Damm, I didn’t realize I was talking to a High Rolla! ;)

That’s brings me to another question, do you guys all have the entire game beat? Like D School, Missions, Track Exp and all of GT League? Or do you just grind for cash when it’s needed? I really want to get the entire game beat but GT League is so bloody boring, I’m almost done intermediate finally but I’m dreading the longer races that the next level has.

I had at one point. PD keeps adding to GT Leage and they're just more boring events. Besides I race so much I earn plenty through sport mode. I was down to 4.5 million after buying the last batch of DLC cars (after being stuck on 20 mil for over a month), back up to 12 million from sport mode since.

The Mount Panorama endurance race is fun, not because of the AI, because of the track of course! Too bad there's no N24 endurance race. I did the Suzuka one a bunch of times to see if I could get the maximum payout, clean race bonus with an under powered Porsche. The AI is so dirty it took 8 attempts.... They speed up and start bumping when you pass. It was pure comedy where every slow car I passed suddenly got into race mode, so I let him pass again and he would keep going passing other cars. I passed the next one, who did the same. It felt like herding cats until they all pitted early and I left the whole bunch behind to herd the next section of cars.

GT League is not as boring as you think going in. Ones I thought I'd be boring like Porsche Endurance ended up being fun and I came out liking the car more. I re-did the Intermediate FF Challenge yesterday using '65 Mini. So much fun..... Really wish they brought back the gift car for League Series wins though. Or a large amount Cr. so there would be incentive to do a League Series over grinding.

The competition is so tight at Maggiore, all I have is a 1:59.0 with clear room for improvement but I can't see myself getting anywhere close to the 1:56 I need to be competitive :scared:

I've been finding myself in very competitive rooms as well. A huge difference from yesterday when there were bigger time gaps. I only raced once today and 1:59.9 was the highest QT time in the lobby with low 1:58s and a few 57s in the top 6. I started 12th when I was in the top 6 yesterday . I'll need to try and break into the 1:58s which so far hasn't been easy.

It made for some fun racing although sometimes scary. 3 wides down the hilly areas was very on edge. Fortunately, most people were clean throughout.

If i have the money i buy the cars lol there is a handfull of cars i do not care to own, but i am still an old schoold gt guy. I love the collecting (have i mentioned i play surrounded by 3500+ hotwheels) and just running laps in the different cars. I have done most of the league and mission stuff. Gold on all track experiance and license test i believe. I am addicted to the online racing tbh. Why do a gt league race when i can have an exhilarating race with real humans or chase a ghost for a record lap.

Started 10th in Race C. Up to 6th by the first corner. Ended up losing track of the amount of people getting penalties for putting me off. Finished 7th after 7th/8th took each other out at the chicane on lap 12. My SR went up by 4 points.

I get your annoyance, but to be fair to the guy behind, there is no braking needed there. You can actually go through that flat out in 6th sometimes if you hit it perfect, but it's usually a slight lift, back on the gas, then brake hard and 3 quick downshifts to 3rd for Degner 2. He probably didn't expect to have to brake for you.
That's the battle for me now, knowing which corners you can take how fast. It took me a while to realize you don't have to lift at all on the left before the chicane. I have trouble in the section from that video, the trust in the car is coming slowly, but that corner I go wider than I should almost every time. I bet a full second can be had for me there.

Guess who's back! Plowing through a decent field...
Guy in 2nd did the no-stopper. Only got him in the last lap!

Watch the videos from the top guys, even if you can't match what they do and that applies to most of us, if they are taking corners flat out then nobody needs to brake there, a small lift at the most. Now though I keep dabbing the brake sometimes and it's all because I'm often following a car through there and a good number are braking and down shifting, it's starting to become a bad habit.

Also I wonder if people will learn to drive better at the start by the end of the week, when you are 10th in the middle of the first few corners and 8th after one lap when starting 20th mainly due to most cars being off track something is wrong. I also got hit by a spun car as soon as I started one race, like how do you spin another car straight at the beginning of a race, just bad but still fun mostly. :odd:

It is nice when you get divebombed in the last hairpin and you can probably keep 2 wheels on but you let them go off and see that beautiful 2.0 seconds in red that they can't do anything about.

