Race B atm is a FF layout fest, from what I raced. Pity us that like MR/FR cars are always at a disadvantage at Gr.4
Hm, that's weird. I imagine FF would be pretty sketchy in the esses. Also, the 4C is MR, right? That's often a great car in Gr.4. Still, 4WD cars and especially the Huracán will probably be very good as nearly always.

Gr.2 @ Autopolis I think most of us could see coming from a mile away. Cool combo. The new Supra was likely an expected choice too. As for next week, Tsukuba N100 is kinda meh unless it's a car we haven't seen before in dailies (Porsche 356?). Tokyo East Gr.4 we've had recently if I'm not mistaken, but not in endurance form. Interlagos Gr.3 seems a bit overused, though it'll be interesting to see which cars are the quickest this time around since the VW GTI VGT got nerfed. I expect the R8 and Atenza to dominate.

Is it just me or does it seem like qualifying to race tire slide physics has gotten worse? The Supra is slippery but not once in my 25 or so laps qualifying did I go completely sideways or spin out. Go to race and twice in 3 laps I'm totally helpless out of control. It doesn't make sense to me, I'm not that bad a driver. TCS makes it worse.
It (the physics) should be exactly the same quali vs race for Race A,
For sure it was the same last week for the Fiat 500, where I was even able to drive better that quali times in the race (as the leader, so no slipstream)
I have the same problems with the Supra, but I guess it's just the distraction of other cars that makes you sometimes react later and thus miss correcting in time.

I think this Race A is supposed to be kind of a drift challenge;)
Not really good advertising for the supra, looking super-unstable.
Let's see if it can be controlled better after lots of practice.

I had the same trouble in the Fiat, just easier to control being so slow. The TCS seemed to help too. Maybe I am that bad a driver.

I know the daily race is over but I tried the Yank Tank (Ford GT) as @Invisigoth named it at Bathurst and I wish I hadn't. It guzzles up fuel like no tomorrow. I had to pit on L4 with 0.6 fuel remaining and even after filling her up to full, it wasn't quite enough with 4 laps remaining. So I had to use a combination of FM2 on non-straights and FM3 on the straights for 1.5 - 2 laps. I also switched to Hards for the remaining 5 laps because Mediums weren't cutting it down the mountain. Especially around The Dipper and Forrest's Elbow where my tyres were smoking hot. Fortunately I managed to stay on the track throughout and with a starting grid of P4, I finished P7. It was an interesting challenge but not one I'd like to take up again.

As you can tell from my posts,i am pretty crap on the track.I tend to race around towards the back of the pack,i dont ruin peoples races and i wont fight against somebody overtaking me if they are clearly faster than me,thats my take on it.Generally most of my races,if you can call them that, have been fun and enjoyable with very little grief, except for last night.:banghead:
Fiat 500 races, did about 5 on the trot got 3 consecutive clean races, finished midpack,no probs.Last race this German player decided to turn it into a punt-fest,i thought the first one was accidental but he went on to punt 4 other players before he gave me a shove.these were deliberate because i saw people in front of him move over to let him pass.Anyway,he comes up behind me,he got a better run of the last corner onto the start/finish straight,i see him close on me so i move over towards the pit wall to give him room,i also dont want an episode going into the first corner.Bang.He rams me,which spins me,no need for it at all,and off he goes on his merry way to punt the next person.Later on around the track hes obviously had an off and hes right in front of me,sorry to say but i punted his ass like a goal kick into the middle of next week! The 3 second penalty i got was so worth it.Sorry but i know it makes me no better than him but it looked like he was only there to spoil the party, red mist and all that its not something i do.Dont hate on me.....................👍

Germans are the Brazilians of Europe.

What are you doing this Wednesday from noon to 2:30? Come check out the 86 Racing Series and experience some genuinely clean fun and close racing.
This Wednesday I am consulting to a company maybe it will take 13 hours, a long day. But aren't you in the USA? I am not sure if I can compete there with an Australian account?? It would have to be the next week I suspect, but it may not be possible. Thank you very much, I'd love to next week, if its possible.

Yeh, the Mustang is also thirsty. The other two Yank Tanks (Corvette and Viper) are more frugal on fuel. I did alright with the Corvette. I didn't have my Bathurst livery for the Viper yet. Maybe the Gr4 will be done when Bathurst shows up again.

I think he's talking about lobbies rather than the daily races. As far as i know there is no segregation of nationality on lobbies.

