I told you guys I play other games!

Dude, we need to have a talk about your Ace Combat obsession.

I’m not proud of it, but after being bumped for the entirety of Sector 2, I punted the guy at that same corner.

I won after a good battle with 2 other dudes that was clean, but it feels ****** even if the guy deserved it.

After the punt session I was the focus of, I am not going to let them think I'm intimidated by them. I had some jerkface punt me. Then, while working my way back up, another jerkface punted me. But, I got the second guy back. But it's open season on...um...bikini waxers that aren't members of this forum.

In other news, even with the punting going on, I was able to make it up to "mid-B" DR. I crested 20K for the first time.

You’re probably right, with the penalty system set up the way that it is. It’s just a hard mental switch for me. Plus, I swing and miss too much to be a good dirty driver, haha.

I hope to get back up to around there in DR. I’ve been barely clinging to DR B since Christmas after peaking at 27k. I think it’s reasonable if I get some good time in to race this week. I have Thursday afternoon off with the wife at work and the kids at day care/school, so I hope to get a bunch of races in then.

No matter what happens this week, I've been having more fun than even last week. And I haven't even stepped a tire onto Suzuka.

Got the main account over 20K DR & the SR to S. Got the alt account over 15K with SR also at S. I somehow forgot to grab the pic of the win on the main account. :boggled: And, @Sven Jurgens is 100% correct. The penalty system is letting everybody & their mother get an S rating for SR. The demons are on the track now, so watch your back out there.

2 things this video shows:
1. My overtaking ability is abismal at best (even more so at Suzuka)

2. The insufferable amount of lag/rubber banding in the lobbies I joined? It was like that for 3 consecutive races... I tried restarting everything and there was no-one connected to my WiFi...
Is anyone else suffering from this?

Yes. Rebooted my router. All good now. First three races on my alt account, was up and down yellows and one red dot.
Two 11th place finishes from last, no qualy. Players can't get out of their own way.

Had enough of that. After rebooting my router, set a 46.6(B/S).
A Huracan was P2. I watched the replay and the pilot was hopeless. The Vantage that started 3rd was being kind and not forcing anything from T2/3 chicane to CoD entry. Then, the Huracan just lost all composure and straight-line the exit. Vantage got stuck behind it. Done.
The Huracan then, at the corner before the PZ, it slows right down at corner entry! A GT-R behind it slams right into it with no where to go! That was a wrap for everyone else

Back to my normal account and see if anyone plays sane.

Similar stuff happened at times in my lobbies last night, only i was usually a couple of cars behind so kept getting caught dodging it. Going to have to suck it up and get another try in tonight to see if I can get some of the good lobbies. And then not bin it myself like I did last night once I got a clean lobby.

That said, I did lose it in the final turn on one race after I was punted back to the pack. I ended up barging someone off when it happened, so I waited for them. They waited for the reset that didn't come so we ended up 15 seconds behind. People asked in post race chat why I stopped. Shows the consideration we have going on now.:yuck:

I've seen similar issues occasionally, but not today and I'm in a different region anyway.

Your ping seems OK, but something is causing data traffic flow to be intermittently and briefly interrupted. Even though no-one else is using your wifi, that doesn't mean that nothing is affecting it. Power tools, electrical appliances, old motor vehicles, lawn mowers, industrial machinery, old or cheap or damaged electronic equipment, some weather conditions, all of these can cause electrical interference that may interrupt the data flow on your wifi. This is one of the reasons that wired connection to your modem is always better than wifi.
Another possible issue is congestion on your local internet node (i.e. all your neighbours are streaming / downloading) or on a major hub somewhere between you and the server. Not much you can do about those yourself, though sometimes complaining to your service provider can help with the former.

Screw this. Been punted several times, dodged others. Time to be the evil. I am sick of seeing the same people pull this. Screw my ratings, it is 🤬 on!

Edit: just got barged off once, punted two :censored:s from earlier races and got CRB! This is 🤬

It is wrong on so many levels. But before the update they could do the same and you where the one who got penalised. Now at least you can defend yourself.

Yeah, it is actually a sick joke the way it is going but just have to deal with it. Might have to try race A again. B is just as nasty but I start much further back in the field. On a bonus note I won the 787 on the wheel of disappointment so got some good going on there.

