I just thought I would share my ideas of various customization options that I would like to see added to Gran Turismo.

- Modified / Customisable Bonnets
- Custom Eyelids
- Customisable wheel sizes
- Custom Paint Option for wheels and lug nuts
- Customisable tire width
- Custom Wheel Offset
- Tinted Windows
- Roll Cage option
- Further increased painting options
- Customisable Headlight colors
- Racing Decals / Sponsors options
- Stickers / Customisable Stickers
- Driver's Racing Seat
- Paint option for Spoilers, Rear Wings and Mirrors
- Body Kits
- Roof Scoops
- Custom Side Vents
- Rear Diffuser
- Customized Brake Discs
- Custom Steering Wheel (credits to Harsk100 for this suggestion)

- Adjustable Rear Wing Setup (credits to for RACECAR this suggestion)
- Halo Headlights Design (credits to townha99 for this suggestion)

- Modified / Customisable Bonnets
Why can't we have the option of adding a modified / customisable bonnet to our cars?
It would be amazing if it was possible to get a Super Charger sticking out of the bonnet of a fully tuned Dodge Charger; or to be able to add various sorts of air vents to the bonnet of a BMW M3, for example.

- Custom Eyelids
Why can't we have the option of adding a set of eyelids to our cars?
To be able to have a variety of different eyelids to choose from for each car would be optimal, if you ask me. To be able to select the color of the eyelids, and also having the option to turn your selected eyelid into a Carbon Eyelid.

- Customisable wheel size
Why can't we have the option of choosing a more specific wheel size?
It would be very nice to have the ability to choose from anything between 14" wheels to 22" wheels; customisable wheel sizes.

Render-BMW-M4-1.jpg

- Custom Paint Option for wheels and lug nuts
Why can't we have the option of painting the lug nuts as well as the inside and outside parts of the wheels?
I would love to see a feature which allows us to paint the wheels in different colors; like painting the inside Blue while painting the outside Black... or painting the inside Orange and the outside Silver Chrome, and also, being able to paint the lug nuts.
I will let the pictures do the talking.

- Customisable tire width
This is pretty self-explanatory; why can't we have the option of choosing the size of the cars' tires?
Having a set of fat Top Fuel-like tires on a fully tuned Chevrolet Corvette C3, for example, would be incredible!

DSC03416.jpg

- Custom Wheel Offset
Why can't we have a feature that allows us to adjust the offset of our wheels?
To be able to manually set the offset for the Rear Wheels as well as the Front Wheels respectively so that, if you like, your Front Wheels will have less offset than that of your Rear Wheels.

black_bs02image_01.jpg

- Tinted Windows
Why can't we have the option of tinting the windows of our cars? To have the ability to set the brightness, hue and saturation of your selected color and to have a full color palette to choose the exact color of your own liking.

rx7bo.jpg

- Roll Cage option
Why can't we have the option of buying and installing a Roll Cage for our cars?
I suppose this could come with some kind of advantage; as the Roll Cage stiffens the car, thus making it easier to handle.

_3081.jpg

- Further increased painting options
Why can't we have a more advanced painting option?
Adding a full color palette with the ability to set the brightness, hue and saturation of your chosen color.
Keeping the already existing pre-selected colors that you can win and acquire by purchasing a new car, but also adding a new category of paint; Customisable Paint.
When you enter "Paint Body" or "Paint Wheels" or "Brake Caliper Paint", you're taken to the screen where you are given an option of choosing a category of Paint colors; Solid, Metallic, Pearlescent, Variable Color, Matte and Chrome.
I would like to see a Customisable Paint category in which you can select your base paint (Solid, Matte, Chrome etc.) but you create your own color from a full color scheme, where you choose your color and set the brightness, hue and saturation of said color to make it exactly the way you want it.
This would make it possible to paint your car in White, Pink, Orange or Black Chrome for example.
The Full Color Palette that I'm thinking of would be something similar to this; http://www.colourlovers.com/copaso/ColorPaletteSoftware

PINK CHROME

chrome-pink-nissan-gt-r-and-maserati-quattroporte-3.jpg

- Customisable Headlight colors
This one is self-explanatory.
I would really love to change the color of the headlights of my cars.
To have the ability to buy and install a set of red headlights for a Pagani Zonda R, or green headlights for a Dodge Challenger, that would incredibly cool!

