Try it out in the next test session. Anyone around tonight?

Quick question, why are standards restricted?

So you can't use the M3..
and Jimmy, you claim your car was faster, but you did 3 or 4 laps without beating that time and then you follow me round a lap and beat it straight away ;)
So ban for the Type R FD then? I'm moving to the Z34 probably then...

I'll be on tonight if your still about (from about 7.30ish)

The RX7 is faster you can see this just by doing a acceleration test on route x, Add the extra aero then it's clearly faster on the track too, as mole mentioned sector 2 on cape ring inside is a good example of this.

The others are fairly matched from what I've noticed but hey!

Okay, I'll look at starting a room between 7:30 and 8, see how many we can get again as last night was so fun.

we set on tyres? the efini RX7s are abit slower cause of less downforce but the RX8 is unreal quick still needs abit of tweaking tho :)

I reckon the Efini is just as fast if not faster.

Oh yeah. In the FD Spirit TypeR I set a 1:20.4xx round Autumn Ring at my absolute limit.
My Skyline 370GT is lapping at consistent 1:20.4xx and my best is a 1:20.2xx. Oh, with a controller that accelerates when I don't press R2.

I really don't see the problem with using it. Bare in mind my 370GT is running 1375kg just to keep it 50/50 on weight distribution. A full 175 over the limit which most people are sitting on. Just my opinion.

Gonna tell me my car is too fast? lol. Try tuning the cars a little more to a stage that you are actually happy with them and finding the best grip before you go out banning cars girls. I see the point of extra Aero, but try spending more time looking into it.

Efinis are about 2 seconds alap slower than the spritR because the efinis have less aero so the backend kicks out more....your skyline is actually as fast as any spritR even tho its heavier acording to your times and mine

Well Jack, tune the car to get rid of the back end slip? I could and it was as fast as the Skyline, but again, it was on the limit as was the Spirit TypeR

1 make series?

370GT Academy or the 380RS.....

Running unmodified and on SS?

That way there'll be no complaining ;)

He's not BSing, he's very fast in the skyline, especially considering the weight it's at.

Im not saying hes BSing i know hes quick what i ment was he made his car as fast as a spritR even faster and his car is over the weight so it shows other cars can match the spritR if tuned good......maybe the tune on my spritR was fast at first but other cars have caught up and are as quick if not faster

Like I said before, people should actually spend time tuning before they go banning cars.

Jimmy, maybe you've set up your Skyline well, but the RX7 not so well..? Just done some testing of my own at Autumn Ring, all of these set up to handle well - rear end not stepping out, quite happy with all of them. Maybe the S2000 could be improved but not much, few tenths maybe. I did 3 laps in each car - I can get to my fastest pace quite quickly, here's my best times - draw your own conclusions imo...

RX7 Spirit R: 1:18.980
370GT: 1:20.317
RX8: 1:20.321
S2000: 1:20.578

When I did the same test at Nurburgring GP/D there was a much bigger gap - 3 seconds - between the RX7 and other cars.

I think myself and Jimmy are probably about equal in terms of pace, so I'm not surprised he can do 1:20.2xx in the 370GT, I probably can do that too if I get a near-perfect lap. That car despite its weight seems to have a lot of mechanical grip and good acceleration too, so actually quite competitive (surprised tbh).

Ok.. I'll go back to it tomorrow and see what i come up with. I have a day off.

Yah please mate, try a load of different cars at different circuits and see what you think - for me so far it's been RX7 easily fastest regardless but would love some more input with times to back it up - I don't care who drives what, or what car I drive, so long as we are driving more or less equal cars in the long run.

Wait a minute.. I just remembered.. that night we were racing.. my fastest was a 1:18 or 1:19.4 in the rx7.. DERP!!! i thought it was a 1:20 lol

Run the RX-7 without a spoiler if needs be, just to allow more options.

1:20 seems to be the balance for the series.

I'm fine with ditching the FD. I practiced a bit in the underpowered 86GT (360bhp) and was doing high 1:20's... :)

Will start a test session for 7:30.

Been experimenting with some custom tracks as it would be great to have at least one in the series to add variety.

I will have four ready to test out.

I droped the wing off the spritR and can manage constant 1.20.8s with only 8 rear downforce..i scraped the tune i had on it.. spent an hour yesterday tuning it so the car is now in all the rules 1200Kg 404BHP and only 8 downforce so now ya going to say its too fast?? can prove it :)
