I think they really did it too if I remember correctly. You could do it, you just need a good run off lol.

Oh and I just did a barrel roll in a Fiat, you definitely weren’t lying about that haha. :D

As for DT Gardens I tried the 4c, TT, Viper and the Lambo, TT is my best so far but the 4c is better if I could drive it lol. Someday.

This is where I’m at so far, there more time in all 3 For sure but not a bad start. :)

I've done the Gardens only in the lap experience part of the game, so I am not familiar - but I took the Alfa out and on my first lap, did a 1:45, and then on my next lap was going a fair bit faster - and I hit some sand and rolled the Alfa. It ended up completely upside down - then the game reset the car ... darn I was going to save it but mucked the save up ... incidentally if I had of had the virtual headset on, doing such a crash would really make me think I'd had a real accident ... they need to punish those crash drivers by forcing them to drive with a virtual headset on - they'd stop crashing I reckon its quite brutal on your brain when you crash with the virtual headset on ...

So need some suggestions for Race C with the Toyota 86 as got a 1:09.3 currently but not getting the balance right so any tips on
car settings (CSA, TC, Brake Balance) that anyone's using would be appreciated.

I ran everything off, you can get on the gas very early coming out of corners in that car because it’s fairly easy to catch if it slips with a touch of lift and a bit of countersteer, but it really helps to get the speed up coming out of the corners, if only the damm car would shift properly. :)

Ahaha, got that same time on Race B on my second lap with the GT-R.

The 4C is starting to appear more in Gr.4 races, as in fuji it was also used for some top times. when I tried it 6 months ago, it couldn't keep up for its life. but the car seems better now. some balance work perhaps?

Tried the Cayman. First hit out:
IMG_6344.JPG

The lead 4C had a comfortable gap, but must have spun on oil or something. I'm alone til the finish.

Actually bought a Slophy(unbelievable right?) and came Second from Second.
Same lead 4C. It checked out by Lap 3. On the final lap, I see this white speck get bigger and.bigger. Same oil patch hasn't been cleaned up. Side by side at last corner. We both go wide and the 4C wins by one second.

Topped the night off with buying a TT. Started 4th and finished Second.
Lead 4C, another TT and GT-R started in front of me. Somehow, the TT went off. By lap 4, the GT-R was slow in the first chicane.
Start of lap 5, it broke too deep into T1. Car goes into the outside Armco and it quit the race(I guess to save its Rating?).
4C finishes 6.7 ahead.

i see my line needs tweaking, i've been avoiding the kerbs in sector 1 but looking at other peoples line just drive right over them is the way.

Still, had some good fun last night, Found the scirocco is my most comfortable/consistent car, the TT very similar times but feel i can attack the 1st sector better in the scirocco. Need to try the 4C but its MR drivetrain and i have found them very difficult for my driving style, very loose in corners, i think this is why i like the scirocco as its very stable during corners and gives me confidence i can really attack it.

Quite pleased to rack up my 2nd victory though :D

Congrats on the win! Agreed, Scirocco is good on the turns. TT is a bit more sloppy. Unfortunately after a couple of races done well in Scirocco no matter how fast I was the bloody Meganes caught me on the straight. I gave in and tried a Megane immediately knocking 1 second of my qualifying time. Haven’t raced it yet.

i'm still having to play on the tv in the lounge (projector out of action) and so using the controller it's like learning all over again. I use my 2nd PSN account which i'm not too fussed about dr/sr but great for trying out races which i'm not confident in. So i hit race b last night always in the TT which i've found i'm more comfortable with - did a few races with no qualy and got myself in the top 5 - with my rating of B/C it's just a matter of time before the people in front start fighting and moses parts the waves.
Seem to be able to consistently hit around 1:40 in race and the DT Gardens is really growing on me. At last, i'm looking forward to racing again - won't be going near race A or C though with the controller - tried a qualy in the Fiat and flipped it over on turn 1!

Interesting, on the win it was a megane behind me, i was much quicker in sector 1 but last 2 it was catching me up (especially last sector), it just could never get close enough to have a go in turn 1 but i think thats cos i seem to get a really good exit off the final corners

Might have to give it a go and see

DT Gardens. I can’t seem to break 1:40 or hit 1:40 consistently. I tried the 4c but I’m slower than with ths Corvette. I tried the TT Cup but didn’t beat my Corvette time. My main struggle is the chicane where everyone cuts the corners, getting the bumps in the middle of the cars. I only hit 29-30s through Sector 1.

Try the scirocco to help nail the line you want? Found it great fun for the 1st sector cos fo turn in, someone also said the megane might be a good mix of the turn in on the scirocco but better speed down straight.

i only get 1.39.3xx and in 1st sector i get 29.3xx so i wouldnt say hitting 29s is bad, the key is hitting is consistently as i seem to be at my best in that sector and see people behind me losing most of their time there as they run wide or go deep in first part of chicane looking for time.

To me the Scirocco i can his 1.39/low 1.40s consistently, going to try the megane tonight to see if that improves it.

I tried a few cars, found the corvette ok but a little heavy around the tighter corners. The WRX I found a little slow through the quick flowing turns, I’ve seen a few people do well in the lancier too but not tried it myself and the Mazda is awful for it, i was getting 1.44s at best in that.

Edit: I gots me a Dub in the smoked out TT, and a clean one at that.

I have this mental image of Pigems after crossing the line and pulling in to the pits at the end of the race, opening the door and a cloud of smoke pouring out. He gets out and says "Yeh mon..."

Only race for the evening, Race B. I went out with the M4 after de-Brockyfying it. So much more controlled than the WRX. Was nice to be able to get the car settled at the first turn of the 4 consecutive right handers and just put the foot to the floor and take them as one big long turn. Shame I just couldn't quite manage that during the race . I beat my WRX qualifying time on the second qualifying lap. I started P9/12 as the highest placed DR/C... mainly because I was the *only* DR/C :p. Three DR/Ds behind me and DR/A and B in front.

Race starts and I was hanging with the guys in front for 2 laps before I started to fall behind. I was being way too cautious and the guy behind me hit me trying to pass. It was a pretty aggressive try that almost seemed like he completely ignored the fact that there was a car there. I got an orange SR for that :banghead:. I re-passed him cleanly and just focused on staying on track. Up ahead were victims, which surprised me, so I finished P6, 10s behind the car in P5.

I didn't drive well, but well enough to stay on the track. SR still 99, DR went up about 350. Day 12, the DR/C odyssey continues :dopey:.

I am enjoying the Mitsubishi - I am not a fast driver, although I've got my time down to 1.38.9.
The line through the chicane, the corners before the bridge and the last hairpin are crucial.

Yeah this, the Lancer is the easiest car to get up to speed on at this track as it rides bumps well. And yeah, those three corners drive your entire lap time.

I'm going to kiss my DR goodbye this week. I'm at 35k right now, yet last time I raced the daily B without qualifying in GR.4 I dropped to 15K. That was on one of my best tracks. DT gardens is meh so perhaps I'll make it to DR.C this week, trifecta of bad, GR.4 + bad track + daily B. My DR simply adjusts to what track I'm racing each week, it has no consistency yet does tell me how I rank on each track.

I'll be at DT: Gardens, far from my favorite, yet the other too are much worse.

Gardens...I am horrible in gr4 on this one.
I’ve tried the gr4 I like. I’m terrible. I tried the 4c and it’s ok. I like the 86 but not enough power.
I thought late last night maybe I ought to enter in and kinda learn by throwing myself into the fire...
Didn’t go well.
Race one crashed out t1 lap 4 trying to overtake DFL from the seventh spot should have held.
Overtaking is tough here. I’ve never liked this track. I’ve always struggled. Doesn’t suit me.
Race 2 got pissed. Had some rubs. Dr down to 89.
I’m just accepting I hate and suck at this combo.
Tsukuba I did okay on one after getting spun out lap one. Got back to fourth from last.
If I race this week it’ll be Tsukuba.
For me Gardens doesn’t do much with the gr4. Very frustrating night. Gonna take time on other things this week...

Likewise the Megane did not pass because I was faster in the turns with Scirocco. I figured it was because the Scirocco was faster in those sectors but not on the finish straight however the very first hot lap I tried on the Megane, late at night, only did two laps, tired and only out of interest because both races I could not shake the Meganes behind me, I set a new best time in every sector. In fact, the final 2 turns out of the FWD cars it was the TT that braking and turn in was an issue. Scirocco is really tight there but Megane didn't feel that far off. OK, I'm still slow, it's well covered around here now that I've lost time with the wheel over controller but on Lancer I was on 1.42's, on TT, Sciorcco I was in 1.41's and on only 2 laps with the Megane I was already on 1.40.2 so I know that a 1.38 to 1.39 is easily within reach with a few laps.

@VolkswagenX I'm looking forward to getting home to see if you caught me yet.

Good fun trying to beat the 'brake cheat' users in the Fiat 500 - although it makes them faster round the corners, it does seem to slow them a bit on the straights! You get quite a bit of yo-yoing, and even if you do manage to pass them on the straight, they just drive past you (or through you in most cases!) at the next corner.

P1 on the EMEA server seems ridiculously fast - don't know what his secret is, as there's no video!

For everyone talking about the Race B Gr.4 cars, give the Huracan a go as I've barely seen it mentioned here. I've managed a 1:38.581 qualifying time and I know faster is possible. It has better acceleration and top end top than the 4C and being 4WD it gets good traction out of the slow corners. It's a little heavy through the windy esses after the hairpin and that's where I struggle most but it's a really stable drive.

My only issue has been with the matchmaking. While my quali time was in the 1:39's I'd barely make it into the top 10. I did have a hilarious destruction derby race where I went from 11th to 4th because of the carnage around me despite everyone being SR:S. I managed a clean race bonus somehow.

My improved time did give me a P4 start which is where I finished. Moved up a position but then lost a position on the last corner of the last lap as I overthought my defensive line and a TT got the cut back on me. My hat went off to him though as he'd been really patient behind me, not forcing the move so was semi pleased to see someone's patience pay off, even if it was at my own expense and fault.

Race A was actually really fun today. However, in one race there was an Italian with a one-bar-red-connection. His car was jumping all over the track. Say bye bye to your clean races streak. Pitty, because I was at 12/15. However, I did have really good fights with a German and a Belgian.

But I think there should be a minimum on connection strenght. Jumping cars is just ridiculus.

Probably the same guy I was up against - very difficult to get past him, I never knew which side to try and pass him!

This is what prompted me to set up a 2nd account - once we started on the 'daily weekly' races it was so annoying when i saw track/car combo's that i just couldn't get myself up for - so i started from scratch on another account and then use that just to race when i know i've nothing to lose. The only thing is you start with hardly any cars so you need to grind a few AI races to earn some £££. I then just use my main account when i see races i enjoy and can compete in.

I’d say you are completely correct Sir, I’ll have to try a race sober some day to find out. :D

Edit: I gots me a Dub in the smoked out TT, and a clean one at that. Had the pole and ran it lights to flag by 5.5s at the end. The race also featured @Sven Jurgens as well, he started 16th and I believe ended up in 12th so I’m assuming he ran into a bit of trouble with someone/s, I expected him to be on my arse by lap 3 after seeing the field fall back so quickly. Definitely a good way to start the week! :)

I was in that race, and I saw @Sven Jurgens there, as well as in a few other races last night.
I started 3rd in a Blue/Yellow LA Rams liveried Mitsubishi. Dr. B Sr. S right now.

Pigems, you just got smaller and smaller in front of me, and absolutely nothing I could do about it.

Second lap I got nudged off track on the super tight left hander; in the following right left right section I didn't give enough room to the "nudger" on my outside exiting the turn...we bumped and I got 4 seconds. Served the penalty on the ensuing front stretch (not recommended, lost a A LOT more than 4 seconds there), struggled back and finished 5th or 6th. Only penalty I had for the night. (About 6 races).

Sven, I watched the replay of that race (or it might have been the one right after), and saw you split two cars going into the first left hander (1st chicane), pass both perfectly clean before the quick right hander, only to have one of them out of control punt you off a second later. One of those nights....

Cool to race with you guys.

I’ve done a low 1.39 in the Mazda at DT gardens. I found it a good car for the track. Can throw it around and can be consistent through the chicane.

Race B has been fun today, I was getting matched with some really quick and clean players at every race. I did 5 consecutive clean races before I had to call it quits, I think that's a new record for me lol.

I agree with the Scirocco. Set my time of 39.120. Every other car I used in qualy, only got me to a 39.5xx.

I was trying to improve my time on Race A. 1 lap I flew through very out of control but somehow clean for a 108.499. My average is almost a half second slower. I think I screwed myself until I can get the average down. :irked:
