Come on mate, why would you use TCS in an FF?
I understand you're a TCS user, I am too in RWDs, but why anything above 2?
TCS 1 is useless, TCS 2 gets the job done. Anything more and you're scrubbing speed.

You’re wrong.
I crushed almost all at Bathurst in Megane TCS3, also Autopolis Megane TCS3.
Tcs1 to me on wheel is a useless setting on almost all cars, partially because it doesn’t work well to hustle the car at hairpins. Only tcs2 or more does that.
For me tcs1 is bad.
TCS3 let’s ff turn much better, It prevents exit understeer so you can use the right gear on exit instead of bogging the higher gear to prevent wheelspin.
For most players on controller though it seems they dislike tcs very much...
FF sucks at exiting if you even look at throttle too early. Tcs 3 gives you as much traction as the game has without going over that.
So you use 3-5 percent more throttle on exit 3-4 percent earlier, and the game keeps the car settled and accelerating.
Yes. If you have no ability to modulate throttle and steering might as well turn it off and fry tires...

OK for a fair comparison 9 TTs in front of me (4 are Bs, we're Cs) all between 0.5 and 1 sec better Q than me. I came 2nd and a Megane won. I passed every car on the track except 1 who pitted putting me in 4th. The guy who pitted passed me and he fought with another TT he lost and the other guy had a 5 sec as he crossed the line giving me second. Even without that though I passed 7 TTs in the race all of them technically faster than me. TT sucks.
I can see in higher lobbies where skill levels are more even and the cars plays a big part that I wouldn't have a chance but high C, low Bs I can beat the odds. OOOO a nice 3,300 DR gain, OK it includes the 1200 for going to B.

I feel like I must play a different game than you.

The TT is all of the spots on the top of the leaderboard. Your ability (or lack there of) to drive the car doesn't make the car "suck" in any sort of objective way. Part of getting better in this game is figuring out how to drive different cars.

Good throttle control beats TCS in 9/10 cases. I’d rather decide for myself when my tires spin, than let the car do it for me. Especially in MR cars, sometimes you NEED wheel spin to save a slide, with TCS on you can’t power out and the car just goes around a lot easier. 👍

By using TCS too much/often, your kind of robbing yourself of learning throttle control, which is a vital skill in getting faster. :)

Just out of curiosity but do you turn the TCS down when you're on straights for quicker gear changes? I know I'm on DS4 and I don't use TCS at all or BB for that matter but these aren't issues for me, just adjust.

100%, the more “crutches” one creates for themselves by saying “I can’t” do something, the longer it will take to build up skill. You should be forcing yourself to drive every car, on every tire, at every track. You will never learn how to drive them any other way. 👍

...Qualifying is EXTREMELY tight, I was in an all S/B room last night and 2nd through 13th was separated by less than a second, which is just crazy.

...
I have noticed this in mid to upper B-99 rooms lately. Almost the whole grid within a second. I had one race a few weeks ago where I was qualified 8th, less than 3 tenths from pole and everyone through 16th was within a second. Tough races.

With the amount of time I have into driving this game...I doubt I will ever be able to run no tcs effectively and reliably.
It’s too difficult, you have to be too perfect.
I have like 1500-1600 hours drive time, and still tcs works better...
More power to you guys who can run without it reliably in gr3, I can’t.
I see many many players binning it and capitalize on it by consistent.
In golf terms I’m Zach Johnson

He is right, the TT sucks. All group 4 cars suck, they are the dullest things to drive in the game, GT4 is nice in PCARS because they slide around a little. The TT sucks but it's fastest.

I think you could for sure man, I’d be happy to jump into a lobbby with you some night to work on it with you. I 100% know you can do it. 👍

I'm not so sure TCS will save you at BH from binning it. Lol. It doesn't take much.

I attack the curbs, but really it’s getting to throttle early for me. I can be too early without getting loose.
It’s not about binning it. I ran low 23 in race at BH yesterday which was the leaders pace, just gotta get a better q time. 22.7 too slow.
I see you’re using the GT.
I’d pick Ford in FIA every time if the gr3 was better...
How is the GT once you learn it?
I’ve never really spent much time in it...