- Racing Decals / Sponsors options
Why can't we have the option of adding Racing Decals and/or Racing Sponsors to our cars (road cars, that is)?
It would be amazing if we were able to add some Racing Decals and/or Racing Sponsors to our cars.
Being able to choose from various kinds of Racing Stripes and various Sponsors, to make your cars a little more personal.
It would be great if it could be possible to have the option of adding Sponsor Stickers to the Rear Wings as well, like the official Race Cars.

2013-bmw-m5-front-three-quarter-mid-drift.jpg

- Stickers / Customisable Stickers
Why can't we have the option of adding stickers to our cars?
Why not add a Sticker option where we can add our national flags to our cars and put our names next to it... you know, like they do on Race Cars for each driver.
It would be cool if it could be possible to select a national flag, select the place where we want it, put it on... now, if you like, just select one of the following; your PSN ID or your GT6 player name and put your selected name next to your flag and you're done!

Side-driver-name-example.jpg

- Driver's Racing Seat
This is a pretty obvious one; a feature that removes the standard driver's seat and adds a racing seat.
This would be a nice feature, if you ask me.
I suggest this could also come with a weight reduction advantage as a racing seat weighs less than a standard seat.
If possible, it would be great if we could have all other seats removed from our road cars and only install a racing seat for the driver, significantly reducing the overall weight of the car.
If we could have a variety of different brands to choose from, a variety of colors and like 2 different seats from each available brand to select from; that would be even better!

Free-Shipping-RAOA01-font-b-seat-b-font-font-b-racing-b-font-font-b-seat.jpg

- Paint option for Spoilers, Rear Wings and Mirrors
Why can't we have an option for painting the rear wing, mirrors and spoilers of our cars?
Wouldn't it be a nice feature to be able to paint your rear wing, side mirrors and various spoilers in a different color?
It would also be great if we'd be able to paint various winglets, such as the winglets on the rear wing.

- Body Kits
We can't we have the option of buying and installing Body Kits to our cars?
I would love to see a Body Kit feature for Gran Turismo!

Chevrolet Corvette C6 ZR1, Body Kit

Audi TT 8J, Body Kit

- Roof Scoops
Why can't we have the option of installing Roof Scoops to our cars?
It would be a nice feature for Gran Turismo that I would love to see happen; it would make the road cars look a little more like a racing car.
If we could have something like 3 standard and 2 unique Roof Scoops to choose from; the standards being like the normal rear wings ("Generic Wings", they are the same, regardless of the car) and the unique Roof Scoops being like the custom rear wing (they are unique to each car model).

JaysRoofScoopWeb1.jpg

- Custom Side Vents
Why can't we have the ability to install Side Vents to our cars?
Custom Side Vents would make for a great feature for Gran Turismo, if you ask me; it would give us further custom abilities to personalize our cars!

- Rear Diffuser
Why can't we have the option of choosing from different kinds of rear diffusers for our cars?
As of right now there are only certain cars that allows you to install a "Flat Floor" and as far as I am aware, there's only one available type of "Flat Floor", being the "Type A Flat Floor".
It would be amazing to have various types of Rear Diffusers to choose from and that each type of Rear Diffuser can be installed to any road car.

- Customized Brake Discs
Why can't we be able to customize our brake discs?
It would be great if it were possible to choose from various kinds of brake discs and once you have selected your brake disc you are able to customize the color and the size of the brake disc.

- Custom Steering Wheel (credits to Harsk100 for this suggestion)
This is what it sounds like.
Why can't we have a feature for Gran Turismo which gives us the option of installing custom steering wheels as well as Racing Steering Wheels to our cars?
If we could have a variety of different brands to choose from, and also have the option of choosing our own colors for various parts of our selected steering wheel.

- Customisable Racing Numbers (credits to Harsk100 for this suggestion)
Why can't we have more customisable Racing Numbers?
It would be a great addition to the already existing Racing Number feature if we could customize our Racing Numbers somewhat more.
If we could have the ability to choose any number from between #1 up to #10,000, and also be able to choose the color of our Racing Number as well as choosing the color of the Racing Number background. As of right now, the highest possible number to select is #99 and we are limited to use black numbers on white backgrounds only.
Also, it would be great if we could have the option of putting Racing Numbers on the windows as well (with transparent Racing Number background, of course).

