I don't know if it's been mentioned but the penalty system seems to be slapping on a tidy 5 seconds for slight contact in the chase braking zone.

I copped two thinking I'd been cheesed by glancing a car only for him to lose the plot, but no, later on was trailing 2 cars into the braking zone and a slight door handle to door handle touch left one with 5 seconds.

So its clean or die making moves into the chase this time around.

Yeah, I got 4 seconds for looking at the car next to me, before the braking zone.

Apparently not...

That’s why it’s best to not throw stones. ;)
No ones throwing stones. I’ve encountered more than enough drivers with a/s who have absolutely no racing craft and always getting into stupid accidents.

But I forgot the part where I was singling people out...

I've been lacking an MR car that I'm comfy in for gr. 3 and I've been trying the NSX round Bathurst (there was one in the top 10 yesterday so why not).

The NSX is fantastic, altough it lacks acceleration past 200km/h. Its my main car and I love it to bits. its pretty predictable and has lots of grip. I usually go 3 on front Brake balance

some other good mentions on the more shaded corner of the field, is the Alfa 4C, which is fantasticly, stable, yet super fun. the lancer and the WRX are also pretty fun, with the lancer being a god cornerspeed and stability wise, yet falling short on everything else, and the WRX being plain fun, yet a bit unstable

Try the RCZ and the 911 I always find them to be the most stable Mr cars
Thanks for the advice but I hate - HATE - the Porsche, it really doesn't suit me at all, and I have too much pride as an Englisman to drive any Peugeot (outside of a certain 80s box with T16 written on the back) :P

EDIT: @Lilium yeah I've given the 4C a fair amount of time, I love the feel of the car and its handling is sublime but it definitely lacks pace and I'm not the calibre of driver to be making up ground in such an outpaced machine. Haven't given the Subaru much love, though.

I used to have a 205GTI and it was a ton of fun! (Granted, I have had both Citroen CX, 2CV, Renault 4L and Fiat 127 and 131, so my opinion might not count)
Aha, I'm a bit young for the iconic French hatchbacks, but my mother has always spoke very highly of her Renault 5 (non-turbo deathmachine model) and the 4 she had before that. The 5 is still nice looking to this day IMO.

Back home on the Isle of Wight I see more than a few 205GTIs still lighting up the back roads. It's such a simple looking machine compared to modern stuff.

Mount Panorama has been my favorite ever since I first played it on Real Racing 3 on my mobile phone. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS TRACK!

I started quali with the GT-R, and it is QUICK!! But I just could not keep it straight. Constantly tried to spin out of corners, and the section going up and down the hill was unmanageable. Maybe I need some more time with it.

Up next was the Beetle. Got comfortable with it, did a few OK laps, but I wanted something more.

Switched to the Supra. And what a lovely car this is on this track. I immediately took to it and kept smashing my quali time lap after lap. it just got better the more I drove it.

After last week's debacle, I am now in the DR D lobby, so it is a tough fight to gain DR while maintaining SR. Did one race yesterday. Started 4th, went up to 3rd, got punted to 5th, and finally finished 4th. DR gained.

I think I will be doing only Race C this week. I am surely going to try my trustworthy Lexus and Jag on this track. Seems like a good week.

EDIT - Didn't have any major issues with the tires on the Supra. Had some degradation, but no visible impact on lap times. For fuel, I saved fuel in the first 3 laps by switching the Fuel map during the lap. The last 6 laps were flat out on Fuel map 1.

I miss running laps/races to start my day. A couple coffee, a couple bong hits, and a few hours of gtsport was a great way to start my day for the last year+. At least now i can read up on all the strategy and car choice before i get going myself.

Not gonna touch race A this week, in protest to the car choice, and i don't like the track. Cant wait to run laps and race the other two combos for this week though. Let ya know how i fair later today when i get to the track lol

There's so much dumb going on in Race B at B/S in EMEA today. The nose-inside and full-bore ram overtakes are rife, and there's a British guy who seems to only be racing so he can drop back on the first lap and then punt anyone he can - tried to sideswipe me in the braking zone for turn one in one race, got a door full of barriers when he tried again on the back straight in the next (after unghosting from hitting someone else). And the entitled A drivers! Whew!

And then you get a great race.

And then the next three are dumb again. I've gained 10DR in 12 races...

Edit: 22DR in 13 races. Couple of A drivers in the last race got hit with the dumb stick, but I couldn't capitalise as I got nose-passed by some a-hole* in turn 3.

Edit: Crikey, over 90DR in one race, largely thanks to some Danish turd (who had been a turd in the previous race) not happy with third place smashing second place into powder.

