I wish people would stop dive bombing the first Ford chicane. Overtaking in a chicane is not advised in the first place and you can't establish significant overlap in a short braking zone before a early turn in point. In both my races I've been bumped out of the way, last one into a reset and no penalty for the car bumping me into a reset. I guess I'll have to drive on the left and brake extra, then they can fly by on the outside and get reset.

Day 2 of Sarthe is turning into track cut paradise. Feels like I'm the only one aiming to finish without a red dot, and that's all at SR.S. You gain a lot by cheating Tetre rouge, easily braking any draft, and even when it gets penalized it's 0.5 sec lol. Come on PD, fix your track limits.

I'm back to A/S from the daily C, catching up with the not so clean fast people in SR.S. Fun track to go fast!

Last race was clean and fast! Side by side through Mulsanne without a hitch. Still there was only one other driver that didn't have the red dot at the end. Adding a working penalty zone in the middle of the straight would take care of the red dot disease rather quick!

Well, the last 2 days have not been kind. Starting mid-pack in race C has been an SR killer for me. I've been punted in the brake zone early, and used for a berm late when people got fresh tires. Had a couple of good races...a 5th and a 6th, starting 9th and 10th, but still took an SR hit. I admit my driving was poor in the earlier races. Over cooked a couple corners on worn tires, but I got it together on the later races. The hairpin and chicane in the B race also took a toll. The C race had me down to SR-A, and 2 B races lost me over 50 points, and I'm down to C. Raced the Vette in A to gain about 250 DR and 7 SR. Was hoping for a clean race, but I got knocked into the wall once. I may run A until I'm back to at least an A rating. All the crazies are in SR-C races.

My SR is 84 right now and I'm not doing anything other than race B for fear of being demoted to A again (race B can still be sketchy though...). Does race A not murder SR as much as I think it does?

Yes, it's a big mess right now, but don't worry, i started to look at it today.
The reason is that following the previous update with the region split, PD didn't setup the official website correctly. I had to manually generate events and regions data without knowing what they would be once fixed, and now that PD fixed it, their regions don't match K' anymore. I need to remap everything and check for inconsistencies on previous leaderboards.
I expect to have all region leaderboards up by the end of the day.
The events list and the leaderboards should now work as intented.

I don't know if it's the site glitching but there's about 4 extra races up. I know @Milouse said he was working on leaderboards so it might be down to that

Edit: nvm I think it's the FIA races showing up on the events page as well now
It took me time to figure it out but that was indeed the FIA races that ended showing up in the daily page :D

Daily race C , track limit on "NORMAL" ?? is it ?? Really ??
This is what you have to do for an under 3mn lap.
This is really stupid. PD have to make an unique rule for track limits and stick with this.
I'm ok with the championship track limits , at least they are fair and you know the point you can't go.

With the wide track, and the speed diferential between drivers, I've found it easier to stay away. I've been taking the high line through T1, and the other turns sometimes. Usually I end up top 5 and we're pulling away, so I really only have to deal with a couple of cars.

Nice racing with you tonight @Sven Jurgens
I felt you hunting me down in both races.

Great racing with you! I can get close yet couldn't catch you... yet :) In that first race I got dive bombed in the first Ford chicane hence the drop. I've been racing this morning again, matchmaking has been scraping the barrel down to D/E to get 12 together. And the last race had half the field with 3 bars or less. The server must still be sleeping! 15 entries for the 7 am race, still a D/E in the race. 6 bad connections, got my work cut out ffor me. See you on the track!

Doh, someone serving a penalty right after the Dunlop chicane lap 1 then not paying attention to traffic coming from behind, rammed me at the apex, 4 sec penalty for me. Anyway I won from 13th with a 9 sec lead so it didn't matter. Still a red S from that one penalty...

Next up two SR.E's in the race, one starting right behind me in 16th, rip. Only 4 SR.S (including me) left lol. Interesting an Alpine VGT on pole, no stop, almost won. Lost by 0.19 since he had a 2 sec penalty left. It pays to drive clean. I finished 4th, penalty free, however only +4 SR as I got used as a brake 3 or 4 times.

Waiting for Race C to open up for entry. I did some qualifying laps with the Sauber, and despite its slower top speed (I could barely get it up to 359, I had the Jag up to 365), i beat the Jag by a bit, with an optimum 3s faster.

