I only did one race again tonight, I got the Pole in a room that had a few A drivers and one S driver so that was nice. I also got to race with fellow member @NosOsH for what I believe was the first time. I started poorly though unfortunately, I just couldn’t find my groove and had to let @NosOsH by before the end of the first lap, he’s a fast dude and I didn’t want to hold him up on account of my poor start. After the first couple laps I started to settle in a bit, but the guy behind me in 3rd had already snuck by at that point. I gained some ground on him at times and lost it at others through the rest of the race finishing a few seconds behind him in third and I believe 16/17 seconds behind @NosOsH who took home the Win. It wasn’t so bad after the rough start, I did get bumped from behind a couple times during the first couple laps though but it was mostly my fault I think not having proper race pace for my starting place over the first couple laps. I did hot laps for over and hour before I raced too and was running good in the mid to low 51’s but for whatever reason when the raced started I lost my bearings for a few laps for some reason lol, oh well, no damage done to me or anyone else and I did manage to still finish 3rd so it’s wasn’t all bad. :)

Key is working for the best Q time

Up to 89 down to 78

Some just plain stupid drivers. Clearly they can drive but that Clio honestly catches up on the straight its car not driver. They so eager to try and make moves when they clearly dont have a move to make, lesson learned when you notice a few lug heads repeatedly call it a night.

Wow, I just had a good one on race c. I did 2. First one held 10th. Nothing much happened.
This last one though was a kick.
Started 7 and off we went. All in a lead pack. Soon a couple casualties happened. Then a bit of aggressive stuff into t1, but I held my ground...
Lost a spot after having picked up a couple...
a few more laps...
people pit...
I’m chasing...
I stuck with this a s guy almost until the bitter end. I had a chance on him but he brake checked a bit swerved on t1.
I could have easily taken him out via the punt, but I’m me. I’m better than that...
I almost had him twice last lap when our tires were wasted. Something weird happened on spoon last lap.
I am assuming it’s tires gone...They were over half red. It’s like it slowed the car...Never had that happen ffb felt weird...The grr seemed to be taking this careful also. I almost binned it several times but made it...Wish I could see the times...I was so lost in the chase...
Almost had him exiting the chicane, but he beat me. He got third I’m happy to take a clean race fourth!
It really felt...racy...just so fun...
After while the second place guy was complimenting and I said nice race I was going to write again and I ACCIDENTALLY EXITED ARGH NO REPLAY SAVED ARGH
I’m so pissed I enjoy watching those...No idea what times I was running...where I was who I was what I was doing...
Lol love that. That’s what sport is all about.

Stay thirsty my friends

@Pigems Yes I think that was the first time we've met, good to see another fellow member. Yeah its too bad you werent in your groove yet as you had a better time than me so I was super excited for a tough battle. Even tho you were going a little slower than me at first we were still pulling away from traffic thankfully. Once I snuck past you, I just went all out to make sure not to get punted after pitting.
Next time!
I think this is one of my best combos, Ive been battling and even beating some well known A+ drivers, so this has been a good week so far to say the least.
I plan on spending some time qualifying later tonight or tomorrow as Im able to hit mid 150's pretty easily in qualifying now, and have had laps that were easily .5-7 faster than that but just missed finishing before the race started.
So I wanna go for maybe a 149.7 and cement myself into the top 50-75 this week. And see what other hard battles may come of it as the week progresses.

Yes where you have the track map, go one over and you get it zoomed in with the cars represented as triangles. After a while you will get a feeling for how close you can be to the other triangles. It's much easier than relying on the screen edges darkening.

Add 20 ms of lag to that and bye bye wheels.

Like no race driver has ever crashed before... ;)

I was just pointing something out. Not expecting you to over analyse things what is said...

But close wheel and fair racing can happen in GT Sport:

So yesterday, I tried the WRX again at Interlagos. Improved my quali with a time of 1:32.3. Started my race in 9th, but also finished 9th. Saw my DR yet again drop with 70 points this time...

I've also put in a lap for Race C. Set a lap of 1:49.7. Optimal is 1:49.4, so I can still go a bit quicker I think.

Had a great race last night on Gr.2 in Suzuka.

Started 17th of 18 cars in the '16 GTR. Got into 10th by the end of the first sector and then into 9th by the end of lap 1. Many casualties with people spinning off or being pushed off. I kept my cool, kept nice and neat and steady. By lap 4 I was chasing the leading pack, I was heading down to 130R and gaining on someone in front, went to pass and he defended fairly. I tuck back in and wait it out. He spun off on the next lap and I was chasing down the leader and over took them going into the degner curves. I did one more lap and then pitted.