At 7:30PM, you know what time it is

Started P1 on my alt account again. Got punted by 6 cars into T2/3, after avoiding P2 VAntage that wanted to divebomb. A Slophy feels it can gain position by throwing itself into the turns and let the other cars take the impact. It did it to me past the Larini right-hander into the hairpin. I said heckno!. I served that Slophy into the gravel. Surprisingly, I got a 2 second penalty. Noone else got a penalty for punting me. AT the end, I typed "Every1 is getting smashed next race!". No apologies.

I get it. I've had more poles that fastest laps.
I usually assume that people starting the race with Q times that are within a second of me are going to eat me up, because normally I'll keep qualifying until I get that one miracle lap where everything works out just right. I'm unlikely to get near that time in the race.
Seems like it's usually just the A+ guys who can match Q times in the race.
Yeah, same for me. There's only a couple of tracks where I can qualify fast and then run a consistent pace close to qt. I definitely think being DS4 makes it harder to be consistent. If I'm starting on pole but the couple of guys behind me are clearly faster I tend to let them slide by early and try to chase them. Better that than slow everything down by defending hard and then inevitably get swallowed by the whole pack at the end!!!

After swapping from the M4 to the Jaguar for DTS I knocked a second of my QT and was able to keep up with race pace. Most of the races were pretty clean, some did seem to get locked into personal battles, but I managed to steer clear of trouble and picked up the places. DR is on the rise again and I only committed suicide at the COD once during the nights racing

Reckon I'm going to stay away from Dailies for a while, maybe FIAs if they degrade too. The penalty system has gone way too far the other way. Just had races where I've had reasonably high level players I'm familiar with just spit the dummy and start punting people off. I tested it and punted a Korean guy that got me earlier in the race and I got nothing. It's just silly.

Penaly system or not, today was a good day for me. Race B, qualified 2nd. P1 binned CoD on lap 1. I get my second ever 1st place with about 3 seconds clear of 2nd place, smooth as silk all race. Normally I'd bin it within half a lap of getting anywhere near 1st place from nerves, I am so pleased with this.
Bonus points - fastest lap and CRB. :D
I am liking the Jaguar. Also signed up for the remainder of current Manufacturers series with the same marque.

Had my first shot at the Daily Race B.

Holy moly, GT4 cars at the chicane of death are interesting, I still find no line to take it flat out.

But the behaviour of other drivers is very annoying there. Even if you are 3/4 car in front of the others, there is nearly no chance they back up in the chicane. Result is, either you slam your breaks and get pushed out of the way by the following racers or you have to deal with two cars where normally even one car is quiet a bit tricky.

Tested yet two cars.

The Jaguar F-Type is very easy to handle at the Dragon Tail. Nearly no traction problems, fast in a straight line and overall planted when it comes to cornering action.
Supra GT4 is for my driving style not 100% suitable. I have the feeling, that there is quiet some softer set up and the car feels underdamped. As I have quiet some problems with trailbraking, this feature in the Supra hampers me more than it helps for a good lap time.

Thanks to the new penalty system my SR is stable at 99, but DR is constantly falling as you were pretty often pushed out of the way cause of a lack of penalties for this. I may be #23.991 who is stating this, but they need to fix that....

I picked Jaguar for the manufacturers series as well, and I've been pretty happy with it. Both of them are very predictable and stable, which is important for an average racer like me, haha. I've never done an oval race, and BMB is today in Manu. I might give it a shot just for giggles.

I'm getting closer, but I still have to lift a little bit to get the nose pointed around. I'm averaging probably 115-118 mph through the second half now, although I've hit it over 120 mph a couple of times. I haven't watched the top videos, but @Pigems ran essentially a low 1:45 time with a little lift in there, too.

in other news...I have some catching up to do, haha.

G4 cars you do need to lift at the chicane for sure. Sometimes I get away without lifting.

Edit:

Also I wish people would stop braking in the middle of it. Stop getting on the inside of someone there as well. It will never go well.

Agreed, and I’ll add...if someone gets a much better run through there, don’t try to block them on their way by.

Manu is already over here. It didn't go well for me, for some reason my car left the pits with only half a tank and I had to pit a second time (accidentally tapped brakes?) then I got spun by an overtaking car in T1 just after second pit stop. Still got a CRB but lost DR.

Man, I got my qualify time down to 1:46:9xx on Dragon Trail and I still can't crack the top 5. Some of y'all need to slow down and take in the scenery. Life is too short to go that fast lol.

I did manage a 1:46:4xx during a race but that lap was fueled by pure rage which is something I can't duplicate in qualifying.