Settings for race A is “open” not “fixed “. I have a tune for the vette, I cannot enter my settings during qualifying. Does it allow me to change settings during warm up or something? If not, why is it saying settings are “open”?

I have the car in my inventory and have the custom settings saved. Obviously I cannot apply either. It would be a huge improvement (for me) if we could tweek the tune to some degree. At the very least give us one opportunity during our first Q then fix those settings and not allow changes or ability to revert. I believe it’s called “park ferme” . I could be mistaken.

If anyone knows please share if you would. I won’t waste time tuning if it has no value at all.

The cars in Race A are always provided by the game (except for the Fuji Gr.4 race where you can choose any Gr.4 car from your garage, but with no tuning)

Well, the game is pitting me against the aliens now. :scared: No wins today; there's at least one A+ or S in every room with ungodly pace. I must have encountered top 10 drivers three or four times today. Not that I'm complaining though, because I still got some podium finishes and quite a few rating points out of it.

Almost exclusively Tokyo today because I find myself to be most competitive there. The meta shifted in favor of the Huracán so I got myself one and it's indeed faster in some sections, but I can't seem to make a good lap stick like with the GT. My 1:32.512 isn't holding up that well anymore since I'm constantly running into low or sub 1:31 Q times. I friended one of the aliens after my last race and asked him for a replay, because he'd somehow managed a low 1:31 in the GT during the race.

I'm not nearly fast enough in race C... Can't get below 3:03, then again I haven't tried the shortcuts yet (thanks for the pics @praiano63). Interestingly enough, the one race C I tried today was won by an LM55 VGT.

DR 35353, SR 99

Race C with the Sauber was an eventful one, and not exactly in a good way . I did some qualifying laps and managed to shave some more time off my pre-qualifying time. The grid line up came as a bit of a shock. P4/13 . It was a mix of SR from S to B, but mostly DR/D and C with a couple of As and a B. Was a bit surprised to be starting ahead of 7 R92CPs.

The race starts and the first 3 cars have a bit advantage starting after the chicane. I knew there was going to be troubple with a string of METAs behind me. Sure enough I was passed on Mulsanne and dropped to P5. At Virage de Mulsanne I used the same braking point I had been using for qualifying.. and ended up in the sand. That didn't help with the handling later, but somehow still managed to hang on to P5 :scared:. At the Fixed Or Repaired Daily chicane I royally screwed up and got re-spawned in P9 with me shouting at the car "For 🤬 sake 🤬 move!!!". That didn't seem to have much effect as I slowly trundled off.

The handling was less than spectacular yet I still managed to find my way up to P6. I wasn't expecting anyone to pit, so when I came caneing round Dunlop I slammed into a red Mazda LM55. If burnell1981 is reading this, I'm *really* sorry :nervous:. That messed me up for the chicane and I dropped back to P9 with yet another re-spawn :yuck:. After that I was all over the place, but I seemed to get back some control on the final lap. Moved up to P7 in the process. I finished P7. The guy I hit finished where he started.. P3. I still had a laps worth of fuel in the tank at the end of the race and I wasn't realy short shifting.

SR still 99 and DR went up about 150. I knew I could drive better and it was really tempting to go again, but I hadn't lost any SR and my DR went up.. best to quit while I was ahead . Tomorrow I'll drive the META (the last of the Group C cars to drive this week). Another day above DR 1 :dopey:.

I am assuming you are showing us examples of a car out of bounds in every screenshot? Thats what I would call it anyway. My goal is to always keep 2 tires inside of the white track boundary marker. Why PD does not make this a standard in every race at every track I do not know, who has time to check every corner of every track for every race to see how far you can push the limits for a good lap time, some consistency from PD would be great.

My SR is getting "murdered in the black of night".

Nah. Not really but the song was playing and I am getting deductions for hitting cars trying to burn off penalties. Last 4 races I "hit" a car I thought was ghosted, obviously slowed down then decided to punch the gas right when I pass. That's a bit frustrating.

Been practicing some for c. I’m starting to get it down a little bit. Now, in this case the Nissan is clearly much faster on the straight.
Being a Ross Bentley disciple, I have been practicing with...
...
The META!
...
I also have the Mazda and Sauber. The Mazda handles nice...
I also have the Hyundai VGT, but too slow.
The Peugeot is a lovely drive but also slow.
And that’s whats in my quiver...
I’m wondering though how this changes in race with the tow.
Can the Peugeot be competitive with no chicane?

