You’re telling me, that you lost 70 points from two separate ten second penalties, both of which were minor taps that didn’t affect anyones race?

The higher you fly, the further you fall. The penalties are greater the higher up the DR you go. I can pretty well much guarantee that whatever she did to get a 10s penalty would have only been a 2s penalty for me.

Yes .. at DR S, or A+ now I suppose, a 10 second penalty costs anywhere between 15 and 30 SR alone. Maybe not 30 since the patch but it's still at least 15, the reason I know this is because I've been shunted into the back of people giving me a 10 second penalty in races that I've otherwise had no penalties or cuts or anything like that in more than once, and lost 15+ SR overall for the race. Every single one of the A+ drivers I have added to my friends list have been DR reset more than once and all of them are well mannered drivers so it's not like it's just some freak thing that happened to me. Another user, raceface85, has been reset all the way down from the DR cap to DR C in one day in a similar manner to me. And from racing with him I can tell you he's as polite a driver as I've seen on GT sport

Because they have great power but less downforce-> long brakezones & low curve ability -> very likely missing break points -> crash festival.

Wow some people really can't handle losing positions on race C..
Got rammed off 4 times by people going of the track and ghosting out then swiftly cutting corner right into me so they go back to their precious 5th -10th place..
They like make effort to side push out everyone off their way lol
Was too fast to rage quit after race end, really wanted to save replay:ouch:

Ended up being the only one with red S rating in race, while I was surrounded by bumper cars flashing red most of the 13 laps:confused:

I had the same thing happen to me. It already started bad with auto drive messing up the start giving the car behind me just enough pace to stick the edge of his nose on the inside on my bumper in T1, pushed me off and went off himself as well. At least he got a penalty for that and not me.
The bad one was where a ghosted car was getting back up to speed on the driving line at the long segmented right turn, I avoid him by going on the inside yet he unghosts when I'm alongside and promptly turns into me, giving me a 10 sec penalty.... Then a few laps later a car tries to overtake in the chicane, I slow down extra and leave space not to hit him, he hits me anyway, another 3 sec.
That was enough for me to get a red rating while the 3 cars that drove into me remained blue...

I love GR.2 yet Gardens is just a bad and boring track, I think I'll add it to my avoid list. I didn't enjoy it much the first time it was on either.

Yamigawa had some good racing today. I build up a nice clean streak with the only blemish, getting accused of dirty driving. It was mistaken identity, he claimed I forced him off in the chicane in the first lap. I was in 16th in the first lap, he in 9th, and I passed him while he was rejoining the track ghosted... We talked it out, he apologized, so all good. Wrong Canadian.

For some reason matchmaking kept putting me in 15th to start in the daily B, and although I make up 6 places per race, that's still negative DR. I guess I was just fast enough to play with the A+ crowd, which shows another flaw in the DR system. With the same qualifying time I got matched in 4th in an earlier race and got points without gaining any positions.

These daily races with boringly slow commercial cars have got to stop. I have no interest in racing around in a Ford Raptor pickup truck or a Mazda Roadster. Why can't we we race each other in Ferraris or Lambos or McClarens instead? You know... FUN cars?

Wow that’s insane! I apologise for calling you out on it, I had no idea the penalties were THAT severe at the top end of the spectrum. Maybe I’ll stick to being on the safer side of DR A

These are the exact reasons why this game is not ready and why we can call it defective.
What Famine said is true - sometimes. Perhaps most of the times. And as Sofia Speed wrote...
You can not count on the system’s reasonable and fair working. It is changing, seems as if PD is just experimenting how this will be OK or at last acceptable.
So do the “power users”. Experimenting, how can be avoided penalties after the moves which result in position, but not quite clear - if the systems allows. And this is not fair with the rest of the field, who doesn’t spend half of the days playing and fiddling out the actual glitches, just wants to drive or race for the spare times. At least I think so.

Well with all that said, it's much better since the april update because 10 second penalties are quite rare unless you're very clearly at fault now. You should just aim as high as you can, as annoying as it is it's not really the end of the world if you lose some SR or DR every so often

If you don't like the races today give the GTP_WRS time trials a try. It's what I do everyday or the whole week that the dailies don't appeal to me.
It's a great group of guys and great competition. There's three 50 minute lobby race's a week with moderators in attendance. And the Time trials are a week long.

New TT's posted every Sunday night. Look it over. Don't be surprised if competing in the TT's doesn't make you faster than you already are.

Yeah I was about to win when that greek guy pulled a Verstappen move on me after he messed up the first chicane and I went past him. I then spun out before the quad-right and lost all 4 positions I gained :banghead:
