I am pretty happy with my two wins on two different tracks in my first two weeks, the competition has either been really tough to beat or dirty drivers. Currently in DR C SR B lobbies.

That's good news to me, I really like Autopolis. It's probably on my top 5 GTS circuits.

Autopolis is kinda tricky, especially the last sector's apexes, but when you get to know the do's and dont's of the track you can easily raise positions on others' mistakes.

My best result there was a win coming from P10, on the Gr.2 C race week

Tried to drive cautiously to salvage SR. Nope. Not having it. Got put into progressively worse rooms all night. Last room had E/D drivers, C/D, B/D. Mixed with a couple of us at B/A. Still ended up 4th. SR still dropping thanks to that. :yuck:

Crazy as I might sound, maybe you wasn't driving cautiously enough. :p

I dropped down to SR C and found myself in a similar mixed room for Race C. At the start, I waited 10 seconds for the grid to disappear, somehow managed to catch up with the pack and made myself evasive by staying out the way of everyone. To the extent of purposely slowing down to let someone behind pass or by waiting until someone ahead flew off the track. At that SR, I'm not racing for places, I'm racing to avoid every possibility of contact.

Luckily survived the race, finished 7th and back to SR B.

For some reason, anyone that doesn't have a 2:29 on Spa will always slow down at the eau rouge.
I've seen it, battling them out after the first turn and then they will slow down a bit on it, and I usually either gain a position or extend my lead.

Oh, wow. Gr.4 at Spa is FUN! My new favorite combination. As usual, I am not fast in the meta cars- I ran good times in the 86 and M4, then tried the Jag- a little faster but less stable. Running B/S I'm usually gridded mid pack, but my race pace is close to my Q pace, and I can be consistent, so I usually gain a couple of positions. Had two awesome and CLEAN scraps with another racer last night that proved you can race HARD and CLEAN.

Come race with us on Friday nights, we do all three daily races twice. Always clean, always fun! The link to the thread is in my signature below my post. :)

Race B is an excellent chance to gain SR.
I have been racing it all week and leveled up my D to mid C.
Spa clicked so well with me.

Now you're in SR C, you won't gain much. Race B has been brutal this week, for me at least. Very little SR gains to be had, even with CRB's. It's a slow rise and a rapid fall!

I'd also be really curious to know how you got this data @Skinny McLean.

Did you write your own function to parse the results from Kudosprime or to hit the API? I'd love to see my own detailed history as well (not just aggregate data like in KP, which is already really cool BTW). Cheers

Sorry for answering so late - yes, it's my own function querying the GTS server, then parsing and massaging the data.

I just gotta keep it clean.
That's why my first and foremost objective is to race clean, then the good finishes come later.
The trick is to see the dirty players and let them pass.
Many times, I have seen a few dirty players brushing me, hitting me and trying to overtake me aggressively so I let them pass.
It's not uncommon that I see them spinning out and going off track later on the race.

I do the same, but then it's the ones behind who don't look further than their own bonnet that then dish out penalties as you're trying to avoid the chaos ahead.

Or, it's the lower level DR/SR that are given leeway for doing whatever they want and I end up with a penalty for their bad driving!

Does anyone else think that the dailies have some degree of "boost" happening? Just for the opening lap.

Maybe it's me, but somethings seem to be happening VERY consistently this week. For instance, on the opening lap, I seem to always be able to catch the car in front of me as long as I get out of the first corner clean. The same with anyone behind me.

The gap 'says" 1.3-1.5 seconds going into Eau Rouge, but the gap seems to close up every time, again, barring calamity.

If it's lap 2 or 3, that doesn't seem to happen.

Just me or has anyone else felt some things are a little too consistent?

I somewhat noticed this at Interlagos last week as well. On lap one, people could catch me, or I could catch someone ahead of me, then in the later laps it seemed like things were different. Granted, last week there was grip issues all over, but...what if it wasn't a "bug" but rather an obvious implementation of some type of boost.

i'm the same, i had a 9 clean race streak going yesterday at Spa until some numpty thought they could make up with a late late brake and puff it was gone...

I was only on a 2 clean race streak this morning, until someone tried to undertake me whilst I was hard to the right on the white line, defending the inside line going into Campus. I was there whilst a car was ghosting to the left of me.

The car behind me thought it would be a good idea to undertake me using the grass to my right, they touch my rear quarter, spin off and get the 3 second penalty for forcing a car off track.

All I have experienced is people gaining on me during the first couple of S turns. Usually if I nail the apex on each one of them, they have a really tough time catching up to me by the last few turns before the big chicane.
However what I've realized is that surprisingly people are too afraid of the eau rouge.
It's like they subconsciously brake a bit before getting in.

Did a couple of races at SPA with the WRX, it goes around well but not well enough to keep up. Maybe it's me who's not fast enough, I could only gain one position or not at all during those races. Also if I could stay away from getting penality that would help. Anyway my highlight of SPA is this race where we got in a 4 way fight with clean drivers. Best feeling!

Did a lot of Race in Spain. Both with my wheel and the DS4. It's much more easier with the wheel. The change of direction in the last chicane seems to take forever with the DS4.
I choose to start from the back to avoid lap 1 chaos, worked pretty well. Of course there is small contact here and there from everyone including me but I tend to forgive those since the car is so fast.

I just wish the R4M guy in one of them was not so much short tempered. I don't know if he was aiming at me or if the target collected me after he got hit but this race was chaos.

I manage a podium at the end of the day, pretty cool.

Race A and B so far for me this week.

Race A - qually 58.113. That was opt. Be nice to have a sub 58s, but not sure I've got time for it as I do want to try the Super Formula this weekend too.
Three races on my second account (58.4xx). Two CRBs! Think i finished 7th, 6th and a 5th. The first two I made up places, the last one I started 5th too. Drivers for the most part clean. Couple of muppets tho. I've been enjoying the BMW this evening. It's good to have a slightly more powerful FR car to deal with in race A.

Race B - I've just been using the McLaren as I saw Kie's time in it at the start of the week. I like the car as I find it stable and i can point it and it goes there. I found the brakes a bit iffy, but I don't know if that's me or the general problem lots of people been having with brakes for the past week or so. Not raced yet, but qually is 2:28.998.

Ok, I think I might have to surrender and sacrifice a Race to salvage some SR. I hate it as I prefer to earn it by properly racing, but at my current QT and low SR matchmaking I am starting near the front of the grids. To drive from the back I have to get to the back at the start to avoid the turn 1 atom bomb. Umm, with these things I wil have to be ghosted so I know you can be ghosted at the start, what are the guaranteed options? Pause halfway through the countdown? Put it in reverse? I know with the carnage I can move up through the field but it seems like there is almost zero or less than zero spacial awareness in the last couple of lobbies I was in so I am going to have trouble picking spots to have a clean pass where I don't get punted back.

@Invisigoth I don't think it is that hard for someone to get to be the E/D driver I had. Think if you had a mid-pack start position in something as carnage inducing and hard to control as these SF19 cars. And it is your first 5 sport mode races:mischievous: First turn carnage, multiple crashes, track limit violations, unsafe re-entries, no awareness of other cars along with the speed of these things. I was having terrible races where I was struggling with drivers like this and dropping SR easily even when I would eventually get clear and get 6 or 7 completely alone clean laps. I think back to how much I struggled with whatever I tried as my first online races at Tsukuba (and I was HORRIBLE!!) and it would have been 1000 times worse in these things.

Edit: on the plus side it encouraged me to spend more time learning to finesse the decals in the livery editor. Might actually produce a reasonable looking one soon.
