That’s me in second. The Peugeot has a usable cockpit view! It doesn’t steer like a dump truck!
I enjoyed using it. So far it’s the only modern that I can get into.

Anyways, I wanted to post that photo of me in second behind this Brazilian in the TS050.
This was one of the best races I’ve had lately.
This guy drove like a pro.
We were on the same strategy 1-2 the whole race with never more than 3 seconds separating us.
It was just really fun to race against him.
I’m still not a huge fan of Spa, but I am a fan of clean races.

Just raced the king in daily A.
I was on pole, he was P3.
He wiped P2 in C1 and launched it inside C3 to pass/push me and I got a 1" pen.
I caught him a couple of corners after I served the 1" and he immediately began his "defensive" shenanigans.
He tried to pull the pit wall move on me and he managed to get me another pen so I chose to retaliate. I took him out and PITted him when he tried to get back on track.
He finished 11th and last, and although I could have taken 3rd, I hit a slow P3 almost parked in the last chicane and got me another 1" pen. I ended the race in P5 but my SR went from 99 to 66.
In the post-race lobby he was very vocal about it.

I havent had those problems with him myself, but if he is really pulling that then go for it. He needs an adjustment if he is really driving that way. I'll be out testing that tomorrow after my lazy slow drive in FIA so will be on the lookout.

In (correction)13 Race A's in a row I finished in the top 5 with some 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place wins and got back up to B/S rating... Then I got put into a race with A+, A, and B rated racers and looked like a fool just trying to keep up and finishing in last place. Oh well... It was fun anyway. I've been in the lobby tuning my SRT Tomahawk for max speed. 414mph downhill on route X so far.

I find it really hard to get inside the head of guys like that. A possible explanation - he does not think he is doing anything wrong. If he can hit and not get penalized then it is OK. If you hit back then it is not OK.

Or, he has the maturity level of a 10 year old.

Used the R18 for Race C last night. Its appalling how fast it is compared to some of the other Gr.1s in the game. The TS050 looks to be as quick from what I'm seeing, but I don't have one yet. If you can find a car that negates the hybrid of these cars it should be good enough, assuming you have enough top-end to keep a reasonable pace.

Admittedly, the racing is a bit more cool to watch when you're falling backwards a bit, since the battles get drawn out a bit more rather than just being a "one-and-done" thing. "Bad" hybrids will do that, but if your disposition is anti-time-loss and the drivers around you don't like to leave space, you're going to have a bad time.

I did get one win from DR/SR shenanigans, for a grand total of 12 wins in a little over 190 races.

Finally ran into drivers I recognized, like Wanobi and GT-Scuffs, so I think I'm back in the split that I'm supposed to be in. There was also a few TPC guys on last night - all of them setting no quali time. Didn't get to actually race them on track, though.



Unlike most of the recordings I do, this is what I actually see and do during the race. I ran out of space and forgot to delete a replay, so no cool angles to show nor can I see other people's races.


Speaking of replays, my library has one from a prior race where fast-forwarding crashes the game. Really weird bug. Does anybody else have this?

No penalty to the guy who ran me off the road.

I love this pen system. Life is good.

It doesn’t bother me at all that if I did that I’d get 2 seconds since it’s A vs B.
B doesn’t have to race A fairly.

I know I do better when I race with that mindset.
I just did an A race from the back. I got hit a few times on the first lap. Since I started the race at SR 75, I couldn't afford to retaliate.
I maintained my patience, and won by 4 seconds.

The track is waaay better than Spa though!

Edit re the replay glitch I’ve noticed it occurs pretty often if there’s certain big names in race and they have troubles or lose.
Or anyways it’s pretty common when racing upper splits.

Lol lap 1 nun nut behind me. I asked if he was going to ram again. He said no. So he dives turn 3 from half a mile back, probably afraid of getting t boned by the Brazilian who was looking for revenge. I have to basically lift and run wide and get the brunt of the Brazilian ram!

So I’m Amish today. I have seven CRB in a row.
I’ve gotten rammed in 4 out of 7 A races I have entered.
I wish the rammers well!

This is the trouble with being a pacifist and expecting people to race fairly. They don’t!
I’m hoping to get to DR B soon so I can start ramming all the A drivers turn 1 and 3 and not getting penalized.

Finally got to jump in the Gr. 1 cars again today, on one of my better combinations.

Set a 1:55.445 for my quali time in the R18 and entered two races.

First one was in said R18, and that one was… forgettable. Started 5th, but didn’t have any harmony at all with the car on high fuel and Mediums. Pitted for Softs after a very messy 4-lap stint and had some clean battles to finish a very distant 8th. Basically didn’t have any boost after the first two corners and a really weird lack of straightline speed, even in the slipstream of another car. Front right tyre was totally dead by the time I came to the finish.

Changed to the TS050 in the second race. Started 9th and worked my way up to 5th with 5-lap runs on Mediums and Softs. Highlight of the race was an overtake through Eau Rouge and chasing down 4th (another TS050) and 3rd (Peugeot 908) over the final two laps. Had the best pace out of us three, but unfortunately the laps ran out. Might’ve actually grabbed 3rd with one or two more.

Most fascinating was the gap to the winner, though. 28s in the first race, 9s in the second. Part of that was an incident and the battling in the first race, but I reckon 13-15 seconds of that came just from the change in car.

Went back to quali after that and actually shaved a bit of time off my best attempt to land on a 1:55.286. Rather pleased with that – almost 0.9s quicker than my target on KPrime.

It's the replay that top off the free space. It's probably incomplete also. Happened to me couple of time, it's a pain when you want to look at a particular event.

On a track a dozen FUGUz wide DO NOT take an alternate line!
If the car ahead goes defensive just sledgehammer through!
That way you don’t have to think at all!

I am going to quit now though. There’s no way to play if a track is fifty yards wide and being ahead and going inside means getting rammed!

In case anyone's interested I took a look at which tracks we have and haven't used over the past year as well as the most used cars, and combos !

I got my qualifying time to a 1:29:936, which met my goal. It could have been better, but I’ll take it. Starting in the mid-pack for provides for some interesting racing as opposed to starting up front. Lots of door banging and some ill-advised lunges from a few fellow racers but nothing too bad in my eyes. I got to the point today where I was starting near the back and I can’t keep up with the race pace, so I’m done for the week.

Next week’s races don’t interest me, so I won’t be participating. I’ll do some single player stuff and see what the next set of races are. I’ve also achieved my highest DR total I’ve had to date. Hooray!

I wish that there was a way to see the most common lobby combos (that actually have races)

Yep, it is fun as long as it doesn't impede the race flow. I got punted today going into turn 1 today by a driver that didn't brake in time or was trying to make a dive-bomb attempt and forgot to turn. I don't know what thew were doing. Fortunately, I was able to recover and keep going. But that was enough for me in addition to what I said about not keeping up with the race pace to stop for the week.

From seeing a post a few pages back where it showed the post race screen I noticed something. He was spamming the chat with banana messages like he was actually being a minion. So either they are a child or they are too much into character. Either way it should not really be an excuse for bad behaviour.

I had another good race with GR.1 at Spa where I started 7th and finish 4th. Engaging in a four way battle with different types of cars made for a action pack race. No dirty move except maybe one where a Audi overshoot is braking for Les Combes and when he rejoins, he's targeting the racing line and me. I put two wheels on the grass and keep the throttle, on the right hander before Bruxelles we are side by side and I'm well aware his there, I turn in tight but he turn in on me like I wasn't there and bounce back in the sand. Sorry not sorry.

What's the breakdown if you just use car classes instead of models for the N cars? Even though I haven't had the game long, I feel like N400 and above is not used much.

That's that dodgy lower DR shield I think. Frustrating as it seems to encourage random taps for disaster penalties. Got one in my FIA race at Spa after we slowed down close in the bus stop and had the most minor tap, didnt even wiggle their car. But I got 2 seconds for knocking them off track.

And the lag and general crazy driving in that lobby was wild as well.
