Customized PS2

My customized PS2. Powder white with a satin clearcoat. We call it the "PS2 RS-1" for obvious reasons, but also because it sounds cool. The white cf decal adds 10hp, too :)

(Edit: Upload didn't work, inserting image in next post)

My brother bought a carbon fiber battery cover for his car, and the sticker came with it. It originally said "RS-1 Tuning", but the "Tuning" part was crooked, and I decided to take it off.

And the paint was just a $1 can of Krylon spraypaint from Wal-Mart. It did void my warranty though, but I have the coolest PS2 I know of ;)

Unscrewed it. Those 8 little panels on the bottom hide screws. Then I just sat the insides in a relatively safe spot, and painted everything. (Put tape over the serial number and other info on that sticker in the back). Expansion slot cover, fan cover, even the thing that the power cord slides down into.

I'm sure Krylon makes red paint, and it's pretty good stuff for that cheap. I like my white PS2 better than my blue metallic PS1, which costed $4.

You just have to make sure that when you do it, you have a good ventilated room, or the wind isn't blowing hard outside, otherwise your paint job will look crappy. And work in coats. First coat shouldn't even cover it all, then wait 5-10 minutes, do a second coat, etc, otherwise you can get runs which look bad (I've got 2 on the top, but 1 is covered by the MotorsportsDecals.com sticker, and the other isn't noticeable).

Since my warrenty is up, I might do something like that, thanks for the idea! What I would paint it, however, I don't know... I have a feeling I'd paint it like how people paint cars, by using tape and stuff for the lines...

I was going to salvage the "PS2" on top with masking tape, but decided it wasn't worth the effort. I'm getting some more white cf vinyl in a few weeks to finish off the white look.

btw, if you want decals for your PS2, MotorsportsDecals.com is one place, and DecalDriveway.com is also a good site.

Sweet. Now that I've seen what it looks like, I might paint my PS2 a nicee shade of blue since my warrenty is up.

[EDIT] Did you use that new Krylon plastic paint? I heard it works pretty well :) [/EDIT]

I used a regular can of Krylon Interior/Exterior spraypaint. They have a really good shade of blue that I painted the 8 plastic screw covers with (I'll get a picture tomorrow, my digital camera sucks at taking pictures indoors).

I like my decals :P

Oh, ok. Pictures will be a great help :D

And the back...
(This picture didn't turn out too good, my camera is cheap, so I might go back out to get another)

That's awesome Ghost C! I like it. Perhaps the next time I have to open up the PS2 for repairs and/or modifications, I might just consider following your footsteps in having the coolest PS2 on "my" block. :)
