Race C is one of the hardest races I've ever done. The track doesn't have much grip and it's a real test just to survive. To me it's like an endurance race due to the focus required to keep the car on the racing line and off the marbles... What makes things worse are the drivers. I got taken out twice, completely ruining my chances of a decent finish. One incident really pissed me off, as I was happily sitting in 6th place minding my own business. I went wide at the second corner, and lost a bit of time rejoining. On the next corner, I feel someone hit me in the rear, which completely catches me off guard and I go into the gravel. I decided to quit a few laps after. It was such a frustrating moment as I'd been going soo well.

did you best my new qually at DT yet? Hahaha

I’m taking the night off, too, but completely off from the PS4. I’ll hit it again over the weekend.

Nope. And the fact that half of TPC started to qualify yesterday bumped me out of the top 10 list. :irked: I just don't see how some of you guys are doing it. The Huracan feels like it doesn't want to turn at all when I drove it in quali. I was 2 seconds slower than in the Corvette.

Hi, why not just do a slow qualifying time? I see people with no QT & wonder why. Thanks.

A few reasons. Sometimes I’m in the mood for starting near the front, and sometimes I’m not. I don’t always get to race dailies during prime time hours, it’s usually in the morning or late night on a weekday, and not very many A+ drivers are around dailies in general, especially not during the slow hours. Even if I’m not starting on pole and winning by a big gap, the front pack is typically small and usually breaks away from the rest of the pack pretty quickly. Then it becomes a few guys running laps making very few big mistakes. It just isn’t as exciting on most days.

Sometimes when there’s a popular combo, or if I have the chance to race during the busier hours, I’ll qualify because I know it will be a more competitive field and I probably won’t be starting on pole or if I am there will be several other high A or A+ drivers to have a good race with. I enjoy overtaking, and even being overtaken when it’s clean. The battling and respect given is where the fun is at.

He's so good that it's just not challenging, otherwise.

aww, shucks man :sly:

Put down a ton of laps practice tonight at Suzuka to get my quali time down. Managed to shave four tenths off and got down to a 2:00.906. Entered the next race and was still put in p13 starting :banghead:

Through a lot of luck and some patient driving though I managed a p5 finish. What a race.

I was just thinking about how I had 2 good clean races tonight in race A. Some lack of cars around them despite over 1000 races, but nothing blatantly dirty. Then in race 3 I move from p8 to p4, p3 gets a penalty as I am a couple tenths back. He takes a wide line in a turn and I get through. Nope. Hard right at bottom of hill I am hit so hard I hit the wall straight on. No penalty, no reset. I still manage p7, but this is just painful. PD has to do something as this is still all too common now.

One of my clean races was when the 2 leaders scampered off and the pack behind me wiped themselves out on lap 1 at that turn. Not sure to clean drivers. Off to the livery editor before I just bowling ball the whole field lap 1 to vent.

This same Huracan kept divebombing all week. It was in a couple of these races. After it ruined one of my races, I called it out. Another player agreed with me. Next race, I told it to stop divebombing. Sure enough, it DNF'd due to someone punting it. I'm done for the week. Looking forward to longer Gr.4 Nations and Manu this weekend.

This last race showed excellent race craft by the TT behind me. It was able to read what was happening ahead and not be hasty to capitalise on what was happening to a Vantage and RC F, battling in front of me.

I found it to have better grip through sector 1. I was able to take a more aggressive line without getting kicked out of the corner. I was running low 36s or 36 flat for the first sector in the Jag, and it was around 35.5 in my fastest lap in the Huracan. I probably won’t get a chance to get close to my optimal time though. Weekends are busy for me.

Yo all :). Since I haven't done Race C at all this week, and Gr3 at Suzuka is a combination I usually do. I figured to put it in the words of Rod Stuart that tonight's the night :sly:, I had a go in the Beetle. Now I did have a crack with the 'vette, cause according to PD it held my fastest Gr3 time. I couldn't get within 2 second of that time with the 'vette. I was able to beat it with the Beetle, but I was still 2s off the pace . That put me P7/20 on a full grid or DR/D's. Holy 🤬! That almost never happens for race C.

Here's where it got maddening. Race starts , we get to T1, and the bug just would not turn. Hopefully you guys can help me here. I have a couple of screen shots, but despite claiming to be a petrol head, still don't understand all of the information I'm getting. Here's the first one. Bu this stage I *should* be off the brakes, feathering the throttle and at full lock with my input. As I read it, that's not what was happening:

and the next shot a few frames later when I *know* those were my inputs:

This is not the first time this has happened since the last main update. The way the car was behaving was very similar to the description @The_Tullster gave when he suspected one of his competitors had a flat battery for their controller. My controller was at full charge.

I ended up dropping to P13 after the sand bath this caused. It happened a few more times, but I was able to sort of catch it and at least stay on the track, but lost a lot of time. By keeping calm and nursing the car around the track I was able to finish P6 with a no stop... others were pitting, I assume for tyres.

SR blue, DR up 700. Another day above DR 1 .