Edit the TT is a very fun car, I just tend to avoid using it because I like being different. If it was serious though, I’d use it. You have to until they change BOP.
It pretty much has better everything everywhere on RM tire

Double edit

Ok I’ll go no TCS the next 2 weeks starting tonight...We will see what happens...

I'm really hoping the rumored forthcoming BoP update adds a significant horsepower bump to all the Gr. 4 cars, they have way too much grip for the current power level.

Your both right, but I grew up with rear wheel drive, then this new fangled FF came in. Yes I know FF was used before this, but not very common it wasn't till the late 70s that FF cars were common. I never liked them they just aren't fun to drive so I avoid them. Then this game is rigged so FF cars do better and I just rebel. I would be a better driver if I learned how to drive FFs, but I'll just fight the META any way I can.

I think the Ford GT is amazing but I'm probably only person who will tell you that  I wouldn't touch the Gr3 Mustang at all.

It's a great car though has more than enough power even though PD cut it's balls off and it handles well. The problem is tirewear, probably up there with the worst especially on DS4. The fuel is manageable enough and less of an issue for me now days.

It's been fun at BH though I'm lapping around 22.3 - 22.4s in race pace. Mostly Beetles who can hang with me but even in slipstream I'm pulling away from them

Enjoying the Brands Hatch daily race.. It seems that if I stay on the track I can gain a few spots on the more aggressive drivers.

The Monza/Renault DR is pretty frustrating and I don't really get it. A slew of little cars pinch into the chicane 10 seconds into the race. Pretty much randomly 3 or 4 get spit out in the right direction, and the rest are like cattle trying to get out of a pen. I have been bounced out and spun around about three times and by the time I see pavement again I am 10 seconds out. Plus, except for the two short right handers after the 2nd chicane there is nothing really interesting about the race. Perhaps there are things I can be doing to change my fate, but it just seems that my lot in a race is pretty much set after the 1st chicane. Also, the qualifying times have a huge gap. At my level I am seeing 3 or 4 seconds between 1st and 10th at times..

No. I’m going to switch to no TCS the next two weeks and give reports on my experience with it off.

Although they have doing a bit better with daily race combos lately imo, this is a step backwards.
What a terrible idea for a race combo. :yuck:

Agreed. Won’t be touching that one!
Imo they should keep race A race A and do fun and challenging N car races. There’s so many cars that never get used...

Don't worry, you're not alone. I'm usually only one of my friends on leaderboards not in FF car. This is also why I suck  but I'm constantly going against the grain... even in Top 16 race I was only one not in McClaren lol!

Just remember patience with TCS off... let the gearing do the work for you with smooth throttle inputs no stabbing

I think TCS is a tool and as such you use it when needed. So this week race C is GR4 and I'm using the Evo with TCS 0, tried the Megane and had to use 2 to make that work for me. I've even used it on some N whatever cars that spin especially when they give us hard tyres. Those who never need it are lucky (well good obviously) and those who avoid it for macho reasons are stupid. I try my best to not use it, but if I need it I use it. Losing a few tenths because TCS is eating some power is better than watching your car do pirouettes and there's nothing you can do about it.

We will see what happens...I need a change definitely.

Re gr4 Tsukuba, come on man. Might as well run gr1 Horse Thief Mile. Tsukuba will never be fun past n200 imo

Don't know why I bother trying to play nice. Finally back to B/S (OK it didn't take long) and first games idiots everywhere. Guy tries to take me at corkscrew, I give room for his stupid move and he tries to drive me off the road. I get 3 secs. At the end he says I'm dirty, OK I did get him back and I shouldn't but by this stage they should have some sort of clue. It's more fun at D/D where getting hit is part of the game and you don't expect any better.

As an aussie I can tell you bathurst is downforce, power then mechanical grip. GT3 cars circulate about 3 seconds faster than v8 supercars despite a 100hp deficit.

I'm this game aston will be king, especially with grippy tyres and 100pc you need to pit, penalty at bathurst is small.

I like the merc too as exits are key and nothing launches off a corner or over bumps like the merc.
