somewhere! :mad: And I know the rule is our tires can't touch rumblies, so I'd have to start all over. :banghead:

I am pretty sure that is not entirely accurate. Although "Rumble Strips" are not counted as part of the Track for this competition, it would be quite okay to run onto or past any given rumble strip so long as at least two wheels are still clearly on the track between the Yellow or White line edging ( as per the rules in post #1 ).
I recently saw some pictures showing exactly what I am trying to say, only they demonstrated it perfectly.
I know they are in a thread here somewhere, but cannot remember where :dunce:
Someone may be able to point us in the right direction.

Rumble strips are fine. I use them all the time, personally. They're great markers (Turn 6 on Infineon is a blind corner, and the trick to that corner is to aim for the rumble strip.) and allow you to hear when you've reached the apex or outside of a turn. You'd be surprised at how much you can improve your times by touching those rumble strips.

OLR Track Rules

The above examples show what is valid and invalid if the Rumble strips are included as part of the track.

This tournament does not include the Rumble Strips as part of the track so drifting beyond the White / Yellow lines edging the track with all four wheeels would be invalid.

I believe the slight confusion has arisen because most tournaments have Rumble strips included as track, a sort of default OLR rule.
 
OKay, well that clears things up. :dopey:

I'm definately NOT that dirty with rumblies (refers to pic above). I'm talking about my inside tire might graze a rumbly just for a moment. WAARR! like that. But I'm definately not driving my entire car (or even two entire tires) over the rumble strip/white lines of Autumn Ring. It's literally a blip here and there. Frankly, it's near impossible to do an entire lap without rolling slightly onto one, at least at Autumn Ring.
 
Yeah, Autumn Ring is hard to do without touching rumble strips. Especially around the Bus Stop. (Turns 3-5)
