My brothers and I agree to hit the start button on a given track at an exact time. After the race, we rehit start when the second hand of the clock is on 12. Works fairly well... as a workaround. Organising it in the first place still requires a mobile phone or PSN friend message!

would be awesome to be able to set up and invite people for online events. then we all can have a big gtplanet race event online! then we can finally have a proper weekly race series, where everyone will be able to watch the online replay. i do hope pd makes this possible, though i dont see why not.

I think private lobby is a must! But will it be too late to get this function by fall together with the crash damage update?
I'm looking forward to invite friends playing the online events together! :D

You can also look out for the tracks which are quiet. There have been plenty of races some nights with hardly anyone in them. Admitadly it may mean racing round some of the less fun ones but your almost certain to all get the same race if theres not many people lined up for em.

Also don't feel you have to do the expert 650 races. Plenty of nights I've seen the Intermediate 500 races deserted. It may mean you have to stop shagging your Elise for a while but imo theres more range in the 500 races anyways ;)

I may be wrong but I'm sure I read somewhere that PD could only put Ferrari's in the game if there was no damage to cars. They obviously don't want to see their "babies" wrecked. I also read that when racing on-line GT5 will be linked to a weather site so that you will get the weather conditions of any track real time, eg. If it's raining in California, (as if), expect wet races at Infinion and Laguna Seca.

Various manufacturers have objected to damage over the years, however Ferrari is not one of them.

The forthcoming Ferrari Challenge game features damage, as do all the Ferrari's in Forza (both 1 and 2), so its certainly not Ferrari being the main stumbling block here.

Anyone tried using their router to only allow their mates IP addresses? I haven't really looked at the "mechanics" of on-line racing so I'm not sure if this would be workable or not.
