Second race down, Race B. I'm digging the M4. I waited till after the update to give it a go, and I haven't been disappointed. Another race with me the only Non-Japanese on the grid. Started at P11, but looking at the qualification times, there wasn't much in it.

I made it through the first 2 corners unscathed as I gently picked my way through the mayhem, but that was short lived . Got bashed a bit on the first lap, but pretty quite after that. Had some near misses door to door on some of the corners. Somehow I worked my up to 5th place, but on the last lap the door to door on turn 11 wasn't quite as controlled, and I took the inside, but knocked the guy in 4th coming out of the turn. Totally my fault. No SR penalty but I did get a time penalty. Upshot was I crossed in 4th but finished 7th. DR up and SR dropped by 3. That last contact I believe should have been worth more. :odd:

Don't know why you guys are complaining about Race C. Had a ripper of a race there. Night racing is a rarity in daily racing, so it was refreshing. Quali'd second and kept consistent and finished in the same place, only one penalty for hitting a slow car off at Forrest Elbow when they blocked my line under braking (you know how narrow it is there...), but it was clean racing for the rest.

Here is my most exciting race from yesterday. 2 laps of chasing one car that ended in a virtual tie, exact same finish time. I lose him a bit towards to end of the first lap, then catch up at the beginning of lap 2 to stay between 0.5 and 0.1s behind all the way to the straight where I finally pass him. He has a better corner exit in lap 2 and catches up right on the finish line.

Also a completely unnecessary and unfair penalty at the start that ruined the opportunity to see what the game does in a virtual tie...

Manthey? The one you need sun glasses to look at?
That's the one. It temporarily blinds the opposition, making for easy overtakes :sly:

With that out of the way, guess who had to deal with this very scenario? I can't make this stuff up. If you ask me how I did everything in this video, the stars aligned.
Nice moves. Similar to my case. I think my problem was that I lacked the trust that he would keep his car off mine and I just botched it due to nerves. I'd rather run wide and lose one spot than get spun by the guy after a really tough day of bad mistakes.

I just don't expect one to hold an overlap through such a fast bend when their front bumper isn't even up to my rear wheels yet, and I was caught by surprise.

I pulled a move on someone later where we were full side by side with me trying on the inside. I watched him and was ready to back off, but I saw him brake very early and knew I could take it.

Had a guy threaten me with Sport Mode banishment the other night because he “used to work for Sony.” All of this happened after he kept tapping me from behind and saying “U r a ****ing idot.” Yes, he misspelled idiot. Anyway, I hope Sony’s hiring standards are a lot higher.

People still do this in 2018???:lol:

In my experience, the best way to handle a possible overtaking moment at 130R is... try to avoid getting into that situation altogether. Even with the top guys, I've seen it end in tears many times over because unless the lead car botches their exit out of Spoon, that uphill stretch makes getting enough of a run to get the overlap more difficult than expected. Add to that the whole length of the stretch to think about what to do leads to dicey decision-making. One chooses wrong and it's disaster.

A different look at 130R.

The inside line is too tight to have good exit speed. What happen most of the time, the guy on the outside brake early or just throw himself out (doesn't know how to quickly adjust and run a wider line).
That move is usually poorly executed by the inside guy though... It's just a divebomb. (That's not how I drive.)

I just wanted to make you nervous... :sly:

Got wrecked from behind in Turn 1 at Magoirre and hit a wall a little bit ago. Apparently, it was a wreck involving several cars. Post-race chat, someone asks who forgot to brake at Turn 1 and someone else says it was me. I shot back at the guy that he needs to stop blindly accusing people and watch a damn replay. Then he says “Or the guy behind him.” Tired of idiots throwing blame around like that. If I did that, I would’ve gotten a pentalty and quite possibly an SR downgrade. But nah, Blue S and zero penalties. The accuser and the guy that hit me can both eat it.

Trust is the key word here. If you know who you're racing with, then you have a better idea on what to do. I was lucky I remembered Nic from GT6 and decided I was going to hold that outside line believing that any contact would be unintentional. I have to check but I think the same race had another 130R moment with different that ended in the more usual fashion.