That was a fun race. I was surprised the guy in 2nd was using the one-stop strategy with this group.

I raced with him before. Since he's using softs he was punting everyone in braking zones. Hit me twice, and he still finished behind all the no-stoppers. I should have been more cautious since people were talking crap about him in the chat at the beginning of the race.

As far as I can tell, if you arn't running a Group C car, the LM55 seems to be the preferred option.

Thanks for clarifying. With N class cars, it feels like I’m driving a waterbed. Especially with classic cars.

Who knows, maybe some day they’ll make an exception and let us tune a one make race. :)

That was a fun race. I was surprised the guy in 2nd was using the one-stop strategy with this group.

The difference between the LM55 and the R92CP is really clear in that first sector. I wasn't too happy with how our exchange worked out lol, but I don't think any of it was intentional. I always forget that after going wide or off track the grip gets reduced for a while.

I'll see you out there :)

He got around me clean and we both lost no time but I was anticipating it and didn't fight so maybe I got lucky.

As a side note, I don't think the softs offer too much of an advantage. I set my 3:03 qualifying time using Sven's RM Front RH Rear strategy. I was surprised.

Those pics are coming from one of the top 10 2.57 replays south america . Sure I will not loose my time checking every corners . I just don't understand why they have 2 track limits rules. The one we race in FIA events would be enough and much more fair. Why allowing people to go off track ? This is the opposite of their educational speach.

Not sure what you mean. I'll watch the replay, again. If I hit you, I'm sorry. It definitely wasn't intentional.

Yeah they're definitely not worth using. IMO he was using softs to get his Fastest Lap trophy, that's the only reason I can think of as to why he was using them all night.

IIRC his fastest lap was only about 2 seconds quicker than mine on RM/RH.

I jumped into a time trial for half an hour and set a 1:32.380 in the Huracán, which took me from #280 to #235 on the European leaderboard. Apparently I’m running the first sector in low 1:31 pace, but the hairpin absolutely murders me and I can’t kill TCS because I’m using a pad :(

Sometimes you gotta get in where you fit in.
Jumped into a c in my now Coors light liveried Nissan.
Started last no qual finished 8 plus 40 back to 99. I like this race. Tcs 0 gets me outta da hole decent.
Starting last wasn’t that bad. I kinda let the field go lap one though too much.
I may qual this one up. The Nissan drives different slightly entering the second slow corner. I was using bb 2 towards rear, it’s a little sketchy into the second slow corner off the straight otherwise good.
Last lap I was able to break the draft onto the straight so that was nice.
I let the guy behind pass on the start straight and pressured and sure enough he ran himself wide gifting me the 8 spot pretty much...
Good fun, I’ll do more of these when I get time.

I went back and checked out the video. You are absolutely right. I got into the back of you twice. I promise I was not trying to punt you.
The first one, I guess I just got caught napping in the brake zone. No excuse.

The second one, I'm not sure. Makes no sense to rear-end someone in an acceleration zone. My best guess is that since the Mazda gets through that chicane so much better than the Nissan, there was just a big difference in corner exit speed. Sorry. I wasn't as careful as I should have been.

Really interesting to watch this,im new to the online races so still trying to understand penaltys and track limits. Please dont take any offence at all but regarding the track limits, why do you not get a penalty with all 4 wheels over the white line when you come on to the main straight after Tertre Rouge?
Also when you go wide over the rumble strips on the lefthander at Corvette Curves you seem to get a penalty one time but not another?Like i said, not intending to be offensive just trying to learn a little.
In the previous races with the Toyota 86 at La sarthe last week i was getting penaltys when i didnt expect them and vice versa. For example i nudged a guy over the lines at Tertre Rouge and picked up 5 secs.Fair enough but in a another race i got nudged over the lines in the same place and still picked up 5secs,guy who hit got nothing!
cheers

It sure would simplify things if PD used the very simple rule of no more than 2 tires outside of white line for track limits on every track with white lines. I think PD could even leave it up to common sense as to what should be legal and what is not legal and most would figure it out very quick but with seemingly different track limits on every track/race combo it is virtually impossible to understand how their logic works.
