why oh why hasn't the APEX'i FD been announced!!! i love that car!!!...i'd love to see Koguchi's 180SX too....watch my vids on my sig if u not seen them and be inspired! those vids have made me a drift nut! and the music is so intense....i used to roll around in my Eclipse GST and listen to those songs and race people all the time...god those were wonderful days....sorry i'm being nostalgic! but word, i hope there are more cars than the 2 or three that are on The 359's car list.

D1 cars are cars from the D1 grand prix drift tournament held in japan and various stages across southeast asia and irwindale speedway in so-cal (10 min from my house ) its brought to you by the owner of option (the magazines and videos). cars are entered by drivers running sponsorships usually by big jdm tuner names.

THey are not rich boy go fast cars. The most famouse model of car to drift out is the cheap toyota AE86. D1 cars do usually have body kits, but they have power and well tuned suspensions to back the look.

I personally hope Polyphony did not update Nomuken's R34 to include the GT wing added recently. It looked better without it. In fact, i'd be happy with the old grey version.

Meh, I don't see drifting as a type of motorsport, more of a late-night carpark hoon shooby.

well drifting is a driving style actually which was developed in japanese road races.

it was used to over take opponents from outside and then block the passing lines of the opponent you just passed.

obviously it was greatly used in mountain road street races as roads were narrow.

i don't really see why it cannot be a motor sport
it's like skating... speed skating is a sport but so is figure skating
so road racing is a motorsport and drifting is ont too.... just that one is judged by a finishline and the other is judged like figure skating

One of the cheapest D1 car that you will be able to buy in GT4 will probably be a used modify Miata. If you increase the power to around 200HP, that would be a very good car for that (althought the wheelbase is a little bit short)

I really don't see it like dancing, but I'm having trouble describing it. In twin drifting, it does have the judged element like dancing, but an emphasis is put on overtaking or getting away. In that way it is more like conventional racing. I guess if your lines and slide are good enough to get you a great score in the first place, you will be going fast anyways.