RED BACKGROUND with WHITE NUMBERS

- Wheel Spacers (credits to KiroKai for this suggestion)
Why can't we have a feature that lets us buy and install a set of wheel spacers for our cars?
Wheel spacers gives a more aggressive look to your car as well as it gives the car a better stance and it makes the car more stable when cornering; it would be a very nice feature for Gran Turismo!

- Custom Tires with Raised Letters (credits to 05XR8 for this suggestion)
Why can't we have the ability to purchase a set of custom tires with raised letters to our cars?
It would be a great addition to Gran Turismo if we were able to buy custom tires with raised letters, and also have the ability to choose the color of those letters as well as what manufacturer we would want.
For example; if you buy custom tires for a Lamborghini, then you could choose to put either the tire manufacturers name (Pirelli, Michelin, Good Year, Bridgestone etc.) on the tires in raised letters with whatever color you desire, or you could choose to put the name of the car manufacturer (Lamborghini, in this case) on the tires.

- Custom Exhausts (credits to KazaMR2 and RZQSPEED for this suggestion)
Why can't we have the option of customizing our exhausts?
It would be great if we could have various different styles of exhausts to choose from, in different sizes, and also have the option of installing up to 4 rear-end exhaust outlets on our cars; whether all the outlets be next to one another or if you have two pairs of exhaust outlets on each side of the rear end of the car.

Two pairs of Exhaust Outlets on each side

Four Exhaust Outlets, all next to each other

- Side Exhaust (credits to RZQSPEED for this suggestion)
Why can't we have the option of converting a rear-end exhaust into a side exhaust?
It would be great if it would be possible to choose where you want the side exhaust to come out; whether it be next to the front wheels or next to the rear wheels.
It would also be amazing if we could choose to have one side exhaust (on the right side / left side) or to have two side exhausts (on both sides of the car).
It would also be great if we could choose how many exhaust outlets we can add to our cars; from 1 up to 3.

- Lexan/Perspex Windows (credits to 05XR8 for this suggestion)
We already have a window weight reduction option in Gran Turismo, however, it does not come with any visible effects.
So, why can't we have the option of installing lexan/perspex racing windows as well? It would come with the visible effect of a window weight reduction, but it would be a separate option, meaning; you have the Window Weight Reduction option and you have the Lexan/Perspex Window option.
That way you have two options; the original non-visible-effect window weight reduction and the lexan window option.
To install a window weight reduction you will not be forced to install the lexan/perspex windows, that would be completely optional - to install lexan windows you will be forced to install the window weight reduction (with no extra cost, I suggest).

Photo-0129.jpg

lexaninstall007.jpg

- Window Vents + Lexan/Perspex Windows (credits to 05XR8 for this suggestion)
If you read the suggestion mentioned above (Lexan Windows).

Why can't we have the ability to install window vents to our cars?
This option would only be available if you have installed Lexan/Perspex Windows to your car.
It would be great if it would be possible to choose which window(s) to install a window vent so that you could install one vent to the driver's window and nothing more or you could install a vent to the back-seat windows instead of the driver's window.
It would be a nice feature to Gran Turismo, if you ask me.
And like all the other suggestions; this would be 100% optional so nobody would be forced to install a window vent against their will.

- Customized Roof/Bonnet Scoop Sizes (credits to Grandea GTR for this suggestion)
This suggestion goes hand-in-hand with the previously suggested "Roof Scoops" and "Modified / Customisable Bonnets".

It would be great to have the ability to modify the roof scoops and bonnet scoops/cowls to your own liking - like we can modify our rear wings.
To have the ability to set the depths, width and length of the scoops/cowls for the roof scoops and bonnet scoops/cowls.

- Custom Hood Pins (credits to Grandea GTR for this suggestion)
Why can't we have the option of applying different types of hood pins to our hoods?
Different types and different colors would be great!
I will let the pictures do the talking.

- Window Net (credits to jake2013guy for this suggestion)
Why can't we have the option of installing Window Nets to our cars?
There is not much to be said about this other than that Window Nets give you that little extra Race Car feel.
Also; it would be great if we could have various color options for the Window Nets, for diversity.

993-GT2-Racecar-Left-Door.jpg

- Stickers for Company Logo, Company Name, Car Model (credits to jake2013guy for this suggestion)
This one is self-explanatory.
It would be great to great to be able to have the option of adding a Company Logo sticker, a Company Name sticker or a Car Model sticker to our cars; for example the HONDA logo, and the HONDA CIVIC, or just HONDA, or just CIVIC (whatever you choose to install on your car).

