And to think that I used to hold him in such high regard after Snowden's revelations.

An Australian themed Ben Garrison cartoon. What a time to be alive.

Isn't the issue getting back into Australia, not leaving? I follow a couple Aussies across social media and they seemed to have more issues getting back home, needing paperwork, being on a specific flight, & then escorted to a hotel for 2 weeks.

Then you have that tennis player who ran into issues getting in & was deported back out.

Yeah, you're spot on.

I'm not exactly sure what the current deal is for people arriving back into the country is. It varies from state to state. The Eastern states. I think as long as you've had at least two shots, you aren't required to do any hotel quarantine anymore. On the other hand, Western Australia is completely shut off to everyone at the moment.

It's a bit of mess but hardly the tyranny some people are making it out to be.

I think the “joke” is that Australians can’t leave their homes. Which is 100% false.

In ACT there is no restrictions for unvaxxed
In SA unvaxxed can do everything except visit an aged care facility
In NSW unvaxxed can do everything but go to music festivals.
In TAS unvaxxed can do anything but go to pubs, bars, clubs & (liquor licensed) events
In VIC unvaxxed can do everything but go to restaurants, pubs, clubs, casinos, cinemas, events & festivals
In QLD unvaxxed can do everything but go to restaurants, pubs, clubs, festivals, events, attractions and visit someone in hospital.
In WA unvaxxed can do anything but go to restaurants, pubs, clubs, festivals, events, bottle shops, stadiums, casinos or visit someone in hospital.
In NT unvaxxed can do anything but go to pubs, clubs, casinos, (liquor licensed) restaurants & cafes, cinemas, theatres & ticketed events of >100 people (rural) or >500 people (urban)

In all of these circumstances people can still get food, go to the hardware store, the big box retailer or even a packed shopping centre. They can go to the beach, the park or the city centre. They can (WA excluded) travel between borders. They can meet with friends & family in a park or private residence with very loose (or no) capacity limits. I also saw no specific rules barring them from weddings, funerals, births or end of life visits.

Now for context here, 93.1% of Australians over 16 are fully vaccinated. These people, and the portion of the 6.9% that have a valid exemption, have no restrictions.

So if we estimate 1.9% of people have a real exemption, and 50% of genuine unvaxxed have a fake vaccination passport (my friend for example) that leaves 2.5% of Australians with some form of restrictions. Ranging in severity from no cinemas, to no visiting (but still being treated in) hospitals.

There’s just under 26 million people in Australia. Subtract those under 15 and there’s 21 million. Subtract the 97.5% who are vaccinated, exempt or bothered enough to get a fake passport. Keep in mind that 40% of all Aussies live in SA, ACT & NSW with extremely minimal restrictions.

That leaves you with 315,000 people that are “trapped in the Kangaroo’s belly.” All of which can “escape” by getting a medical exemption, getting a vaccine (including the recently approved novavax many had claimed to be waiting for), or by just downloading a picture from google.

More than two and a half times that many people have died in the “free” United States since the pandemic began. Nothing is ever going to help them “escape.”

So does John just have to vote once since he's the only "real" member of the Supreme Court or does he have to vote for the 9?

Well, some people do their own research on the vaccines, some do their own research on the supreme court. Results may vary. Or not.

Depends on whether Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow.

First time I heard about that belief, was during a discussion at my old work. Guy around my age & another co-worker were in some light hearted religious discussion. Mind you, the other co-worker is an older, deeply Christian, Mexican man who is super calm & respectful of everyone. Something in their discussion triggered the co-worker my age bringing up that people in the past lived so long & I immediately gave a humorous, "No way, bro? You don't believe that, do you?" He said it was true and turned to our older co-worker to back him up who said, "I don't personally believe that, no." It led to some other questions asked about the older man's faith, but he answered them all. I asked him later if the other guy was just spouting BS, but he calmly said, "No, some people believe that. I don't want to say it's wrong b/c people approach religion differently. But, his beliefs about my faith were not from the same Bible I read".

Poe's law sense is tingling... no way that Cordani guy is remotely serious. I hope.
"Aged urine" is a real thing.

Well, it's not a real thing, but it's a real belief of the pisspushers.

This particular psychosis is all very consistent isn't it? You want to give me a relatively painless cost-free pinch in my arm that will prevent me from getting seriously sick and I don't have to do anything? It's a trick!

You want me to drink a pint of aged urine and pay $$$ for or steal horse dewormer, possibly breaking the law in multiple ways? Only if it makes me feel horrible, risks jail time, costs $$, and tastes like crap will I believe that it's good for me.

I actually have read commentators to the Old Testament that stated 2 possibilities for this:
1. The years were not years as we think of them but were actually shorter.
2. Conditions pre-Flood (which is when majority of those listed in the Old Testament and Pre-Dispersion lived) in that area were more hospitable for longevity. Once the populace had to leave the Mesopotamian area, the trials and tribulations of new climates (plus the overall change in climate following the Flood) caused life expectancy to go down.

In biblical times they had urine humidifiers and ivermectin.

Either way, they're taking the pee. I used to subscribe to the satirical magazine Private Eye and in the back there was a regular small add for urine purification tablets. This is the first I heard about its use in humidifiers and nebulisers though. 🤢🤮