*Quick note for the "Uuuuuuhh, Famine swore and we can't" brigade: Neither ass nor arse are censored. Nor are asshole or arsehole. A-hole is an independent word in use for at least the last 80 years, and not an attempt to bypass the filter - indeed I specifically choose it for the task

Throwing out broad generalizations isn’t any better though. :)

I made it through a race, i have now gotten to a point where i simply quit the race if i get punted of into the void, i just stopped caring about SR and DR.. anyway.. the race was C, it was fun, the first 6 or so laps was just classic mountain mayhem, a struggle to survive and stay on track. Those that made it through gained many many places. After the mayhem i had to battle with myself, it took a few laps to get a proper feel for the car. If i had sucked less i could have had a proper battle in the last few laps :)

I don't think anyone cares if you swear. We just like making fun of you for it. :dopey:

Because we're a-holes. *

Yeah, but everyone's an a-hole.

I think it surprises GTP members who meet me with the idea, for some reason, that I don't swear. I've seen it in their eyes, as they think "Wait, Famine just said '****'.".

There's fire on the Mountain, fire on the Mountain....So into qualy with Herbie. Managed to beat my Mustang qualy time but still not quite where I wanted to be. As it turned out my new target would have had me starting only one place up. P7 on a mixed DR/C/D grid, with mostly Cs.

Autodrive dumps me on corner exit not quite strait, but I was kinda steering preemptively so I was ready when the penny dropped ;). The dash for crash into Hell was reasonably ordered, but a Porsche up ahead ended up on the grass on Mountain strait. I managed to avoid his re-entry (he was also being mindful), and start to pull along side. I got slightly ahead and he backed off at Griffins, putting me into P6 up the hill. The bug turns so nicely on tight corners that you can usually take them up a gear, which gives you something to drop down to if things go a bit wrong :dopey:. A car up ahead lost it at The Dipper, so up to P5. Me likey :D! Sadly my joy was short lived as I was passed by a Porsche (you know.. the skinny Beetle) at the kink on Conrod :(.

Second lap I maintained position till we got to Skyline where I managed a clean pass on the skinny Beetle. Another car binned it at The Dipper, so I found myself in P4. Me Likey :D! The Porsche almost managed to pull off the same track as last lap, but I had a better exit out of Forrest, so he had overlap, but not enough. I think he'd seen enough of my driving to realise that he would probably have another crack at me. He was passed by another Beetle at The Chase, which managed a clean pass on me up the inside at Griffins.

The Porsche, which was still behind me, was all over my arse through Skyline to Forrest Elbow. I managed a very tiny gap down Conrod, so he didn't manage to pull his trick at the kink, but he was all over me again into the chase. My exit to Hells was less than elegant, involving a large cloud of dirt. He got me at Griffins, then a GT-R got me on the climb to The Cutting :(.

I chased the GT-R then lap 6 he binned it at Hells and back up a place I go :D. I almost caught up to the Porsche, and the GT-R was closing the gap down Conrod, but he muffed it at The Chase in a 7s kinda way. I just couldn't manage to catch the Porsche, but the car in front of him was carrying a 5s penalty, so I finished P5. Me likey :D! The tyre wear on the Beetle is pretty good, at least for me. The last few laps if anything actually felt nicer. My race pace was consistently 2-3seconds faster than with the Mustang.

SR blue, DR went up 830. I'm guessing I'll be hitting DR/B/C grids shortly and the DR will start to tumble. In the mean time, the DR/C journey continues :D.

Maybe it's just time for you to become DR B? It's a fun ride nevertheless but you have grown a lot the last year!

Yeah, but everyone's an a-hole.

Now, just to clarify, are they a-holes, arse hats, or dickbags, ? I think accuracy in journalism is important ;). (Those last two seem anatomically suspect).

Have they never met an Englishman?:lol:

Mate, just wait till you get to Australia .

Yeh, I don't see that happening. Once I get grids with DR/B drivers, I go from facing slightly overly optimistic drivers or inexperience with traffic to out and outright dirty drivers. I doubt my DR will go much above where it is now :odd:.

I lost 1,001 DR in one B race last night!!!!! Dirty race full of Meganes...

Tried the C race and it was a dirty one too. Had a guy in a Jag who was purposefully punting in the warm up. Of course he's starting right in front of me. I get close to him on lap one and he brake checks me. What an idiot! Why even race if you're gonna do that BS?!?!

Lame night of racing for me last night. Might just wait for next weeks races. I can't keep a car stuck to the track at Bathurst AND be fast. Sardegna isn't too difficult but last night was my first time ever driving that track in that direction. Fun if the race is clean but the 3 races I ran were mostly dirty. I'm not going to bother with the A race. Love the track but the car doesn't excite me.

My DR hurts when racing at Sardegna
Mine hurt in Race A. I made it up from 12th to 5th on the first lap. Then, someone that was recovering was doing the "I'll lean on everyone to help me around corners". All of us that player "used", fell down the bottom and this cake eater finished 2nd.
