I saw the first overtake not the second one.
The second one resembles what you did but on the first turn.
Still a dirty move.
This would work if the one who does the dirty overtake accepts the SR penalty but most of the time, it is the one who gets hit that gets the SR down. :dunce:

Seriously. You are clueless. There was nothing dirty about that real life move, even the commentators mention how the door was left wide open. The other driver tried to run him into the wall. The lead driver was a moron.

There was literally nothing dirty in any way about the passing drivers move. He left the lead driver plenty of room.

I also added to my post you quoted.

Led from pole to flag, 20th victory is probably a million miles from all you guys but I’m happy it came at Spa..Gr.4 just is perfect racing around there and just seriously wish they’d have the circuit available for all daily races, it’s absolutely fantastic

wow you are exactly the kind of driver that keep me away from sport mode . To pass someone you have to be door to door whit im at the breaking point not at .2 behind ? If you can avoid contact you are supposed to do so . Racing is a non contact sport and your front bumper ram is side door . I like winning but i don't take players out to do so lollllll

Its called out braking bud. You dont have to be side by side at the braking point always. Does anyone that play this game ever watch a real race? If that was the case there would be alot less passing in gt racing and ZERO overtaking in F1. When you brake and somebody moves in front of you, you cant brake more than 100%. Buddy gave him 2 choices with the late move to the outside. Spacedust had to either hit him or take the inside so he took the inside but buddy closed the door on the inside causing himself to get hit anyways.

I ****ing hate when somebody blocks right as you brake and then try and blame you for it.

I regret opening this thread and reading some of these posts. Like no wonder i get punted so much when people believe they are so right when its clearly a block that got him hit.

I am really sorry for opening this can of worms

Its good discussion about racecraft.

I just dont understand how somebody can watch that and think yeah id be totally ok with that guy blocking the **** out of me twice under braking. If anybody were spacedust they would do the exact same thing. You go where the space is. Which he did twice. I wish gt had a legit racecraft video instead of whatever bogus trash they make you watch now. Most people would ignore it anyways i suppose.

I feel a little dirty after this race. Was I wrong, did I close too much on the final turn or was it an ok move?

From what I see, (same as @05XR8's clip) all drivers involved show good awareness.

If it wasn't the final lap. Not so much. On lap 1 or 2 I think it's too aggressive. But this is the final lap where there are no more opportunities. 9 out of 10 drivers I think would go for it.

If it were me being overtaken I would kick myself for letting the car so close at the end and be happy with the podium. But I do think it's a good thing you felt it was dirty.

Thank you, that was what I was hoping for. He pushed me wide at no-name but in all fairness I left a small gap. So I didn't feel bad about that move at the final corner, until I watched the replay.

It was good hard/clean racing from both of you. You both left the other room and not wildly closing the door. Even on corner exit you didn’t run wide, you left him just enough room to stay on track.

That’s great racing and what I hope for, its hard with players you don’t know and requires trust on both sides that neither will do something stupid.

Completely fair in my eyes, the gap was there and you went for it, you weren’t overly aggressive so for me it’s absolutely fine

If I haven't missed my braking point on Kemmel it might have been just a run off to the line, but I messed up (first race in the Jag, such speed!) And he was right behind me again.
It was good fun racing.

Civil war has broken out (apparently) judging by the few previous posts, relax guys, it’s Christmas :D just posting this as an excuse for more Santa emojis

I too am all about the santa hat emojis. It might just be the highlight of the holidays.

Still in SR rebuild mode so going carefully and trying to play nice. You want moving in the braking zone?

This was pretty late/aggressive but no harm done:

This was just brilliant. Makes it super clear they're defending the inside (also on the harder tyre), so I go outside to either drive around him or do a cut back. They move out and push me off. That cost me a 2nd.

One more thing. Alot of incidents could be avoided if pd just added a rearview mirror/camera to every view. Its honestly the stupidest thing to not have it on every view. I dont use anything but bumper in races because i dont want to have to look back and not be able to see in front for 2 seconds. And that crock about it would make certain views op or whatever is also a square mile of bs.

After being cheated off a victory by the game, I took a few days off and came back today.. Did 3 races... 2 were very interesting

Race 1:
I started in 2nd, got punted hard at turn 1 down to 17th... Somehow made my way to 4th.. But at that kink before the back straight, 3rd place was going really slow and I went wide to avoid him...
Mini rage moment as the game punished me for being safe...
In my distraction, I don't realize that 2nd place had served a penalty and still used the same braking point meaning he was really slow through the hairpin... Pushed him wide trying to avoid him and although I waited for him, I still got 2s.. Next lap I went all the way down to 6th, then made my way back to 4th

I still don't know how I went from 17th to second.. My pace after the pit stop with all medium tyres was insane... I was literally wondering why is everyone going so slow

I race in 1st person... There are cars I simply refuse to drive because they lack mirrors...
With the radar and mirrors I've avoided more divers than I can count..

I am so harsh on the front tires in the race. My cornering feels smooth and I don’t get a whole lot of wheelspin in the rear, but I feel like my braking is whats destroying my tires. I’m pretty much always burying the brake pedal, how much force do you guys use when saving tires?

Thinking of just creating a lobby with max wear and learning the hard way, not exactly how I want to spend my Saturday night though.

Don't know how much cleaner you could have been. That was spot on. P2 didn't move and gave plenty of room for you to compose yourself. Happened just like the real GT4 Spa video I posted. Multiple cars side by side into, through and out of the final chicane.👍

Mate that wasn't a dive bomb.. The Lexus literally moved out of his line in an attempt to block him...

If you believe there's nothing wrong with moving under braking, then maybe it's best you stay out of sport mode

That’s a great idea, and max fuel usage too, just to make it fun! :)

Tidgney's done a video on tyre saving in general

It was a good thing I saw your video before, that was in my mind when he opened the door
