the ingame p/w ratio is not correct, for example 1300kg/500bhp=2.60 (the correct ratio) put these settings on a 458 italia and the ingame p/w says that the ratio is 2.56 not 2.60

However the game works it out.. All the cars are even.. Common sense and maths aside.. The game just, Works! Setup your car to be unbeatable and dont worry about everyone else..

Does anybody know if the actual power to weight ratio in the game is correct?

I know it's been motioned a couple of timed that sometimes decreasing the power increases the P to W ratio but it's normally dismissed as 'it takes a while to update' 'BUT' I thought the P to W ratio was weight divided by the ratio you want (2.60)= bhp needed? This is different to what is on the performance tab :/

Or I could be wrong........

decreasing the power will change the p/w ratio

power X ratio = Weight
weight / ratio = power
weight / power = ratio

for your GT are you using the ingame ratio or a one you worked out yourself?

gt3 testing in my lounge, add me or jack_gtr to join, everyone is welcome :D

Bah, we were planning on running Ford GTs as well. Most of the cars on the list have trouble being competitive.

jack_gtr just got 1:00.037 around grand valley east

update: just got 0:59.980

Ok guys please look at usisng other cars.. Otherwise it will come down to who chose first guys.. not cool

they dont have an advantage.. you guys just seem be able to tune them better...

Hi guys!

Just checking to see if we've got any new information...

So...

Can I use a Z series Nissan (any Z car)?

Start date of the league? Time of the races..? I really need to know these 2 so I can definetely say whether I'll be able to make it to the races...

Scrutineering details... How are the cars going to be investigated to ensure compliance to the rules?

I have taken part in a number of leagues in Simbin race sims (GTR2, GTL), and it was fairly easy to make sure that the cars were tuned to spec... Even so, there were allegations (in extreme cases I admit) of cheating... I just think you can relax and enjoy it more when you know there is a way to ensure the rules are followed...

I'm sorry if I'm being a bit annoying with the rules questions...

Sorry m8,

apart from the kind reply from cally-dave (post 32) I cannot find anything new on this thread... I was just asking if there is anything definitive yet...

There is no set time for the series to start, because we're currently running a series that is around half way through...

OK, thx m8!!! I've carrying out some tests already but I'm a bit behind on laptimes... Will get there..:)

probably a stupid question but are you allowed to race modify the corvette?

Agree with jimmy on this one, the 458, GT and SLS AMG are all taken, there is still the Gallardo, scud, evora and others to use.

All cars are equal so it comes down to who has the better tune.

Tested A couple of cars with extensive tuning.. The GTR Spec-V Seems pretty sweet to drive with hard work at a tune. The Ferrari SP1 is definately not A contender, well for me anyway as I see a good lap around 1:00 on GVE and it was A second off the pace. The Gallardo seems to hold it's own on the straights but is a bit lacking in the corners with my personal tuning. Don't forget guys, You can try Ferrari 430 Scuderia, Mclaren MP4-12C, RUF RGT. Also I tried the Corvette And Viper SRT10 Coupe and they are pretty quick so I say again, try other cars!

myself, hms and collateral did some driving tonight on the gp/d and gp/f course, and things seen fairly even, especially once james sorted out a tune for his sls! Me and collateral (andy) spent the night slogging it out between my gtr spec v and andy's 458, and there really much in it, both are practically equal, bar the drivers lol, but as james will tell you, we both set some great times!!

In my opinion the 430 scuderia is not a contender unless you run about 600bhp, only then will you be in with a chance of keeping up with everything else.

Would have been nice to see a few more gt3 cars out tonight to help give more info regarding what needs tweaking further, but there is plenty of time yet :-)

Well, actually this post got me thinking... I have a tuned Corvette Z06 and I brought it closer to the specs for this series (522BHP 1378kgr) and the game says it's 2.60BHP/kgr... But it's not... It's 2.639... So it should say 2.64...

Hmmmmmm...........

And that is also the same difference as adz's Ferrari...:boggled:

Could it be that GT5's calculation is off by 0.04 in every case... Or a units conversion issue..? Or the same thing as when it says 521 in the Garage stats and 522 in the setup stats...

Think of it this way though.. If everyone uses the in game ratio they will be equally wrong instead of leaving it up to themselves to work it out lol

Also.. Ony A mates PS3 earlier today I setup the Ford GT with minor tweaks and done a 59.076 Around GVE.
The car was on it's absolute limit with no more to give! So good luck getting round faster than that girls. 100% legitamet 2.60 Bhp/KG
