LOL nooooooooooo a slight nudge

So I picked sport mode back up because I somehow got it into my head that I need to have the platinum trophies for one of my favorite game series. And even though I'm a lowly C/S driver I've had some great fun and surprisingly clean races the past weeks. Even a slowpoke like me managed to win a few races and snag a couple of poles. But speaking of trophies, I noticed a difference in the stats I had in the acheivements page in game verses the website sporting stats. So which one matters for the trophies? I'd asume it'd be the game as that seems to make more sense.

bump and run final corner??? just make sure its last lap so no payback and dont bump the off. There is an art to the slight nudge if someone is clearly blocking. I know that might not be a popular decision but to me if the person doing the weaving/blocking was having it done to them they would to it to you..........
Problem was that this blocking caused a bit of a bottleneck so now certain expected braking patterns and now trashed and the 10 or so guys behind get screwed as a result. Whole race nearly ruined. Appears I gotta learn the art of the nudge. Or just not play at 2am just as the race goes live for the week.

Brands was fun.
No qualifying time, start from the back.
In the Mighty Mustang starting on hards. Pit end of lap 1 for mediums. Midway through the race I'm up to P11 to match my door number. Not sure how clean it was so far, but there's a lot of cars in the gravel, two at a time mainly.
Pit lap 11 for softs, come out in traffic so I hug the inside line at a reasonable speed and still get bumped, just go around the outside, please. Fortunately I stay on track, just.
A few pit and a couple out brake themselves, up to P 7 as I cross the line.
However, I get 2nd spot on the podium due to tyre rules
Clean race bonus and up 18 places.
14 racers didn't read the regulation tyre choices. Only one Swiss guy hung around to ask why.
Both accounts almost match DR in the B range.
Might have peaked early in the week :)

Speaking of blocking at Monza, what's proper protocol if someone is purposefully trying to prevent you from passing on the long final straight? To the point where you make a move halfway down the straight to the inside or outside and the driver in front keeps waving side to side.
Blocking on the straight is a dick move. :irked: Here's how you should respond:

Its so funny how different people play the game -- if someone has a good run on me, I'm going to let them have the spot so that I don't ruin my race by unintended contact. So much less risk.

Definitely pays to be more patient/friendly. Quickly learned that it's 50/50 you'll lose a bunch of spots getting into some battle that's not really worth it. When you can just take a deep breath and let the other guy go on flexing.

Everyone is pretty much shoehorned into the same 2 stop strategy

Strategies do seem to be quite variable, from what I've seen. Still getting those that don't realise they need to run all three tyres, trying a one stop strategy, and getting 20 seconds penalty as a reward! Had 5 of those in the last race I ran - unfortunately they were all behind me, so I didn't benefit at all....

I used the nudge many times not a punt a nudge sometimes good results sometimes bad. to be honest i really dont understand all this thats dirty this is dirty. I have seen these sports car drivers run each other out of room all the time hell I watched one vette bump and run another vette for the win at 24hrs of Daytona. F1 guys run each other wide all the time to hold or gain a position and thats real racing this is juat a game..........I think

Last Race B at Monza resulted in 11 of 16 getting red Sportsmanship with three dropping to A.

I got a penalty for looking at the crowd in an aggressive manner. I also got one for littering in the pit lane. Balanced those out with a 3 second penalty for getting punted into an adjoining field.

Oh the joy of it all ......

Monza is good fun if you're fan of pinball. Be careful of the big blocks flying around, they slow you down quite a lot. I don't know why people continue to swerve block or try to push you off on the straight and braking zones. At many corners punts are completely free with this penalty system

I'm running out of reasons to drive clean. Last race I got rammed off 4 times or more, couple times got a penalty for it, dropped from 3rd back down to 12th and to SR.A. Punt someone or bump them off, no penalty, gain positions. It can't be more backwards than it is now at Monza. The game does everything to convince you to drive dirty simply to survive.

Maybe SR.A will be cleaner, or just treat it like the game of pinball that it is. Monday war zone. At least it's not boring watching the gaps grow, and I don't have to worry about getting back in the even more dirty A/S lobbies. C/S was much better.

The game is completely bloken, they messed a good penalty system in the infamous update and never got it right Again.

Even the S lobbies are madness right now. Pubt intentionally and nothing happens, slight touch 2 seconds.

I got two phantom 4 sec. penalties in Monza right now. Someone behind me obliterated the car in front of me with a punt, I escaped both without a touch and a clean raceline...and got the 4 sec penalty.