Well, you certainly did a good job at that.

I am soooo tired of these “drivers” that ram and barge to gain positions. I just said screw it in my last race and tanked my SR. Dropped to 6. I know, I should know better buts it’s been like this all day on Lago. GRRRRRR

@Nick Cannella I share your pain, enjoy.

The driving is so much different in the lower SR ranks. It's really ridiculous. I'm certainly not the fastest driver, but I worked hard to get and maintain that S/SR rating. An hour ago, I dropped to E (with 6 points) and figured, what the heck, one more race. That race, I simply dropped to the back of the pack, after starting 7th out of 15th, and just took it easy. My DR took a beating, but I managed to get the SR back to C, with a whole whopping 22 points now.
So, I basically have to tank the rest of my DR to get my SR back to S? That stinks...

It really doesn’t take too long to get back to where you were. Most of those lower class races are comprised of bad drivers that wreck all too often and dirtbags that whiff in dive bomb/sideswipe attempts. Get some clean races in and move up on the grid consecutively and it should rise substantially.

I’m back on 11k after the big crash, those are the easiest points to win back because there’s no competition at those ranks. I start on pole and win at a canter, it’s easy SR as well. The higher I climb the tougher the opposition will be so I’ll end up relegated to mid pack and be back to square one.

Don’t say get to SR:S and it’ll be ok because we all know that rank isn’t necessarily sunshine and roses

Thanks, I'll get back at it tomorrow or Tuesday. I'm done for today. LOL

I will never even sniff SR/S or A for that matter. I'm content being a DR/B, and if I can rise up a little more, cool. I took a lot of pride in the SR/S however, as I will always try to race as clean as possible, sans mistakes by me.

I'm asking for some reference ...
We got a similar Q laptime, but what's your best lap in race ? Sometimes I think my consistency could be better, so ... ;)
My most consistent races are all in the low 2:04s :)
But when I was by the end of my play session I was reaching 2:05

Is there a way to report unsportsmanlike behaviour and cheating with in GTS? I’ve come across this guy PSN ID: LORD_OF_COSMOS, completely ruined a daily race I was in, Then I saw him at the top of the leaderboards with an insane qually time at willow springs, I checked the replay and relaized why https://www.gran-turismo.com/gb/gtsport/user/replay/1073399/4755877079785964552 (not sure if that link will work but my PSN ID is TheLeggacy if you want to see it) I’ve checked his profile on Kudosprime his SR and DR are all over the place. I guess he’s just a Pro GT Troll.

Use report button after race?
But I dunno how it affect with them, with it ban them 1 race or make their DR and SR lower

Yep, the same here :). However, I even reached 2.20 sometimes when something supernatural forced me to insanely slow down. Gotta work on that  ...

So frustrated. Six or seven races to gain about 400 DR points. Get a ten second penalty in a single race and finish 15th. I loose over 1,000 DR points! I'm thinking of just tanking all my ratings to get easy wins for the 91 trophy...

I don't know how you can say that? Being an SR/S in the lower ranks is a wonderful place, full of rainbows and unicorns, where all your dreams come true!! :dopey: No one ever crashes or drives into you or anything! ;)

I had a bit of a look at your video (after watching Sebring and two Bathurst enduros recently I can't realy handle more than a few laps watching a virtual car ;) ). I think you will find that some of what you deem "dirty racing" is simply a lack of experience and car control. The attempted brake check was more likely slowing for a penalty and not seeing you. The radar doesn't register you until you are practically on top of the car in front.

Should've told him you know Kaz.

Started my redemption tour after dr reset last thursday. Back from D/E to B/S during the weekend. Very nice races. The Mazda race @ Streets of Willow was actually pretty nice. Perfect car for that track.

On Lago GP I tried different cars (Veyron, Huracan, Atenza) before going back to Citroen and it was easily the fastest car for me, again. Never get tired of Lago.. What a track.. Had one race where I chased the lead car for all four laps and in the last uphill hairpin managed to pass him. Heart was about to explode :D

Finally got the Schumi trophy (408 races). Senna left and then it's time to participate in longer races.

Today's races?!?
