Not a top 10 time but down to 2:10.2 in the Alfa 4C at Croix. I could likely lower it and be more competitive in flavour of the week meta car (GT-R going by my last race that had 12 of them! After day one, it's already becoming a One-Make...) but that isn't very fun to me, I'd rather race in a car I enjoy instead of one everyone else is using.

I'd also like the idea of joining a race with my time set in the car I entered as opposed to the current way of using a global QT. If I improve my time in a different car and switch back to one I'm slower in, my pace isn't going to closely match my time. QT with each car is recorded already so it would make sense to have this option.

I recall a one-make race with the Subaru WRX GR B car at Tsukuba awhile back. I want to say it may have been prior to the dailies becoming weeklies.

I don't remember it. I may have missed that one.

Hey guys... im relativly new to gt and this page ... i hope you can help me with my problem ;) can someone explain to me why i am so god damn slow on the straight in race c ... i feel like im at the same speed as the other but yet loose more than half a second on the straight... my car is the 919 hybrid porsche team ... i know it has something to do with the hybrid i figured but i have no clue how to improve or control that ... any help would be nice ✌ Cheers shaker

Yes it'll be the hybrid system, it'll be out/running out of power. There are ways to get it recharge slightly better but it'll never match the Toyota TS050, that car just recharges it's hybrid system far better. Which is why everyone (well almost, 19 out 20 is the most I've seen in a race) just uses the TS050 to race, regardless of what car they set their qualifying lap in (Porsche is actually faster for this purpose).

Also I should add that an alien could get the TS050 onto the leaderboard as it stands because technically at least, I should be capable of a 1'23.3 or thereabouts and so even a 1'22.5 for 1st is not out of the question at all for one of the top drivers. So it's not like you need to use the 919 or R18 to qualify and then use the TS050 to race, it may even help you if you only use the TS050 (even for qualifying), as you only have the one car to get used to then.

Im having some fun in France (or wherever this track is located)
I lost so much SR at the Mountain so I have been driving this race to try to gain some back.
I like the track and its fast and wide so passing is not too crazy, but in this race I got hit in the last lap, and I really did not understand what happened so I included a replay of the Brazilian and Argentinian that was behind me ...

Is short shifting faster in the GT-R? I thought you needed to rev the sucker out.

So, for Race C Qualifying, you have to restart every lap because of the Hybrid thingy in every car? Or just the R18?

I’m using the AMG GT3 ‘16
Feels like a bus, it just doesn’t want to turn.
Needs to switch something better???

I like the GTR, the Supra is also good, Ford GT is ok I think, the Corvette drove nice the other day as well. :)

Soooo.... turned attention to race B, trying different cars..... decided to take the vette for a spin, thought it'd be ok round there...

What an absolute turd, it was 2 secs off my (average) pace...

Gutted, always had a bit of a soft spot for that and the viper....

Oh well..

(probably would've helped if I'd changed the wets from last week)

:boggled: :dopey: :O :banghead: :O :dopey: :boggled:

(it's pretty good when you finally get the right tyres on 👍)

What I found that got me tons of time in that section was trail braking ever so slightly through the esses leading up to that right hander which makes it easier to get further on the left side before you reach the corner.

I thought it’d lose me time but actually gained around 4 tenths.
This is very good advice

I can't do it consistently yet, but it does definitely get the car shifted further to the left.

Thanks bud !

Going back to the gtr lm nismo group 1 car, doesnt this have bop enabled and its still waay off the pace of others? I think if it does supposedly have bop enabled they are obligated to make it competitive with other group 1 cars no matter how much off the mark its real world performance was.

No racing tonight. Tried some Quali at Fuji in the TS050, and just couldn't get under 1:25. I'm just too tired, I think. Constantly making little mistakes.

Tomorrow, we'll get as close to a 1:24 as we can. Hopefully a 1.23 (which should be easy enough) Then I'll go racing on EMEA servers.

Did have a go at qualifying learning both fuji and at croix last night, st croix is still a mystery to me. Consistently hitting 13.9 to 14 but just feel lost on a couple of sections and wall rubbing. Fuji seems good, got a lap at 25 something in the TS050 but need to string a whole lap, optimal was 24.2! Sucks I can't be that consistent, but goals to work towards.

Did a race with the 787, LM55 and Tomahawk in them, 787 was lost and LM55got dogged through the windy bits. But definitely a nasty last section of track with these twitchy things

No, never has been, unless you count asphalt. And I think it's a good thing, since the rally in GTS is so bad...
Gr.B... Can you also imagine what it would be like with the Penalty System. Scary thought.
In other words, it's very unlikely we'll see rally events in Daily Races.
I'm yet to figure out how to be fast on dirt tracks without hitting walls at every damn turn, I don't think it's possible at this point!

I'm afraid it doesn't show rally on GTS either because some gtplanet users don't like it or don't know how to handle the rally car on GTS. And I mean on dirt tracks, the only 3 at this moment.