Came out in 3rd place and started to chase again, started gaining but went a little wide and slipped off the track, dropped to 4th and chased again. On the next lap, I caught up by 130R and the guy in 2nd place, spun off which put the guy in 3rd off line and he outbraked himself into the chicane. Got into 2nd place on the final lap but only managed to finish 5 seconds behind the leader. Very much enjoyed that one and I saved the replay. 👍

I like over analyzing :p

Like at 0:24, penalty for 2nd place, not leaving you a car's width at the apex while you had more than significant overlap at turn in.
0:40 You went off track
0:48 Borderline off track, no 2 wheels inside the white line.
0:58 Contact, would have been 10 sec penalty last June

Just teasing, great driving!

I didn't race last night, tired went to bed early, so I raced last nigth :s. I was up at 4am doh. Oh well great relaxed races at night anyway due to not a lot of entries, 8,6,6,6,3,9,9 entries to be exact from 4am to 7am. Not a lot of competition either yet still fun racing from the back. I won 4 races, rest 2nd place, 6 clean race bonuses (lost my streak when I hit the vaseline smeared kerb once on the way to the chicane) and 6 fastest laps.

My best lap so far is 1:51.277. I usually set my best lap in lap 7 or 8. First half I'm in traffic, and lap 9 the tires are already dropping off again. (pitting end of 5) Just a little tire wear effects these GR.2 cars a lot.

Good to see Dragon Trail Gardens. I'm not sure how I feel about Race A AND Race C being one makes. I'll hold judgement to see which cars they are!

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but off the top of my head last time the N100 was Fiat 500 and the N200 was one of the Toyota 86 versions

At least it gives us a good chance to play with the new cars offline 👍

See you on the Gr.4 race!

What is it caught in a mosh? What is it caught in a moooooosh? Two race Bs... what a freakin fiasco! First race, P6/10 on a mixed grid of DR/BCD SR/SAB.

Race starts and the Mustang in front keeps crawling around the corners and appeared to be blocking me both on the corners and the straits. Added to that the people behind me were stacking up and rear ending me trying to get past. I blew the final corner on the first lap with some assistance and dropped to P10 trying to get off the grass. I could see the mayhem up ahead as people take the same lines they do during qualifying regardless of what's already occupying the space :banghead:. I was having a hard time trying to get a grip on the Merc, it was just not playing ball. Finished P8. The game optimistically gave me a door number of 2 .

SR white, DR dropped 300.

Next race wasn't racing, it was a bunch of mixed SR thinking they were pushing shopping trolleys in a supermarket :dunce:. I started P12/15 on a mixed grid of everything from DR/A-D and SR/S-D. I didn't notice in P15 was the guy I was seeing a lot in Race C last week.

Race starts and T1 was a complete 🤬 fest. From there it was more of the same. I think just about everyone took a SR hit. I finished P8.

SR dropped 10, DR went up about 60. Day 7 on the DR/C road... apparently .

I need to do more running without tcs. I think it slows me down but I get really frustrated when I spin a lot :banghead:.

I feel like driving with auto transmission is easier because I can focus more on steering and braking. I remember working very hard at getting a time of 1.30.9xx in the daily C fuji 2 weeks ago on manual transmission (no tcs). Than 1 did one try on automatic in the same car and I was .5 seconds faster on my first try . I know I am faster on auto for now, but I refuse to switch back because I want to get better with manual.

I just checked my fastest DS4 time @ Interlagos in the Beetle GR3: 1.33.595

What's your experience with the braking on a wheel? It's where I feel I lose the most time per lap.

It took me a little while to get used to the wheel but as I got faster and more consistent I realised it was the braking that I was losing out on. Perhaps it is easier for young players who don't drive on public roads but in a real car you brake easy and gradually (on the road not track). When using a DS4 a twitch of the finger is effectively slamming on the brakes so you don't realise you are doing it. I chose the G29 specifically because it had good pedals for the price and I am impressed. Having watched a replay of a Gr3 race at Interlagos I from a few weeks back however I reckon that to be as aggressive on braking as I was with a controller I'd need to put my foot through the floor. Perhaps I'll make up the speed on being smooth and consistent, where the controller is more point and squirt. If you are not already, left foot braking is of course best...though you are already faster than me.