Unless I'm mistaken it seems that the pre race grid shows your connection to the Oceania server, the server we only use for FIA races. As soon as we go to the race we then see the connection to the Japan server instead.
I envy the South Americans who at least sometimes used to get a win at the expense of the North by hosting on their end.
Even if we get an entirely Oceania grid I suspect the Asian servers would still get priority at joining us all together.

We used to get both servers, somewhat alternating. Until this last week's change in software. From then on, I only ever saw at best 3 yellow bars, and often worse. In the race though - the pre race showed Australians with 5 green bars, and lower for other places. But as you say, at the race the connection was poor.

I started a new account this week, I race for 6 days with one day where I raced a fair bit.
Too_Blitz account, started one week ago, at "E" and at zero points for the first 5 races, then you get 2,000:

My Blitztoo account (some of):

1 5825 C 75 A
2 9058 C 84 S
3 17167 B 83 S
4 24743 B 94 S
5 27061 B 99 S

7 31549 A 76 A

I think its clear that I am now mostly a 99 SR. I don't want to play rough.

But in two so called "races", I went from 99 to 76. And the day before it dipped as well.

In the bad race, I lost a huge amount of SR at the end of a race, yet, I never hit a car or left the bitumen (black top). But I'm Australian, so after the recent change, the connection is always poor, so I must have hit other cars ... or ran off the track ...

?And example of the new environment, was where there was one Japanese car, and the rest were Australian. Maybe Friday night. 12 all up ... and when the race was about to start, the single Japanese guy had 5 green, and the Aussies all previously with 5 green, they'd lost all those good connections, the green bars had all gone, and one Aussie guy had a red bar only, the rest of us had three yellows although some were orange.

its no fun to be on pole, and then realise at the first corner your car is a random object which lacks grip, steering precision and has random brakes.

i much prefer to race the Japanese and those people from other countries. GTS was working fine until this latest change in PD's software. And the more from Japan, the worse it gets.

At least return PD to swapping the servers around. Or give Oceana and also South America the same architecture that the pro GTS ring series has. Otherwise there's no point in driving well, and that means, there's no point in driving on line inside the GTS "hell".

Against my better judgement I did Sukiyaki tonight with the 626. I started P8/16 on an all DR/D grid, so obviously my qualifying time was pretty crap. Usually on an all DR/D grid I'm somewhere in the top 5. As usual Suzuka seems slicker'n'snot. The Mazda seemed more connected to the road than the M4, so I went with that.

I was praying that auto drive didn't dump me mid chicane. Lucky me I had the wheels pointed strait for the start :scared:. Race gets going and T1 had casualties. By the hair pin I was in P4 and hangin in there. I survive lap 1, then on the run up to T15 I get rear ended. I was driving in a strait line at full throttle, yet still got an orange SR and a 2s penalty. He had already been tapping my rear bumper before the hair pin. He crashes past and then I see him doing the same ahead of me :dunce:. I dropped to P6. Last lap I was up to P5, but still had some residual penalty. I screwed up the entrance to the exit of the chicane, and instead of passing the guy who was in the gravel, I punted him across the chicane and into the gravel on the other side :banghead:. I pulled over and slowed to let him re-gain, and lost 2 positions, finishing P7.

SR dropped 2 to 97, DR went up by 200. Another day above DR 1 :odd:.

Just finished Suzuka in my F1 2018 career so race b it is. What are top times around here normally? Going with the SLS, it handles alright but it has plenty of power (406 iirc) for the straights.

The 4c was Meta last time at Suzuka I believe, it holds speed in the corners the best, thought it may have been Gr3, I can’t remember now.

I know we are on to other tracks, but let me share a Bathurst experience this weekend.
I have been driving this track extensively during the week in the McLaren and got my qualifying time down to 2:03.834 and on Saturday it yielded me a 7th place on the grid. Just after start I benefit from a car going off track so I'm 6th on the first lap until I get pushed off the track after the long straight so now I sit in 13th place.🤬
This is when it starts to get interesting.
I keep my head down and decide just to run my race and a great battle with Sniperdawg72 ensue for two laps. I had decided to pit end of lap 4 as the tires fell off in the 5th lap in previous races.
As I come out on my out lap I'm sitting at 13th. I run a nice a clean outlap and when I come around to start my 6th lap I'm sitting in 9th !! :gtpflag:
Did I just do my most epic undercut ever ? From 13th to 9th in an undercut
I have a few cars infront of me that just came out from the pits so now I'm smelling blood in the water. I have good pace and with some luck and an epic pass up the mountain on Insanethane in a Lexus on lap 8 I end up as 6th ... a net gain on one spot from where I started. Way better than I thought when I got pushed on the first lap.
It's races like this that makes me love this game. :gtpflag:
The full race is memorialized in this video.:D