Thanks for the answers, but it was more for "hitting the same key".
I have 700 daily clicks in the game and I went through all these Gr.B events, just on asphalt. I completed in gold all the rally challenges in the game(s) (since GT3). It is noticeable in both presentation videos, an extraordinary rally environment, and as if not enough, in a very recent final, the drivers (16 or 12) made Sardegna. Yes, penalties. and if someone got them, must have to dilute them in time. The brake is there for something, and if by chance, the boost gives more speed (I believe so, as I see in most online users), must know how to brake.

My best time in Fishermans Ranch is 3´07.*** without hitting any wall, forbidden to scrape even.
I have 3 rally games, of which I only bought the DIRT Rally because it has the PPHC track, and I hope to play it again soon, either in GT, or any other game that provides it, from N100 to Gr.1, 500 cars (1) (not 6 cars as it is in the DIRT) available at the best rally track ever, is only comparable to having the same 500 cars at Isle of Man(2), also because on a motorcycle I am a disaster.

I have no desire to decorate tracks with more than 60 curves except Nurb.(thanks to GT4) and Pikes which I also thank for the DIRT Rally.
I like the Rally GT because they are shorter tracks with an interesting layout, and as I said, since the GT3.
Miss Chamonix, Grand Canyon, Tahiti Maze, Tuscany, Tokyo R246 and Seattle on asphalt.

(1) GT already has Audi Quattro
(2) GT already has Subaru

I have no optimum on race B, but I have raced all cars to change the tires back to dry tires. So I'm already at 36 races at Croix B, 106 laps (disconnect during one race). I started not knowing the track at all to now having firm brake points for any situation or line through each corner. Not that I'm very fast yet or successful, average starting position of 14.91, average finish position of 12.00. It's over so fast and one punt means back to last and nvm. It's a wide track, still just as much contact as on Tokyo in the rain, perhaps more. Plus it took a while to get out of last at all when not knowing the track yet and racing people with 2:08, 2:09 quali times. Never using the same car twice didn't help either, but sure was fun to learn a new track in a new way :)

2:11 is about as fast I've gone so far, the GT-R still drives like pooh and is responsible for the most hits yet is also used by over half the people in the races. The Supra felt nice so I'll be racing that tomorrow. The Huracan is a bit tricky in the backfield, with all the elevation changes it's easy to get loose when correcting for a car messing up in front. RCZ was nice too.

The corner after the middle straight still gives me trouble. Corner exit is hard to see in bumper cam as well as the apex. Cones would help here but nah, no clutter on the road for me. Nice fast circuit, easy for clean race bonus when other people behave. However the two penalty zones are completely unbalanced. Get screwed at the bridge with a 2 sec penalty from a bumper tapper that hits the wall and you lose a ton of time on the straight. However get 2 seconds on the next turn to be served in the second penalty zone and you lose far less time. At least the wide road means less trouble at the penalty zone, plus penalties trigger less often as well on wide tracks.

The biggest problem with the race is only 6 minutes to race. No time to observe the driving behavior of the cars in front to make the most efficient passes, no time really to make many passes at all. My DR has gone down from 41K to 21K, accelerated by it being a popular race and getting placed with the lower DR room after reaching DR.B.

Matchmaking has the biggest influence when racing from the back. For example:
Top room with A+/S to A/S with average DR of 45K. If you are at about 30K DR, you only lose 50 points on average per driver ahead and gain 110 on average from drivers behind. Thus if you finish 10th in a room of 16, you still gain 100 DR on average.
Bottom room with B/S to D/S with average DR of 15K. If you are at about 30K DR, you lose 110 points on average per driver ahead and gain 50 points on average from driverds behind. Thus if you finish 6th in a room of 16, you still lose 100 DR on average.

I wonder where it's going to settle this week.

Got the TS050 down to a 24.1 so far, I had it into the 23’s but I blew the final corner. This is kinda fun, I always forget that I like Fuji.

Went on Race C and had a couple of disasters. First race managed to hit someone up the back on L2 (my car should have slowed down really - I braked early enough!), picked up a 5s penalty and had to fight from the back. Second race, about to go up to 5th due to a penalty ahead, then managed to get all snakey out of the final turn for the first time this week, don't take advantage of the 2s penalty ahead, get someone behind who's all punchy who spins me off a lap later and then after my stop I just had no pace, don't know why, but 1-1.5s a lap off what I'd normally do. Happens sometimes.

So an unmitigated disaster!

Then off I went for my first ever taste of Sainte-Croix... what an eye opener that's been! Done 15-20 laps (9 on long stint) in the Aston and er, yeah I'm slow!! 2:10.7 with an optimum just 0.1s better. Will watch a couple of vids tomorrow and see if I can get the time to something more respectable. Think if I can knock 1-1.5s off that then I'll be pretty happy with the lap

Time for bed

Race A and B don't give enough time or options to get forward from the back for me so I'm just going to stick with C.