As for automatic, I drive both auto and manual in RL (for a lot more years than someone who plays racing games should admit) so the thought process involved in changing gear is second nature.

Took the night off due to road rage. Started fresh this morning.

So I thought. My last race I was practically the only non blue SR at the finish. I was so focused on not letting anyone pass. 2 blocks at the first hairpin. 2 block on the last turn. More blocking than I've done in months combined. Unfortunately I'm still raging. Need to get that out of system.

I had some similar races last night. Seems my (slow) Q time is too slow to get with the fast guys, so I've been griding top 5 or 6. 2 races (grid P2 & 3) I got a win and a second. Pretty straight forward, got a clean race bonus in one, bumped a bit in T1 for the other, so no bonus. The other 2 races were not so easy. One I started 5th, had 4th in T1 and followed the top 3 while they passed and bumped and got sideways...but always staying on track They were slowing me down but there was no way around. About lap 3 they all came together in the sharp right after the hairpin and almost stopped, and I had to go wide to avoid. P5 slipped by on the inside curb, through a ghosted car and took my position. Finished 5th with a blue B.
The other was almost the same, but even more pressure from behind, and a couple of bumps on the straights, with the orange SR down that go with them. I was in 5th late in the race when 3 got together in the last corner. I held a tight line and punched it to get by on the left as they ghosted, and unghosted, swerved left to avoid one and promptly looped it. Dropped to 10th, finished 9th. All in all, not bad. DR is up for the day, though I lost about 200 points for the 9th, SR is up to 68 I think. Just below A, so I am working my way back.
May try a C race later. I'm still slow, but I seem to be able to do 53's without a problem, and with my Q at only 52.4 I probably won't have any really fast guys gridded close, and maybe not even in my race, so if I'm smart and error free, I may be able to have a decent result.

Definitely won't need to bother with race C. 17 laps at Tsukuba :yuck::yuck::yuck:

Unless you need SR. Tsukaba is the best place to farm SR, especially in a daily C. Suzuka this week is already giving out lots of SR. Perhaps PD wants to fill up the SR.S ranks. N200 does invite a lot of door banging though. Tsukaba makes me dizzy, I won't bother.

Man, racing in the day is gold, behaviour is outstanding.

Was I too polite at 7.30? It was a race long battle between us, i gave him a nudge on lap 2 and let him re-pass as thought it unfair but was all over him for a lot of the race. At 7.30 I could have gone for it but decided it was too risky.

Thoughts?

Will probably be the Fiat 500 for A, and the Toyota 86GT for C, exactly the same combo's as we have had before. I'll be very surprised if PD give us different cars.

I didn't do enough practice today but I improved my Gr.3 at Interlagos time to a 1:32.099. So close to the 1:31 time that I wanted (We'll try again tomorrow). I improved by Daily Race C qualy time from a 1:52.xxx to a 1:49.920. There's more time to gain but I really am not comfortable in the Gr.2 cars so it will take some time. Anyway, I did 3 races (2 Daily Race B and 1 Daily Race C) and finished on the podium in all 3. Very disappointed with myself on the C race because I would have won the race if I didn't go off the track at Turn 1 on Lap 1. I made the recovery drive from 10th to 3rd while running 1:50 lap times on 6 lap old tires. The goal this weekend is to get my B race qualy time under 1 second from the best time on the NA leaderboard and to get my C race qualy time under 2 seconds from the best time on the NA leaderboard. I ended the day with 9.5K DR and 99 SR.

Edit: I almost forgot. I felt intimidated race A and A+ drivers as C. I'm almost at B but I didn't think I had the skill to race with people with 30k+ DR.

Hey, don't diss Gr.4s  They're fun and easy to drive, even if their straight line capabilities are a bit lacking. Drivetrain variety is cool too.

By the way, which class do you guys think is the most balanced?
Gr.3 and gr.2 before PD add old super gt cars.

I would recommend ignoring the DR rating of the drivers you race against. My DR is about 34k higher than yours, but it's only because Race C was a really good fit for me last week, and I got a lot of wins and podiums. Usually, I'm B.

In this week's race C, I've done a lot of qualifying laps, and can't get any lower than 132.5. You'd probably destroy me if I entered the race, which I'm leaning towards not doing, because I would probably just be in the way and take a beating. DR only represents previous performances, and not necessarily expected performance.
