Really like driving the Gr2 cars but they really need to tighten up the pyshics on them an this goes for almost all the cars in the game but the 360/720/1080 uncontrollable spins/wipeouts just because the tires SNIFF a little grass really has gotten old. I’ve watched motor sports for almost my entire life and have never seen that happen in real racing a bobble yes but nothing close to what this game replicates

Woah gr2 race C is fun!
Managed to survive with NSX on 1 pit only, geez that thing sucks fuel!:D:D

Did have to drive on FM 3-5 and short shift for 2nd part of the race, but got 4 positions through boxes after getting rammed off the track 4 times in a row by some Spaniard, just to get rammed off on t4 from behind by his buddy (followed by 5 sec penalty!?):banghead:, who then decides to serv penalty on the narrow straight after t4(5?) right in the middle after uphill.. No ghosting at all lol.. Ended up eating dirt there.

Still, so many people couldn't handle the consumption, woulda probably made it top 3-4 (started 13) without ramming off.

Feels like 15 laps is just about right: enough time to salvage something, enough time for morons to get disqualified (4 in my race) and enough to test strategies.

Still, NSX and fuel.. Feels really gimped compared to other cars, but I still love it:)

I showed those pesky Peugeots. First race, started 8th. Finished 6th. Second and last race, Started 2nd in my Mustang. Finished 2nd.

Race C was great, qualified as the fastest Honda (4th). Watched a GTR Spin from getting too hard onto the throttle at the exit of Druids, then overtook for a Lexus 2nd who understeered from the next corner.

One stopped with the NSX (due to some fuel management), came out just ahead of the Lexus I overtook due to taking on new tyres. After a lap of me trying to get ahead and him being unable to overtake (didn't block him), he/she decided to punt me off instead. Drove as hard as I could to catch up but couldn't make up the 8 second loss.

Only to see that very same Lexus run out of fuel on the final corner #karma :D

Well, I went on to Brands Hatch. Struggled a bit, but managed P9 for qualification amongst DR/A/B/Cs. I was kinda doing alright for the first few corners, got bumped a bit, then started making mistake after mistake when I knew I could do better. Finished P17 but my SR was back up to 99. Was so annoyed with myself that I went again.

Second race, again started P9, this time there was an S/S amongst the mix, but mostly Cs and Ds. This time I was being careful and running my own race. I was doing well, pitted P7, got an orange SR coming out of the pits.... on auto drive ! Came out of the pits P8, but managed to work my way up to P4. I passed P3 when they didn't get the line right on a corner and I got better drive. They didn't like that, and while I was already turning in and they were behind me, they just strait lined the inside, knocking me off . I given an orange SR for my trouble and was eventually respawned in P8, and managed a clean pass to finish P7. Kudos hasn't updated I think, because it's still listing my SR as 99 and I think the same DR I had after the first race.

I guess all the fast guys are still in bed this morning, I've managed 5 wins in 6 races on Race A and put up my first Top 10 lap time. Using the clutch is a huge advantage in the S-FR I'm finding. Much faster down the straightaways than shifting without it.
Yep, it's why I'm not bothering to race at Tsukuba for once. I am at a huge disadvantage and there is nothing I can do. I used 3rd gear a lot instead of 2nd to counteract it but I'm way off the pace compared to where I should be. So frustrating.

The other cars were doing a no stop strategy? I was getting 9 laps before I had to pit.

You can shift these cars really early and don’t lose much time. I was on P1 and tried to go for the fastest lap but couldn’t get any faster while revving it out. And those were some decent laps. I’m not sure if you lose time at all when you short shift.

1 decent result away from DR A:D

Wow, that GR2 race is hard work. 15 laps in a GR2 car at brands hatch is exhausting.
It is, especially in the current UK heatwave!

Very rewarding though, just drive steadily and watch everyone else go off......

Just had 2 races where I finished 4th, having started almost last - didn't overtake one car on track (but plenty whilst they were off!).

