And the result. The Trophy's aren't tough. They can be beat.

The racing is really good up the front.

Oh wow, those are some quality roasts. Thanks @daan, I appreciate your kind words. Blocking in a race is fine because it doesn't ruin your starting position. I would rather lose 2 spots to a penalty than 10 to people blocking me in qualifying.

Oh oh oh and here's the kicker - the guy I brake checked said sorry, so... Call me a hypocrite all you like, I don't care but don't bash me because of it. Reading this is sickening and I cannot understand why you'd all be so mean. I am horrified @daan, you should know better.
Any time. I'm horrified too, but at your driving standards. Blocking is bad enough, but brake checking is a dick move.

Those Gr2 cars are fun around Interlagos :)

Takes a couple of laps to get up to speed, but I am in 3rd and only 4 secs behind, I can make that up. Ok, closing in, only 3 seconds. OVERSTEER!
Crap, I am off the track, lose 7 spots and about 7 seconds. OK, we can still catch up, just concentrate.
Keep it smooth for a few laps, pit, come out in 8th, but only 11 seconds behind 1st.

Lets start picking them off! OVERSTEER!!
Caught it that time, but lost a couple of seconds. Repeat till end :)

Nice to have a Race C when I didn't really pay attention to the fuel mixture, just drove hard and pitted at roughly half way.
May I know any no-stop racer in your race? Thx

Everyone pitted in my race, but like I said it was the 1st race of the day. Not sure you can stretch the fuel, I pitted at half way and had 20% left with a bit of short shifting. Others had less, so I think it would be hard to no stop.

Used no CSA in Race C for qualifying today; ran a 1:25.195 good for 35th on the leaderboards. I'm not quite sure what my PB is on this particular combo, but I think I'm getting back to my old pace without using CSA :)
That would yield you p73 in EU, I'm 172nd with 25.5

Top 10 were within 1.24, till @ferrari312t wooshed everyone out of the way with 23.6:D

It's noon over here tho, so I'm guessing someone gonna go 22 tonight.

Looking at the top 10 leader board for the Maggiore race yesterday it seems that either people 'tanking their stats' has become a bit of an epidemic or some racers suddenly got very good. The board was littered with E, D and B drivers, only 2 A+ in the whole top 10

In the 2 races I had, most of us were on a 1:15 or 1:16 but the guy on pole was a 1:13 but was DR D...

Wow, some people really exploit taking over on the inside on Race C.
Started pole and going perfectly in p1 until L12,
when everyone turns into idiot mode.
First get shoved off at T8 by nsx that spins out soon after, lap later I get pushed aside from the inside on T6 by some gtr that brush-brakes into me, I get instant 2s and SR down altho I did absolutely nothing wrong.
Last lap, carnage ahead I lose a spot trying to avoid slamming into them because they don't ghost, same 2 that rammed me off + one that passes me literally do demolition derby , constantly ramming each other off the walls and into the litter. NO PENALTY.
I had to short shift in fp5, and drop my penalty, finished p4 after running out of fuel on last turn.

Now here comes the cracker: they all got BLUE S, reward for ramming. Really, what the..

meet @Alpha Cipher we both ****ed up, meet @leaves_2B damn this man just too fast hahahaha

I mean his time just too fast for entire grid lol

I dunno with Interlagos anymore I guess I'll take sleep now to cool my head, this happen on every lap I racing this evening
Ah anyway I hit that white car just miscalculated because I though he will got some ghosted but no :dunce:

Ran a 1'24.3 myself without it and in both the Lexus and the Honda but the Honda should be able to do a 1'24.0/1 even in my hands but it just wasn't happening and my best time was still the Lexus one somehow. Then my wheel starting shutting itself off because it's too hot I guess, not good. :ouch::irked::nervous:

I had problems with ghosting too, it's very unstable on that track.
Ending up in the middle of the pack is deadly tho.

First race for the night, match the Hatch. I did some pre-qualifying in the NSX, and kinda thought it was ok I guess. I'm still collating the data from screen shots of previous races, but the one race I had Gr4 data on was with the M4. Beat that time by 5s. Was still surprised to get P2 . The grid was all DR/C and a mix of cars. Only a few Meganes.

The race starts and I'm hangin like glue to P1 and a couple of times I thought there was an opportunity for a pass but not quite. On the second lap I went wide on the entry for T3 (the first left hander), caught my back right tyre on the grass in the braking zone, and spun out . I was gutted. Passed by 4 cars but kept going. On the next lap I made another unforced error on T4 and ended up on the grass 🤬. More cars go past and I'm mortified. Wish I could hide under a rock, but I press on to the finish and cross P8 with no penalties. I was annoyed with myself a) for making those mistakes, and b) because I *really* wanted to post a pic of the car with a podium finish sporting my racing number :p. Stupidly I went again because I felt i could do better. I'm an idiot :dunce:.

Second race and again I'm P2, with the correct door number. Great, another chance to show off the car with number! Did I mention I'm an idiot?

I was slammed off the track twice :banghead::banghead:. To add insult to injury I got an orange SR due to a car in front with lag. It jerked to one side before I got any where near it, I passed it by more than a car width, then a second later it suddenly appears sideways directly in front of me like Scotty had beamed the thing on my front bumper :odd:. On the last corner I got better drive out and passed the car in front and crossed a couple of car lengths ahead. Again P8 for me.

