Brand's hatch sucked yesterday between 8 and 9, got rammed and pushed off every race. Between the hours of 7 est (4 pst) and 9 est (6 pst) is always the dirtiest and driving from the back was no good on Brand's. So I did all the Fuji Speedway races in GT League :)

Now seeing this list, next week is going to be awesome! I wonder what the One make will be for the Nordschleife.

Then because I'm one of those weirdos that can't race a car that's not liveried I had to paint her...1 hour later and I've lost the night for racing.

<raises hand> Guilty. I always feel a bit sad when I enter a race and I see all these clones that have whatever livery the car came with. Doesn't take me and hour though to tart up a car. My personal livery is pretty simple and only requires a few home brewed decals and a lick of paint. But I never race naked, I always murder a car out before it goes public :p. There is one car I'm working on a replica livery for. My livery is so much less painful!.

What group are the new Porsches?

Please be the new '08 Porsche on sport hard tyres. I was running that for fun lastnight on Nordschleife and my word, it's a dream to drive.

""I never race naked."

It took an hour because I started by doing the late 80's FINA MOTOR OIL which was infinitely easier and then decided to upgrade to Warsteiner half way through. The pattern on the rear was a pain because each colour (grey, black, light & dark blue, red) needed it's own decal and as they moved over the curve of the wheel arch the were deformed and changed size.

The Corvette above on the other hand took 5 minutes.:sly:

:gtpflag: I drive in bumper view so I don't see my car, so I couldn't care less how my car looks, or even which one it is, as long as it's fast and stable :D

I just hate renault yellow and that's the only thing I regularly change.

The 01 and 08 911 GT3s are both N400: http://www.kudosprime.com/gts/carlist.php?cartype=8

If I was to guess I'd say 01, since it was almost in a GT game previously.

Another race at Brands Bash. I took the AMG GT3 for a spin and beat my qualifying time from last night. I swear, the faster I drive, the lower down the grid I qualify ! This time P11/16, mixed grid of DR/C and D with a stray B.

This race was ugly. T1 wasn't too bad but things just went into decline from there. I picked up my first orange SR with a time penalty (4s) for quite a while. I had some good racing somewhere in amongst the madness, but I also faced a dilemma. Stick to the guy in front and risk loosing SR when he brakes at what to me seems odd places, or back off a bit and then get reamed by the pack behind .

I crossed the line in P5 but with 4s of penalty that dropped me back to P8.

A mixed bag. The SR downs cost me 9 points, so down to 90. The P8 finish got me 60 DR up. I'd rather have lost the 60 DR and kept the 9 SR :odd:. Day 3 of DR/C .

One of the reasons I stopped qualifying months and months ago.

Do a few flying laps to get the feel of the car and track, then quit just before the finish line, I'd note my lap time and then enter the race without qualifying. My 'time' would generally put me around 5th or 6th on the grid.

I'd then use my secondary account to qualify and generally get the same time (I'm the same driver rating, too) and I'd suddenly be in a totally faster group and start near the back. I'd start setting faster qualifying times and see absolutely no reward for it.

It's just easier, and more fun to start at the back. The system is gonna put me there anyway if I have a time or not!

Race B is fun this week. There are still a few idiots out there, but generally racing in Europe & N.A. has been clean, and lots of SR points up for grabs, too. Starting at the back and finishing around 5th to 7th is darn good in B/A & B/S rooms. I do feel kinda 'dirty' using the Beetle, but it's a nice car around Brands.

I take note of the game settings; track, number of laps, tyre & fuel wear rate etc and then go to "Arcade" and replicate it on Time Trial mode. It keeps a record of the cars you've used so you get a full list of not only your fastest but the order of fastest to slowest. Plus, you don't have to stop short of the line. Not sure if track limits are the same in Arcade TT though because the week of Daily B Gr4 on Maggiore I felt I was getting away with infractions that should have incurred penalties. Interestingly, and I thought I was mad at first (might still be), that time trial result also shows on my GT Community Course Records. I only noticed this because I did hot laps in Arcade for a track that I didn't actually get a chance to race or qualify on however my stats still showed the TT result.

No quali dailys in sport mode are like an advanced form of GT League where the "AI" aren't all that fast but "advanced" enough that they actively try to take you out and do everything those etiquette videos tell you not to do to try and keep you behind.
I wonder if those etiquette videos are multilingual, anyone?

Like, what if people legit don't understand what the guy is saying and think they're watching the demonstration of how to drive, instead of how not to drive?

I think they have subtitles.

I got back to SR99 (from 98 lol) at Brands in just the one race last night. I started 14th, was chasing down 8th approaching the final lap. Last corner on lap 5, the guy behind gave me a strong tap but I kept it moving forward. Coming in to turn 1 he hits me again, which gets me off line, and then he charged up the inside and knocked me off into the gravel. I watched four cars shoot past before I could get back on track, and I saw the culprit pick up a penalty as he went on to the hairpin. So at least that worked. Positions didn't change to the end. He was able to scrub off his penalty at the line and keep 8th place (which would have been mine, as the former 8th guy had an incident).

At the results everyone was blue S and penalty free except that guy who was red S. I lost 1000 hard-fought DR points :/

All in all it wasn't bad relative to other races I've been involved in, but still massively annoying to lose so much DR because of some idiot who didn't really lose anything himself.

Yup. Doing the videos in Portuguese would be a good idea. 💡

You can choose tire wear and fuel rates in time trial? I thought that was only available in custom races. Doesn't that also invalidate the leaderboard if circumstances are always different? (or do the leaderboard times not persist from one session to the next?)

I'd say it makes you between 0.5 to 1second faster.

Good that I don't drive this cars in the game, otherwise I would have to invest in a shifter. I have the clutch pedal, but only paddles on the wheel.

I thought PD fixed this by equipping all One makes with the upgraded transmission?

Yeah, the 2nd-3rd gear change with the shifter is where you gain the most time (3rd-4th there isn't too much difference). From my crude testing just doing 2nd-3rd on the exit onto the back straight, I was gaining at least 0.2 sec vs the delta on my paddle-only ghost on the straight. It's a bit hard to get an accurate number because it's hard to get the same exit. Given there is three 2nd-3rd gear changes in the lap, there is definitely 0.5 sec to gain per lap.

However, a few times I got a box full of neutrals trying to use the shifter. I'm not sure if it's because I was using a combo of paddle-shifting and manual-shifting during the lap. (I'm also using a G27 + shifter with a Drivehub wheel adapter).

i'm really getting ****ing sick of those ****** weekly races PD are pulling off , like the nordschleife with N400 cars really? might as well use karts!

Actually...you are correct!:D I explained that poorly. I do time trials to test the qualifying laps but sadly I also have to admit I sometimes do an AI race replicating the fuel & tyre wear to see what works. So yeh, Custom Races & Time Trials combined...before I enter a race... now that I type it I always wondered why I don’t have time to actually race more. I also wonder how I ended up on 1,300 DR points this week. Now I feel really sad.

It's been several weeks since I last did a daily race, but I quickly got back to my winning ways. I drove the M3 GT for the first time in the Brands Hatch race, and won it easy. I've only won first time out in 1 other car - the Porsche 919. And maybe the GT by Citroen Group 4 but I can't say for sure. Did the 86 race and came second, after some shenanigans in the mid-pack. It was fun.
