The racing at RBR is filthy tonight. Especially for SR.S.

Track limits seem very odd, too. No change there, then.

Edit. A quick five laps of Qualifying puts me at 1:30.152. 3385th in Europe/etc. I can definitely get into the mid 29s.

Nice job. I believe I'm still braking too much for the final turn(s). I watched the top guys' replays this morning, and one of them did it so perfectly. It was like one continuous, consistent arc from the back straight, through the two lefts and onto the front straight. Very impressive and difficult to replicate.

I've found it to be ok apart from people braking too early. I'm using the Nissan GTR with -5BB and people in the R8 and Porsche seem to be braking too early.

I'm on my second account in B S rooms right enough.

Thanks! That final turn is tricky to nail. Mine wasn’t so pretty, I was up on my time heading into the final corner but I came in a little too hot and lightly clipped the wall on the outside in between the two final corners. Once I got going doing the hill I realized I had still gained on my time somehow, so I just held’er down and hoped for the best. It doesn’t look like I hit the wall nearly as hard as it felt like at the time, I expected it to look pretty bad on the replay but it’s not terrible and it definitely wasn't on purpose. :)

That first lap on race C is nothing but this
giphy.gif

Actually that looks a lot more organized. No cars ghosting through each other.

The penalty system seems to just give up on lap 1. So many bumps and only a couple people get randomly selected for a penalty. Not that the world's most experienced steward could make any better sense of it. Best you can do is stay in the middle and let yourself get bumped around until the tire smoke clears after T4.

Anyway I managed a 2nd place finish, although in that race I got randomly selected for a first lap penalty. No clue which of the many cars that went off triggered it, but as DR.A in the group, you must have done it :)
And a 5th place finish where I got bumped off in lap 1 yet that didn't matter either. The finishing order was settled by lap 10, watch the gaps grow while lapping half the backfield.

Time for an extended break. Two F1500 races in a row and my left thumb is aching.

Yeah, it's funny, about 30 seconds before you even get to the line, you already know what your time's gonna be.

I think there's a lot of luck in who you ended up near on the track. I did 4 races there today, and had a bad time in the first race, but the last 3 were all pretty clean, much better than Tsukuba and Tokyo last week. My SR started at 99 and finished at 99.

I don't understand how DR D drivers manage to get 3:00 trial times on Race A?! I mean, I had a fastest lap in race with 3:02 being dragged around the circuit by slipstream... how you get down to 3:00 driving solo, beats me... Anything to do with ABS, Breaking ratio? I can't get below 3:07 :(

You should have a look at the laps done by the top 10 stars. If you watch the lines they take, gears they use, braking points etc, you should be able to improve your own lap time. Watching these videos is especially helpful for the Copen race since it is faster to change into higher gears earlier rather than letting the car rev out (something I didn't realise until watching a top 10 lap).

For most of the lap you basically stick it in 5th gear and try to be as smooth as possible so that you don't lose momentum.
You can even watch @Pigems lap, he has a 2:58.5 which he uploaded a video of in this thread.

Hope that helps!

I bet if you didn't dive up the inside from so far out and make contact through that downhill right, then kept the position, he probably wouldn't have been pissed off enough to try that move on you at the end of the lap.

Maybe but i barely hit him and might have made the move anyway. Also he cut me off a little bit during the hairpin so id call it even.

You didn't really do anything wrong. At the final turn, you even let off the throttle to avoid hitting him.

There's always gonna be differences of opinion between drivers. I've had races where I had a really good, fun battle, then tell the guy "Good Race" afterwords. Meanwhile, he's typing a whole paragraph about how pissed off he is about the race.

There are probably some people who report the entire room anytime they don't finish first.

A and C Race is total outrageous. Couldnt believe its called "Racing" Its more of "Smash Car Derby". Gonna laid off this week racing. And creat new psn to participate smash car derby. lol

Many 1500 have crashed to bring me a 12.3
I’m guessing I owe Kaz maybe 1.8 billion right now.
By end of week breaking 11.5 will be my goal.
I’ve gone full retard at this point. Plenty more in it. If I left foot brakes maybe could be better but the window for learning that closed 30 years ago.
Strangely in karts irl it’s not that bad for me. Simgame? Not a chance in he double hockey sticks

What you did was not atrocious, it was light contact. But you did have about a year to avoid it if you wanted to. He did turn in pretty slow, but you still didn’t have overlap before he started closing the door and it was already too late to outbrake him. I bet you would’ve got him clean in the next two corners. Again, not a terrible move since he wasn’t the cleanest anyway, I’m just saying that I’m pretty sure I know why he did that. Definitely was wrong of him to handle it that way though, lol.

Could it be your Brake Balance? I used to feel the same way about the R8 but I found it buttery smooth and stable at Interlagos. I was using BB -3. I've yet to try it at RBR although I'd imagine nothing has changed. If anything, I'd have thought it would be more controllable on Mediums.

Using -3 made a huge difference. I was instantly half a second quicker and the car is much more stable.

I'm 99% sure it was just bad luck. First race wasn't great, and I kept on getting matched with the same overly aggressive German, Spaniard, and Italian who have very similar Q pace to me. At least for now. I only managed five Q laps. So, should be able to take another half/three quarters of a second off.

Granted, RBR isn't my strongest track, and I'm still learning the correct braking/turn in points. So, consistency can also be improved on my part.

ok. I need EVERYBODY to watch this video.

The Mazda was clean all the way trough until the bump point, the Porsche was way behind still decided to dive in a suicidal brake movement, didn't work as he bumped the Mazda - destroying the Mazda corner exit.

He was respecting the Porsche all the way down, Porsche bumped him, should show some respect and give it back - at end of the race both would get some 'thanks for the clean race', instead here is a complain/video.

Well into the 1'09s and top ten (for now) for Race C so I should be happy right (I sort of am) but it was because I found speed everywhere, just not on the same lap. I wouldn't be far from 1st at all if I could run a lap without errors, of course they can go faster too though.

This car is real tough to drive, will be very difficult to get below the 1'09.7 mark I think, maybe even that is too ambitious.

Man running from the back in Race C is hard too, people are so slow and I'm putting them in danger. This is going to take some getting used to, hopefully the next race will be better and definitely cleaner from me.