Did the Blue Moon FIA race yesterday and it was a blast. I haven't had that much fun in awhile. Started 14th and finished 3rd. Even had the fastest lap halfway through in the Genesis. Last two laps were controlled chaos and so much fun. Really hope it's a daily race one of these years.
"Years" is right...the only way we're getting an oval track that makes even a semi-regular appearance is if they add Motegi, since they reserve 1 to 2 spots a week for Japanese tracks.

BMB is actually my favorite track in this game. I've done 201 races and gotten 70 wins there. I also have an average start and finish of better than 4th place, and qualified on pole and finished 2nd in Wednesday's race. It's also the only track so far that I've actually won an FIA race on when racing other A/S drivers.

I'm thinking next week Race C, GR.4:

Miyabi, Monza or Nurb GP

Monza + GR 4 should be fun. I wish they do it.

As for this week's Race B, I have had a good run despite being punted out in every 3rd race. My DR has bounced back to the higher C from an abysmal 800 points last week, so I am not complaining. Also, if the grid has 5 Huracans, expect atleast 2 of them to drive like hooligans. With the current penalty system, the Huracan should just be banned from Race B :banghead:. Lastly, I let karma and the Chicane of Death do it's job and take care of all the bad racers

Well, I'm done. No more races till they put some kind of penalties back on. I have had almost every race ruined by some idiot in the past week. The A race this week is particularly bad, dived on at every corner... it should be a really nice, and fresh combo, but it's ruined by the fact that only a couple people on the grid actually want to race. It's honestly just stupid right now, and tbh just doing laps alone will not keep me around. I know i know, lobby racing and leagues and stuff like that. Short answer is no. Sport mode is perfect for me and how i want to play. I have enjoyed it since day 1 and played nearly everyday since i got my wheel just over a year ago. However having my time wasted is one of the things that gets the most upset. Thats how i see this nonsense. I can have 10-15 minutes completely wasted by 1 hit mid race.

Sorry, i know it's all been said by a bunch of people already, but i couldn't hold it anymore.

Have a nice friday!

@Invisigoth not sure what's happening. Only things I can suggest: Reboot PS4 before a session, play with your controller plugged in to avoid electrical noise interfering with the connection between controller and console.

I thought I'd better give Race C a go too, as I quite like Suzuka. Jumped in too late to set a Q so ran from the back in a Porsche. Started P16 planning to just try and keep up as I'd no idea how tyres and fuel were going to last. First few laps were uneventful then some defensive driving a couple of spots in front of me brought me within reach of the group in front. At this point, the first example in this race of the Moses effect came in to play and I ended up a couple of places up and back in the clear.
The rest of the race went in a similar fashion, with at least two more partings of the waters in my favour. One of them was doubly in my favour as I was being caught from behind by two cars. Just as they caught me, the group immediately in front of me had a couple of nudges and two of them tasted grass, only to come back on track immediately behind me. This resulted in the cars behind me also being dislodged and again I'm in the clear.

End result, P6, CRB, +1500 DR which took me from C to B, plus another 1500 DR for going up a DR level and I'm almost back to 12,500 DR. Of course my grids are suddenly going to be a whole lot faster than the last week or two... mixed blessings.

If the dailies for next week don't get posted, is there still a lobby tonight? I wouldn't mind shaking some rust off. I might just do race B, but wouldn't mind going around some other tracks haha

Yes Sir, we do the current weeks races on Friday nights. Join us anytime!

The lobbies are run as friends only so we don’t have to deal with random drop ins throughout the evening, so for anyone who wants to come out just shoot me a FR on PSN(TPC_Pigems) so you’ll be able to see/enter the room when it’s up. :)

Edit: Finally tried the Race A TT, this car isn’t to bad once you get a feel for it. Sitting at 40.7 right now but I think I can get at least another .5 on a clean lap. :)

Absolutely love the Dragon Trail circuit so thought I would give it a go last night using my trusty Huracan.

Race 1 was certainly interesting, so much faster than the cars around me but started 10th after underestimating quali. I often find taking your time and being smooth will reward you throughout the race. However I was being rammed in almost every braking zone. Side by side through the fast turns seemed like suicide as they forced me off the circuit. Nonetheless I made it up to 4th and was catching the leaders, only to be rammed in another braking zone and then set upon by 4-5 maniacs. No chance. 7th...

After shaving a second of my quali time I started race 2 second. I managed to shift quicker than the 1st place Huracan ahead of me but decided to play it safe in the T1 chicane and respect his line. By The first hairpin we were both dive bombed by some Russian in a GTR, no idea where he came from, certainly wasn't the car or two behind me at the start. Fortunately I kept it on track following him to the chicane of death on lap to where he binned it spectacularly. Easy win by 7 seconds...

Quick question: How does the matching system work? I seem to have reasonable pace and race fairly. I'd like to avoid as many t*ssers as possible!

Next week's dailies:

Race A: N100 @ Maggiore Center, 5 laps, SH
Race B: Gr.4 @ Brands Hatch, 4 laps, RH
Race C: Gr.3 @ Spa, 7 laps, Wets, Tires x7, Fuel x5
These would be great with penalties.

I see Chaos at La Source, Bellof-Manueuvers at Eau Rouge, Drama at les Combes and Dirty Tricks at Bus Stop.

Not to mention what‘s going to happen at Surtees...:boggled:
