After that initial bombshell, the rest of my races were fun. Used all four FF cars, but SCirocco is choice. Strong brakes, turning and 3rd gear punch. As expected, my starts were mostly from mid pack. Good matches with times, as the fields were within 1.5 seconds qualifying times. Had good scraps and close finishes as well.

Someone tried to squeeze me off the single car width of track I had available, and got spun off because I didn't yield. I copped a penalty, but it made for a good laugh.

Well if you're fully alongside before turn in you should be entitled to room on the inside

That's my thought also. But a lot of people equate being surprised and not reacting to a passing move with the move being dirty. Do people not use radar?

I am pretty sure a good portion of people out there do not use the radar. When i used chase cam i thought it was guys using other views not knowing the size of their car but having recently switched to hood cam i realized it is actually quite easy to race door to door around a whole lap with the radar and a desire to keep clean.

@ShiftingGears & @Hasnain282 Agreed that fully alongside before you turn in entitles you to try the move. I've taken quite a few on the inside on the last turns of Dragon Trail this week. Unfortunately the norm is that the guy is only fully alongside because he's overshot a corner and leaves the obligation of avoiding contact on the person on the outside to slam on the brakes and give him the space to slide out. So, yes, if you are on the inside AND can hold a clean inside line allowing the car on the outside room to take the corner then cool...but not barging up the inside, sliding into the outside lane and leaving the guy on the outside with no choice to come to a virtual stop (T4 Dragon Trails all week has been this way).

The corner that you are talking about is a tough one though. Not as slow as t4 or the last 2 double lefts. It is not a turn I'd expect to go the long way round, as in, I'd be entering with speed, setting myself up to be on the far right and cut in over the left kerb to run back out on the right exit. If a car appeared on my inside as I was turning in I wouldn't be too quick to give up my space on the road. It happened to me this week, I gave him the space on the inside to take the corner but kept my speed and kept level with him knowing I had the inside on the entry next two turns (right sweep after it and the subsequent slower right that comes next). This time the guy on the outside tried to cut in on the kerb (the natural line) ignoring the fact that I was still in there. I was left having to bully my way back onto the track. So, yes, take there...but be prepared to have to give space and fight to keep the position in the following turns.

@Dairyworker I never understand how guys play a game that is all about realism and simulation and then use a view of their car that does a better job of simulating an outerbody experience and looks like a 1990 arcade racer. I use bumper cam and radar but to be fair if you have your wits about you and pay attention to what's going on, you will nearly always know where the other cars are on the track and just as importantly, where yours is, without having to look at radars. In fact, the real trick is not just knowing where they are but where they are about to go. Granted, I'm not at the level of some guys here but I think half of my points are gained not by being faster but by predicting when the guys in front are going to mess up and taking advantage of it.

Did one more Race B in the 86, this time dropping the Prodrive liveried one (by @MrWaflz55) to the KanColle car, the Amatsukaze 86 by yuyuko_0418 to be exact (I have 3 86 Gr.4s, one purchased, which is the car that I'm using for this race, and 2 from DWG, to which the Prodrive car was one of them, the other being a Green Brave car from K-DST_SiR). Anyway, onto the actual race and I sat on pole position, with Bspec-_-Bob's Malaysian Cousin sitting behind with his apparently beloved GGO 4C. Into T1, no issues, but then that 4C initially came into an argument with Yuichi-san, but then he binned it, allowing Bobby to try and catch up to me, with his 1:38.007 race time being a red flag for me to prepare for defenses. Come into the final lap and the 4C decided to do a dumb pass, much like me in the SLS against the GT-R, and it didn't work just like me VS the GT-R. SR Down arrow and CRB ruined, but the fight ignites at this point, then come the final straight where I just got him by .022 seconds, securing my 69th Sport Mode win!

I agree that you should be entitled to an attack when your nose is ahead at the apex or perhaps a quarter through the turn. If both sides are two-wide across the width, they should both give some space for the inside/outside exiting.

I've been a victim of such penalties several times, and I could relate to that for a bit of amusement. That's what makes your heart jump for a second!

Erm, hello? There is nothing realistic about using a DS4 either, but if that's all you have....

I used to race RC cars, so nothing weird about chase mode and using the analogue sticks to drive :p. The radar does come in handy... just wish it has a greater range to catch the dive bombers .

@Invisigoth Erm, hiya!:D Yep, just moved from DS4 to wheel so absolutely if that's all you have. Then again, even with a DS4 I used a camara angle that made half an attempt to get a sense of realism. I suppose it could be the difference between player history, as in, someone used to arcade would automatically select 3rd person where as I've only ever played more sim like games. I will say, in bumper cam the mirror is huge and you don't get the blind spots that cockpit gives. My only complaint is that cars .5 secs behind you look miles away so you've got to get used to judging the distance.

Don't race RC but do mess about with them. More buggy driving than racing.

Last night was not too bad on DT. The merge is actually helping me gain more places. There are more people taking each other out now clearing the path for me to get to the top 5  When a South American is behind a North American it doesn't take long until I pass them both at the edge of the road. They are harder to pass though as if I don't immediately put distance I can expect a bump pass or getting pushed out next corner. Oh how I've missed the bumper against your rear back panel and push push push :banghead: Anyway let one through, follow him and he'll take out a couple of cars for you.

A positive is that I haven't been wrongly accused of dirty driving anymore. Nobody cares about the Canadian making up a suspicious amount of places when there are laggy Brazilians to complain about. Oh and the post race chat has ignited after most races, no more Kumbaya. I recognize those Spanish swear words, lots of Puta etc.

I took a break of the battle ground arena to try out another one.

A bit of random gameplay. Look PD, more than one plane in the sky!!! It's an actual game! (Although no multiplayer in VR that I see and only 3 missions)

Haven’t got time to race this weekend, but I’ve done a 1:38.6 at DT Gardens in the Atenza.
I’ll take that.

.400 faster than my best before the update.

Is the update generally making people faster?

I just thought of something. Next week, Mount Panorama is race C. Do you realize what this means? We're going to have to try to use that damn pit entrance! :banghead::banghead::banghead:

I've squandered a couple of races because of messing that one up. :O

You can always do a no stop, it seems fuel won't be a problem again. It says Tire: Racing soft, does that mean it's locked to softs or that that's the best you can choose? It also says Mandatory Tires at Pit Stop: Racing: Hard. I'm confused. Mandatory start on soft, finish on hard tires? Odd or just weirdly displayed on KP.

Hmm thinking this through, half no stops on hards, half one stops on softs on a tight track like Mount Panorama, recipe for disaster... I'll probably be on the Nordschleife most of the week, that will be plenty mayhem in the backfield.

I wonder if South Americans and dirty drivers in general see the car ahead as a red target, just like in the jetfighter video :)
Now I just need to jerry-rig a missile alert system on my ride.

Those big 3D glowing arrows would actually work quite well in GTS next to the radar. The closer a car the bigger the arrow, red when it's on a collision course.

Here's that classic Brazillian move that I had the pleasure of not seeing until the update.

Position to the inside, simply wait until the other car starts braking and use him as a turn in aid. And the penalty system gives me SR Down for that for not going off road while he passes. So far every North American I have raced on DT brakes on time for that corner and attempts a better corner exit.

And this will be more common again with the extra lag, especially now you sometimes get connected to the SA server.

And this is how I always get accused

11th punts of 10th, Blame the Canadian. Problem was, there were no Brazilians in that race to blame so blame the other foreigners :)

Anyway, I finally got a podium, 3rd place finish from 13th with fastest lap. My DR has rebounded since the merge. I was down to 8.3K, now back up to 14.2k.

I recently got to DR A a couple of weeks ago. Sitting around 37-39k this week. As my brother from another mother (@Invisigoth) would suggest, "I got gud", but "my trip in DR A is gonna be short lived" because of the Nordschleife, and possibly Mount Panorama next week. No way in 🤬 I'm not racing hard next week :gtpflag:.

Where do you find the the numbers for your DR and SR rating? I can see the bar on my profile but no quantifiable numbers

It's always displayed like that, you can use any of the 3 compounds

In regards to the veiw, i am nearly an old man who has been playing driving/racing games since the mid 80s. I could never get used to any other view, i finally got a wheel for my birthday and instantly it felt strange. I now run cockpit when alone and hood(roof) cam online. Bumper cam is just to low for me i can't see anything.

I did a few race A last night before i was to frustrated to meep going. 3 out of 4 races i ended pushed around and dropping to the back. Nice guys finnish last indeed. I need to learn how to be more "agressive" while still being clean and fair....

The scirroco feels really good and chuckable on this track, and it's predictable too which helps through the chicane. It also has great braking and cornering speed as you said which makes it formidable in a battle.
I used it exclusively for most of the week on race B, and got a lot of good results, but now that the regions were rejoined it's too competitive and it just can't hang with the faster guys in the metas :(
I was able to get my time in the 'rocco down to 1'37.5, but it loses out big to the Alfa in the middle sector. I've done a couple of quick qualifying sessions in the 4c and I've already gained 4 tenths! Hoping to get down to the 36's by the end of the week. It's definitely a handful compared the VW though...

I just ordered a T300RS GT, should be here by Feb 1st. Daily races are about to get a little more fun. :)

Niiice choice my friend! Congrats
You're going to love it, I assure you. Just make sure you update the firmware though because it's a bit unrefined out of the box.

Is there a reason to not improve DR? I've seen 2 players this week that ran the race in the top spots and than fall back on the final lap. The first time I thought it was somebody that had to pause the game, but I've seen the same guy do it 4 times..

Thanks, I’m pretty excited for it to arrive. I’ve been using a DFGT since they first came out so this should be a pleasant upgrade, thanks for the tip about updating it too, how do I got about doing that? BestBuy has a deal on where the GT edition was actually $100 less than the regular T300RS, so basically you get upgraded pedals for less money? I just need to find a shifter now. :)

I think that on the Bathurst track, it will definitely be worth stopping to get fresh tires.

Yeah that section up in the mountains will be brutal on worn tires.
