Solid day. Managed to get the fastest lap of the day at Suzuka. Also a new personal best time with Gr.3.

I tried something insane today. I did a Suzuka race with the R8. Ran a 1:59.6 to Q which matched my prior best attempt.

As expected, the car went right off the track in T1 and was such a handful to keep the weight transfer in check at certain spots. I almost pulled off an impossible victory but I lost it at the chicane. I'll try again later, though.

1:58.6 is also a fast time. Really hard to get it right at Suzuka. 58.0 is definitely possible for me, but so hard to achieve. I saw that L-Shooter_RB26 did a 1:57,618 in Asia today...
I love Suzuka but your right it is really hard to put a perfect lap together. Still some minor errors in my lap but i dont think i will ever do a 1:57.6 that is insane fast.

1:57.6 is just something from an another planet. Can't believe how he's able to do that kind of lap times. For me is that also impossible and I think that more fast players will struggle to get that lap time xD

1:58.6 in here in the Vette. Had a 1:58.4 going but blew it on the last corner :banghead:. But I agree a 1:57.6 is just insane. I really can't fathom how that is even possible, there's no way I could post that time in any car. I'd like see that lap for sure. Maybe he knows something we don't.

I also would like to see that lap. I checked the leaderboards with my Asian account. Unfortunately I can't watch his replay, because he canceled to upload his lap...

Hmmm, interesting. Could just be a coincidence cause I've had a couple of my replays not upload for whatever reason, when I know for sure I didn't cancel them. Or it could be he's hiding something perhaps lol. I see him all the time near the top of the world leaderboard though so I don't doubt his skill at all but this lap in particular I kinda have to raise an eyebrow at :odd:

I agree with you. He's in my opinion the best Gran Turismo player of all time. Maybe 2 or 3 players that I know can challenge him. I know that I'm fast and I've a few World Records too, but I'm no way near the level of him.

Probably the most ridiculous thing that's happened to me in GTS so far...

So not only did I get crashed into, I got a gigantic ten second penalty that basically ruined my entire race.

That is sort of like getting disqualified in a boxing match because your opponent kicked you in the balls.

Stuff like this is why I have a love/hate relationship with GTS.

Something similar happened to me but kind of in reverse. Same track. Came round a corner and a car was parked sideways across the track and unghosted just as I T-boned him. Given the way your guy was off he should have been ghosted not solid running into you.

I have played every single night for 100 days and now I will be out of town for 5 days !
How will the withdrawal manifest itself ? Sweats, nausea .. ?
I will probably just watch you guys driving on YouTube instead ...
Be good out there ! :-)
GTPSP. 'Nuff said

I can't be the only one whose had problems with the rolling starts on today's Alsace daily...

Sometimes the AI makes our cars all cramped up together, resulting in stuff like this:

I’ve had that happen a couple times too now. This penalty situation is a mess. They should only do what they can do right.

Penalties don’t work reliably. Ghosting doesn’t work reliably.

My PB at Suzuka is a 2:00.012 and I guess there is a bit more to squeeze out if I get it right :D

PB is 2:02 :(

Just can't get a whole lap right there.

Edit: my bad, 2:01.713. Still only good enough for a last place start so it's academic really

Ah yes, only 5 was doesn't get penalty on that race
The sad situation is that this means nothing about "sportsmanship", or how they are brave enough to call it.
Getting penalized (over and over) if you are being touched from behind is not in any connection with your sportsmanship. Brake testing and blocking (can be seen in the "S" range too, whatever it means) is a different thing, but this system can not make the difference.