Honda-WTCC-1_2131342b.jpg

- Adjustable Rear Wing Setup (credits to RACECAR for this suggestion)
Why can't we have more options of customization for the rear wings?
It would be great to have the ability to change the Wing Stays, to place them either further apart or place them closer to each other.
It would also be great to have a Swan Neck option for the rear wings.

- Halo Headlights Design (credits to for townha99 this suggestion)
Why can't we have the option of installing Halo Headlights to our cars, by replacing the standard Headlights?
Nothing more to be said, so the pictures will do the rest of the talking.

Thank you for reading and please share your thoughts and/or ideas on customization for Gran Turismo; hopefully, in time, we can get Polyphony Digital's attention and we might see some our ideas for features added to Gran Turismo 6, or a future GT game!

Have a nice day.

Nice list, I think your wheel/tyre customization just lacks the ability to add spacers to fix bad stock stance on cars like the S15 Silvia. Additional tyre width is a great idea, it would help these cars too.

That is a great idea.
Would you want me to update my post and add your wheel spacer idea (I will give credits to you, of course)?

To have sponsors is a great idea. I suggest you "get" sponsors as you progress though the game. The more races and credits you win the more "sponsors" stickers you have to place on your cars.

That is a good idea; would you like me to add this suggestion to my post? (I will give credits to you for this suggestion, of course).

Yes, please!

Your suggestion has been added to my post.
I also included a suggestion I thought of as I was writing it all down; the option of choosing your own colors for specific parts of your selected steering wheel, I hope that is okay with you, if not, I will edit it out, (all the credits still goes to you though).

Excuse the delayed response, sure, go ahead! :)

Thank you for your suggestion, by the way; it is much appreciated!
It is very nice to see that people wants to help with expanding this post; more people like this and more people post suggestions... hopefully we might see our suggestions in future updates for Gran Turismo 6. :P

Well chosen pictures! They really underline the suggestions. Here's an example of spacers (left M5 is stock, right one has a custom swapped chassis). While this specific car already exists in the game, the change is achieved by an illegitimate modification you can't perform with in-game options. But it does proof that PD just need to give us the in-game menus to perform these modifications.

I took this photo and you're free to embed it into your OP along the example photo of spacers you already got. :)

Thank you! I took some time out of my day and worked hard to make the post look serious and professional; I hope I pulled it off. :)

Thank you for your contribution! I have now added your Gran Turismo photo under Wheel Spacers in my post, as you asked (as well as giving you credits for the picture).

The tire width is a must feature, principally when it goes to Beetle 1200. No wheel in game look good with that narrow tires.

17072887cd.jpg

:indiff:

Very good pictures! They highlight the importance of wider tires; it just does not look so good with bicycle tires on a modified, fully tuned Beetle 1200.

The pics are not mine,I got then from google, but it's just to show us,as you well said, the importance of wider tires.

That's how they should look like:
Fusca+preto.jpg

Thank you for sharing those pictures anyway!
This black Beetle looks amazing; it's in a very good condition and it has got much nicer tires than that of the Gran Turismo's version of the car.

I agree sooooo much on the tires customization! I hate when I get a car to sit as I want it to, then I look at it from behind and I see stupid skinny tires. I have a 900hp Supra with tiny tires, it looks stupid!

I couldn't agree with you more!
It might seem like a small thing, but it would definitely bring a lot of cars to life in a way that is not possible at the moment; it is absolutely crucial, if you ask me, that a fully tuned and seriously modified car should have a set of fat tires to go with it... otherwise it just seems unprofessional.

True that! My little track toy is a GT-R with over a thousand hp, and i'd like to have big fat tires on the rear to put down all that power. I'm not saying that the gtr has skinny tires but they don't give the Race Car look I'm looking for! For that Forza Motorsport is way better, but we can only wait and see what happens next!

I also want the abiility to put racing numbers from #100 to #10,000.

For example:
mes_llanes_05.jpg

For example, in Rally Villa de Llanes 2014, Luis Arenas Tamés used an number #207 for his car. So why are the numbers limited to #99? I think that we should be able to put numbers from #1 to #100,000.

I have no problems for that since my lucky number is 88 :D 100,000 might be a little too much, but something like 1000 should do

Imagine if we could have the ability to modify our cars like this:

Your aforementioned Nissan GT-R would look a lot more like a professional racing machine, wouldn't you agree?