I know you can take them flat out, however after years of braking for those corners I find myself often doing it automatically. I have to keep repeating to myself, don't brake, don't brake, or I'll brake.

Other then credits I’ve gotten pretty much zero enjoyment from GT League all together, without the prize cars at the end of each series it’s just a grind for credits. I miss the prize cars!

It can be fun if you set yourself handicaps like using a car which is a tier/class below the rest. You also receive a bonus for it as well.

As for me, I use my wheel .

That’s what I do when I can, sometimes you can even go 2/3/4 classes below with a few tweaks and still win, the bonuses get much bigger too. :)

I tried to set and improve my Q-Times today but wasn‘t really successful: 2:03.1 for B and 1:43 for C.

After trying the Mustang, the Porsche and the Viper I chose the latter. It‘s well balanced and the gear-ratio fit quite good when it‘s BOP‘d to 92%. I started 7th and had some good racing with a spanish R8. Lots of passing between us, but always clean. Unfortunately he spun after the Esses in Lap 3. I finished 4th after some late race attacks of a swiss BMW. Quite hot blooded guy. But his Karma struck in the very last turn when he messed up the twisty section and was passed by a Vantage.

Did anybody else notice that the game judges the track limits very generously. When doing my Q-laps I made some really aggressive cuts but the game wouldn‘t care. Also passing over the grass seems to be fine now. I already noticed this last week on the Ring but thought it might be specifically for this track.

Oh dear.

R8. I have mine set up with +1 brake bias (yes, +1 to the rear). Try it. The 650 is pretty good here too. Set the brake balance to -2. It's about a second slower than the R8, but it's an easy drive.

As for track "cuts" Lago has always been generous. As long as you have at least two wheels on the track-side of the cones, you should be ok.

I've been round Suzuka a lot of times in my life. By my count it must have been a month and a half of that in an X2010, trying to beat the gold time. For however many hundreds of times I attempted those corners I never did them the same way twice. When I came up and around the hill I'd tell myself bebravebebravebebravebebrave and I think I managed to go through the first Degner at full speed once.

Of course, in that instance I'd be going at a completely different speed for the second part and go flying off. Now try and pair that up with a bunch of other people, as well as tyre wear. Not a great combo.

Yep, track limits are more lenient again. I've seen lots of people use the grass on N24 without getting a penalty. There were still some places where you do get a penalty, yet restricted to 0.500 sec, although I found one place where you get 1.500 sec.

On Suzuka the same thing. I messed up Degner 1 a few times and was sure I would be hit with the good old 2.3 sec or more, but noting. Same on the fast left before the final chicane. Screw up the chicane, no penalty. The game still knows the track limits as when I got dive bombed by someone cutting the corner I got a penalty for getting hit :banghead: Defend the grass, not just the inside

I'm even more convinced you can beat your qualifying time with a race lap in Daily C this week because of party mode, this is my best so far but its a bit scruffy in places:

I didn't get anywhere near the turn 2 apex, the first part of spoon was a mess and you can probably gain time from using more curb at the chicane.

this weekly races are the most horrible in a long time for me:

Race C: F1 cars on suzuka: bored of suzuka, if I wanted to play F1 I would buy F1 game.
Race B: Lets put a nice track! Maggiore, everyone likes it! wait, lets invert it.....
Race A: Nice track. Would be nice, so a 60`s heavy car - PD: 'oh wait, lets don't forget to do BOP on this One Make so they all are the same' - So BOP adds 20% extra weight on the already heavy car on a track that has 2 bus stops, what they expect?

Another thing, seems they worsened the penalty system, not sure how they were able, but seems worse - I got 5 seconds because I did brake on a braking point and someone dive bombed on my car, he passed trough.

Gran turismo is really lucky that other games could not implement a nice online racing like sport mode... if next project cars implements such model in the next game .. well we can dream :)
