custom wheels disappearing?

I've noticed, even in GT5, that I can add custom wheels to trucks such as the Dodge Ram, but then when I check my replay of a race, ugly wheels appear. My recent realization is that maybe this is because dirt tires can't be used with custom wheels. Is this true? You should be able to drive your custom truck on dirt. Just like Lamborghini holds events to drive in snow. Can't in Gran Turismo. What am I missing though? Is this a bug or is it that you can't put snow/dirt tires on aftermarket wheels?

No, custom wheels are not compatible with dirt and snow tires. I agree that it is strange that we cannot have our nice wheels when doing rally events.