No SR drop from the first race but lost 4 SR from the second. Each race had me gain a couple of hundred DR. Meh... Still visiting DR/C.

As promised, here is the video of my battle with T-L 👍

I noticed that we can remove names above cars with F1 key on the keyboard. Shame that it doesn't work in online race...

I find it incredible that Turismo Lester appears to blow a corner with you having the best line then his car just pulls away, couple of times I think you even had slipstream and he’s still getting away from you. What a driver he is.

Today was filled with ups and downs.

The Brands Hatch Gr.4 race was alright. Was able to beat some Megane Trophy drivers with my McLaren 650S Gr.4.

The Interlagos Gr.2 race on the other hand? :banghead:

The MR-2 One Make race around Tsukuba went alright. Was able to get away from the carnage on the first turn due to me getting second place for the start of the race.

I can't seem to get the fuel strategy right on C, keep having to majorly short shift for few laps to survive. Any tips?

Edit: Had a blast in 3 races C, mostly clean, kept gaining sr and dr. Then race 4, p6 at start, surrounded by Spaniards. No need to guess what ensued..

People trying to win the 13 laps + pit race in first 3 laps, got T-boned in every corner in first 5 laps till I was last. Got penalty for every single one.... Total 5-6s.
Impossible to make overtakes literally everyone zigzags, especially on finish straight lol

Cruised to end and still finished 10th, stayed at sr 99 somehow, gained 200dr.

Lesson learned: don't bother racing if place 3-20 today, just cruise and collect sr.

Lobbies anyone?:D

I did a few daily races Sunday night at DT Gardens (Gr.3) and Maggiore (Gr.4). These were my first races outside of DR.A since I got two different DR resets last week from Tokyo and NurbGP chaos.

So basically my first time driving as a DR.C since my initial climb some months ago. Boy what a difference some experience makes. It was basically like taking candy from babies, but those babies really didn't want to give up their candy lightly.

It's definitely easy to be faster than most, but not easy to pass clean, especially when in the lower ranks where people have less consistent control over their cars and racing lines. 5 races, 2 wins, 2 other podiums, one 6th place at DTG after being punted twice into last place by the same guy who actually ended up finishing ahead of me. It seems that most of the drivers I raced with aren't very familiar with the rules of racecraft and giving the passing car space once he holds the inside position. I got rammed left and right every time I squeezed up along the inside of another car in most cases.

I was able to get back to B/B, then decided to do one last race.....mistake. I still gained DR by finishing 6th, which is crazy awesome considering I'm used to only gaining a small amount or even losing DR if I place that low in DR.A lobbies. By the end of that race though, I was bumped back down to SR.C basically because of one guy who wanted to make my race hell. It just sucks feeling like you're the only guy in the race who cares about being clean. If I roll up on a slower car, I try to wait for the right opportunity to pass or just pressure him until he messes up, then capitalize. But there's always the guy who comes up behind me being patient, and just feels like he should push through all 2 or 3 of us without regard for our racecraft. So what I'm seeing in these lower tier lobbies is that there are actually a good amount of pretty fast guys who just don't care about being clean, so their DR may not reflect their skill level.....I guess kinda like me at the moment. Ironic, but I now understand the levels and reasons why people might be placed where they are. On one hand it's easier to win in lower lobbies, but if you qualify on pole or top 3, boy you better watch out because some of these drivers seem to just not care about ruining your race even if you are obviously faster. Most common complaint is people divebombing on the inside and using the side of your car to keep them from going off the track because they came in way too hot. They'll take the 3-5s penalty if it means they take out one of the faster guys on track.

Anyway, I still enjoyed myself thoroughly and had some good clean races. Just venting. I look forward to getting back up to the A or B/S lobbies and seeing more of you awesome GTP members there.

@Sven Jurgens : still waiting to meet you online one day ! Although I think we have once met but did not “know” you that well back than.

Aren't you on the European server though? Although I'm originally from the Netherlands, I moved to Canada in '02 and thus on the NA server.

I was in the daily B a few times yesterday (few for me, still 8 or 9 races), and went from A/B to B/S. I had not problem avoiding contact penalties, only one 0.5 sec 'shortcut' for avoiding a car and a 5 sec for getting bumped into a wall. I didn't do that well though, only got to 9th (still not qualifying) and my lap times didn't get under 1::17. So I'm blessed to be back in DR.B for Interlagos :)

I had never driven that version of the track before either, was pretty surprised when that new turn came up in my first race. GR.2 at least made it a bit more fun to drive even though it was only half the track. Nice going flat out through the S curves, yet watch out for people taking completely different lines, which is what I don't like about wide tracks. There were plenty near misses and last second slamming on the brakes when someone is about to intersect my line at a 45 degree angle.

I'm pretty much on every day between 7:30 pm and 9:30 pm. Sometimes a bit earlier, sometimes until 10 pm, then again at 11:30 pm to sometimes 3 am depending on the track / car combo. Yet if you are from the Netherlands and have an NA account then the earliest I'm on at 7 pm is 1 am for you...

Weekends perhaps or when I have time at lunch for a quick race, only when it's raining though.