They were doing one-stop but on fuel map 1, or 2 super short stops still on fuel map 1 (asked in chat actually xD)

I follow the Petter Solberg philosophy. Go for it! I find it's too fiddly to mess with fuel maps and drive at the same time. I didn't find I was struggling to get more than half way. The only thing I was doing was cornering a gear higher than recommended.

Which car were you driving that you got 9 laps? I only got 7 out of the Lexus and I was trying to short shift as much as possible.

I don't know if this is the place to ask but does anybody know if they plan to bring the on-line time trials back .

Did it just me and my friend some Japanese player doing some hit and run mode in almost every race in GR.2? Like they have some glue to other lol, geh I tired to reported same person every end race duh.

Just had two Group 2 races. Really fun to drive and somewhat decent results as well. Finally on a way out of the hole I have gotten into lately.

I could barely squeeze out 5 of NSX driving normal, no chance I could do without 3 stops on FM1 and no shortshift lol

I was a bit nervous after reading about the GR2 race at Brands Hatch but I had a great time on the two races I attended. I did not have spectacularly good q-time at 1.19.2 and started 7 and finished 9 but harvested some good SR points.
That must have pushed me up in another level because now my time only yielded a start from 17 on the grid
I thought that would be mayhem but it was alright. I managed to spin out but recovered and managed to end on 17.
I did not have any issues with just one stop for gas even with no changes to the fuel settings.

As someone said, the race is long enough to actually be able to recover.

Also, due the last race I got the biggest SR lift so far so now I'm back on 99 !
So it was a good time with the Gr2 Honda for the first time. :gtpflag:

How did you manage with 1 stop in nsx without fuel map or shortshift?
Share the wisdom :D

I was using the NSX. First race I spent more time off the track than on, and I pitted at the end of the 8th lap. Second race I pitted at the end of the 9th lap and didn't have any offs. I didn't touch the fuel map, it was whatever the default setting is. I didn't short shift, I just used a taller gear than recommended for cornering.

My first race of the day, Brand's hatch in the RC F, it's going great. I'm in third, fuel saved early and I'm caught up with second, planning my pass since he's now fuel saving. We enter the last lap, disconnected from network. Grrr.

Brutal, worst case scenario
Kinda like my round at pitch n putt today
Everything started out right, kept it on the green and saved pars for the first 10 holes then proceeded to shank 3 in a row to pick up 6 shots in 3 holes...
morale goes down the shoot, finish 8 over.
First sunny day in 2 months, hopefully my gr.2's go better tonight...

*edit I think my brain disconnected from my hands

Redemption, second race. I'm now behind first, instead of attempting to pass I go to fuel map 2 every time I'm close enough behind. That helps me squeeze out an extra lap so I can pit at the end of 8. I come out of the pit behind him, yet with fresher tires and can go full out until the end. I wait patiently for him to make a mistake, which pays off, pass him safely in lap 11 after which he quickly falls behind. Victory with clean race bonus.

cant wait to try Brands out in a bit
last night was fun in gr.3
2 should be fun as well..
hopefully see ya'll out there

Imagine if they add a couple more gr.2's maybe 3's and ever 4's in the next update and maybe Silverstone and deepforest.
This game only keeps getting better...

I started Gr3 at Tokyo in next to last place, had some luck and got to 8th but couldn't pass for 7th. I got real nice run out of the final hairpin plus a good draft. 7th tried to block me from passing but I swerved and shot past 3 cars just before the finish line to nab 4th place.

Then I ran across a fellow at Tsukuba that ruins every race I see him in. All was going well, got to 4th from last (again) and I'm far enough behind him to not worry. He gets loose just before the finish line, hits something, bounces back across the track and hits me. He gets 3rd place, I get a nice penalty and drop to 8th. Then game rewards me with "you went up 3 positions, great race" yea, phooey. :yuck:

Into the 58 territory on Race B now :D

Well, nothing really. Perhaps it was because I was in the back of the field and the pace was lower, but I also filled up slightly more than needed. I dont think I lost anything on doing that.