I wonder where the server is. The ping time from Melbourne to Tokyo is on average 126ms, half of that from Toronto to Brazil. However I guess the server is somewhere in the USA. Global internet routing is weird though. I get lower ping times to Buenos Aires (164) and Santiago (142) than to Brasilia (230). From here to Melbourne is 274ms, I don't think we can ever play together... Well perhaps in the Samba bus :)

Could not be further from the truth...

If you cannot control a Fiat 500, you must be pretty bad. If you compare it to the Supra, well... you need help, but probably it is too late ;):);)

My point was only about the quali vs race situation. I am very sure that grip is the same based on the Fiat 500 experience.
The only differences are thus distraction and slipstream

The 4c was Meta last time at Suzuka I believe, it holds speed in the corners the best, thought it may have been Gr3, I can’t remember now.
Last time we did Gr.3 at Suzuka people did Q in the Audi and raced in the Porsche, from what I saw on YT. The 4C isn’t used a lot in Gr.3, which is a shame since it’s a very good looking car.

Ok so it must have been Gr4 then, thanks. :)

I've was getting some serious positions gained in the McLaren just with extreme short shifting and running mid 2.05's. I think I was close to 50% at the end of lap 4 and 35% on lap 5. One race I got punted on the first lap and went from 2nd to last. Sat and fuel saved behind second last and came out the pits in 8th and finished 6th lol.

I've only done one "daily" in the last couple weeks... I've been hanging in the lobbies and the racing is much more enjoyable. I always assumed it was a wreckfest in the lobbies but they are 100 times cleaner than the dailies, I'm hooked.

I might try that out, or the audi. The SLS feels like it’s on a knife edge in turn 1 and spoon.

Gr.4 at Suzuka is pretty balanced tbh, it is just tyre wear that makes gr.4 unbalanced (That's why everyone was racing the Alfa in the Suzuka FIA). Audi TT is very strong and easy to drive being FF. Porsche Cayman is pretty good, Toyota 86 is solid, and the Alfa is a monster in the 1st couple of sectors but weak on the straights.

For a more left field option try the BMW, Hyundai or the normal Megane. I would say just try your favourite car and see how you get on :)

I had a couple of good,(for me lol),races at Suzuka,2 top ten finishes in the VW scirroco.Happy days.
Undercut a guy at the hairpin,he then pushed past me further on round,i then went past him at the chicane onto the start and finish and so it went on like that.He beat me fair and square in the end but i got a`thanks for the clean race`message from him, which i returned,Nice guy.

It's been a while since I looked at lobbies but when I did, I usually saw a list of rooms with 1 - 2 people max in them. When I happened to find a room which was semi-full, it was just a bunch of people clowning around and drifting (not my thing) so I quickly left. Is there something I'm missing? Maybe I should look into them again.

Make sure you select “show all regions” and select “show full rooms” as well. You should be getting 2 pages of results most of the time. Just wait for a spot to open up in a full room, or join a room with a handful of players. Once other people see a lobby filling up, more and more join.

That Supra on hard tires, at Fuji is quite a handful without TCS. Respect to those who can handle it at TCS 0.

In Snail racing we use SM tires on the Supra, but really, SS probably suite it best because it has so much torque. But PD seems to love making throttle control the highest priority for some reason even though you can’t “feel” when the tires are about to let go in this game.

Lol whut? I always found it to be hit or miss with the Mediterraneans (except the Greeks. Good people) and them Russians always looking to kick off WW3. I bet they've got a room of full-time rammers hidden somewhere in the Kremlin.

Yeah for me, I always start to freak out when I have a spanish or a russian in front or behind me. I think in my 20 races so far, I have seen one russian driving clean, and 2 spanish. My SR is locked at 72 because of french and spanish on the Nurburgring.

Suzuka is the only track i like so I guess I will do only a couple of Gr4 races this week...I hope I don't hit another bump https://www.kudosprime.com/gts/stats.php?profile=8609539#dr

And I think that's pretty much cemented the "everywhere has people who drive dirty and the ones you notice and remember are the ones you want to notice and remember" confirmation bias.

So let's drop the incredibly casual stereotyping and slurs and move on.

Edit: I don't believe that was open to interpretation...