Add to that, best believe you'll get a 2s penalty for simply breathing if someone forgets to hit the brakes and flies within 5 feet of you through turn 1.

Yep, last race I punted two people off and got the clean race bonus. First was one that rammed me off twice the race before and gave me a penalty with his dive bomb. The other tried to ram me off on the straight after first giving me space to pass (I had a lot of extra pace on him). He only moved over so I would be on the outside where he could push me onto the grass. He couldn't block my punt though.

The first one actually said sorry after the race and we agreed to race clean again from now on. It sucks that it has come to this but it works :/ The penalty system only encourages bad behavior, races were better without it. (current version)

Next race, another CRB, this time an actual clean race. I had a good battle with another RCZ, contact free, swapping positions until he fell back in the final lap. Always start clean, there are still those out there that simply want to have a good race.

i got dropped to A/A after getting a couple ptly of peple re- entering the track after going off @ suzuka (i always love those by the way you're just on track minding your business when an off tracker re enters hits you goes back off and you get the ptly) Anyway next race at A/A was in a mixed room of nothing above C/B and I was only one to finish the race lapped all the way up to 8th place and funny thing was the number on my car was 11 ??? seriously somthing wrong with the game will not be purchasing another this is the final one

The car number thing messes up when there are DR.C and DR.D drivers in the room. DR of the players is sorted alphabetically, thus 6,000 comes before 40,000. There are so many little bugs that should have been fixed long ago. Too busy modelling cars and now working on the next version I guess.

Seems like the RCZ is quickly becoming the META for Race B.

And it is nasty out there in the B/S rooms. Lots of red S's at the end, red dots and big penalties being handed out.

Even in the warm up, one racer ahead had 7 seconds of penalties as they headed off down Curva Grande.

Starting 15/16 in 2 races. Chaos as usual at turn 1, and just hang back watching others take themselves out.

On lap 2, had a racer behind me in an SLS not even slow down for Variente 1. I saw them coming, so slowed and watched them fly by, but they then got reset right in the middle of Variente 1, just as I'm right in the middle of the chicane. Boom, hit the "solid" ghost but thankfully no penalty. Due to the reset system, they almost gained a place by not even taking the corner!!

Got up to 5th by lap 3 and just watching the cars in front battle it out. Final lap, still in 5th, coming into Lesmo 1, the 2 battling RCZ's ahead take each other out. Thank you for 3rd place. 1st and 2nd were 4 seconds ahead, so it was just a cruise to the line.

Race 2 had an absolute beaut taking anyone and anything out. I was having a good battle with for 5/6th place when the beaut in 7th decided that there was no need to slow down for Variente 2. Took 5th out, and got 6 seconds of penalties, tried to edge me off at Lesmo 1 & 2, then weaved down all the way down to Ascari where I was right up their backside and 'forgot' to break entering Acari. Nudged them just enough to send them way into the kitty litter, and no penalty for me.

They had it coming, so I didn't, and don't feel guilty for it.

Caught up to 3rd and 4th, and coming into Variente 2 the draft messed me up and I nudged 4th, they went across the chicane and thankfully no penalties to either of us. I drop back a bit so not to take a place away.

Last lap, caught 4th up again, and had the drive on them coming out of Ascari. They weaved all the way down to Parabolica, blocking any move past. Coming into Parabolica, they shift to the left of the track, and brake early. I'm still on the right, brake a little later and cleanly take the corner and finish 4th.

I apologised at the end for the bump, and was kindly asked not to do it again. They totally ignored the fact they were weaving all the way down to the corner.

Finished 4th

1477 DR points for 2 races. I did feel a little dirty using the RCZ, but didn't realise it was so popular until I entered the lobby.

It is good around here though!!!

I graduated to B/S, but I suspect with what's going on at Monza, I should be down to C/C by Tuesday :lol:

It seems the SR loss for a penalty is back to -10. I got a one second BS penalty and dropped from 96 to 91, while Monza is worth 5 SR. Maybe it was just -5 for Big Willow. I'm back to SR.S anyway, got a few races in SR.A earlier and it's a little bit cleaner there. 90+ SR.S always delivers the true dirty crap.

Anyway SR is meaningless since 1.53. It wasn't all that good before but now it's completely random. According to KP currently 40% of drivers are SR.S, right...

I went from SR 99 to 74 in two races at Monz filled with knuckleheads. Before that, started top 3 and finished top 3 so hopefully more of that tonight. My love of this track will override any desire to care about DR/SR since we may not see this one for a while. Would be nice to get Laguna back next week.
