With sr system how it is now, every time you bump someone ahead of you they will:

a) get penalty
b) get orange sr down
c) drop sr without notification

Don't bump draft.

I was in a NA room last night with one A/S in pole, 2 B/As and rest D/C to D/E.
Let's just say the racing felt like visiting one of them arcade bars in the 80's

Unless they changed it in the last update, bump drafting gets the car in front SR Down for every bump, so it's generally not advised.
Are you guys sure about this? The reason I ask is that I’ve been having people do it to me, and I’m not getting any orange SR indicators, at least not that I noticed. Maybe you guys are bumping too hard when you bump draft?

Regardless, if it is the case that bump drafting results in penalties, that’s a pretty massive fault in the penalty system that should be fixed ASAP.

Ok @Sven Jurgens, it looks like it's just you. I just did my 4th C race and it was all blue at the end. It could have to do with your place on the track. I would recommend setting a medium qualifying time. I've been starting 6th-8th, and I'm no threat to beat the freaks at the front, and I'm not bad enough to fall to the back, so I end up usually only dealing with 2 or 3 other cars the whole race, and have been finishing 4th - 5th, without really being very close to the other cars (normally 5-10 sec. gap in front and behind, at the end).

Oh, and I found out that 3-wide on the Conrod straight doesn't work. I got a run on a guy at Forest Elbow, and at the same time, another guy had a run on me. I was in the middle. I don't know what exactly happened to the 3rd guy, but he ended up not staying on the asphalt.

Well I packed my bags for the misty mountain...Starting last yeah...
I got by one guy at Murray’s. Got another past Griffins who immediately bashed me at Cutting...
Basically guys were over aggressive early and I caught them all.
The fun part was getting behind this Brazilian who was slower than me but knew how to race. I was behind him 2 laps before finally squeezing past on Conrod just into the kink.
See I did not touch the slower driver and the idiots bashing me early did not realize they were not taking advantage of a slower car.
Look I actually use my brakes for a reason don’t just try to bash through I’m going slow for a reason...
Anyway great fair defense by the Brazilian in the Supra, he was a much more skilled driver than a couple of the others in the race.
Anyways running 9th final lap again I pick up 2 more spots between the chase and the finish.
7th sr remains 99 plus 80 dr.
Much red except my blue s and no dot. Happy for that.

Well, i just spend an hour and a half shoveling snow and cleaning mine and the wifes cars, so not much racing before work today. Gonna try to squeeze in some laps at least but hope i can run well tonight after work. My dr is in freefall after last night. I am always slower after work and i am pretty sure the competition is harder as it gets later, but i am having lots of fun trying to improve my knowledge of the ring...

I can confirm 3 wide into Conrod doesn't work, I the other guy bumped you into me?

I have to say thanks for posting this. Though you are definitely faster in a race than I am, I've found that our best laps at the end of the week, at least if I learn the track and get comfortable, are close. I've been using you to gauge what is possible for me, and the vids really help...although I wish I didn't have to convert KPH to MPH. I expect (hope?) to be in the 29's at Tokyo once I can really run some laps. Your vid confirms where I know I was loosing time. I managed to get the gold at the Nord in a GT3, so I'm hopeful to work my way down to a respectable time there. The other one, and at night...I was slow there last time and I'll need a lot of laps so I don't know if I'll have time for that this week. We'll see. Maybe if I run 600 races there. Only about 595 to go!

I did manage to pip you with the Fiat 500.:mischievous: My first top 100 in the region (#77), so that made me happy, though I really wanted a 1:06. Opt. time was a 1:06.8 and neither of my best sectors was in the Q time I set. Oh well. I really want to get top 100 in a GR3...someday!

Well I’m glad to be of help Sir, i didn’t know you beat my Fiat time though!! I thought I sent you a friend request the day we raced together but maybe I forgot too, I’ll check when I get home and if not I’ll send one along. You’re definitely improving you speed a good rate, it won’t take long at all and you’ll be in the top 100 more frequently. That’s always my goal by week’s end, be inside the top 100, though it doesn’t always happen and especially now with the regions back together, it was easier when South America was separated lol. :)

I managed a 1.30.5 in a quick quali session yesterday, but like you said, that wasn’t mistake free. Doing some races, racing against mostly SR A and S drivers with DR ranging from B to S, pole times were low 1:29s, I remember one was a 1:29.1xx, most times were sub 1:30, and my 1:30.5 was basically only good enough for not last. I was definitely able to make up a number of positions in races, but passing at this track is really tough, so putting in work in qualifying will make a big difference.

I'm pretty much in the same boat. My quali stands at around .29,8 but I have surpassed that time by four or five tenths before inevitably getting loaded into the race and not getting the chance to save the lap.

This usually gets me into the top 4 of the grid, rubbing shoulders with aa mi of A's and B's. Usually the pole sitter has had a quali of low 27's which is crazy to me, nonetheless, staying on their tails and keeping it clean is the name of the game. Sometimes you'll see the blessed red above your opponents car, then it's just a question of hugging that bumper.

Oh, that was you? That was a tight squeeze, huh? The other guy went off, in the corner, and I didn't think he'd get back on before I was by him. I knew you were coming, and didn't plan on getting in your way. I was trying to stay in the middle without touching anyone.

The reason I said sorry at the end is because later on, on that same straight, I knew you were coming again and I stayed to the right and lifted briefly, to give you a bit of a gap. When I lifted, you got into the back of me, but I thought you were on my left. I just wanted you to know it wasn't a brake check.

Was that you who had the unfortunate pit road mishap? :banghead: If so, great job of finishing 4th.

I just recently realized that we had "mail" in the forum @Groundfish sent a request I guess, and my settings disallowed it. I think I changed them...Never did get back to him (sorry bud!). I usually post on a tablet, and haven't been able to figure out how to get pics and vids on the tablet to post. I just need to find time to figure out some of this stuff. I used to be pretty good with computers and technology...back in the 90's. Life got in the way and I fell behind. Now some of the stuff the kids take for granted make me feel like a moron. Would be nice to have friends to compare times to. I hate when life gets in the way of having fun!;)

I actually love driving the mountain at night. Just not when it's like destruction derby all around. Get some practice in on the quali though. I'm working crazy hours including Saturday and Sunday but I've stil

I'm working crazy hours, including all weekend, so no real time to get comfortable to race Bathurst at night with any real results. I do love racing that track at night though so half tempted to just set your quali as a target.:p
Oh yeah, no problem driving at night on Bathurst, I just don't believe any good can come from it racing in C/S or B/S. I think you will beat my time on this track. I am really show and can't get 2 clean laps in a row but I will keep trying:)

THose are the two cars I have used. The Lexus has always appealed and the Vantage is the one car where i can use TC2 and lay on the power and just get enough grip and enough slip at Interlagos.

Anyways, the Lexus definitely has better turn in but you need to dial the balance to the front until she is just waging her tail a bit into the heavy braking and dropping section after mcphillamy and before the dipper.

The Vantage gets on the power better an dis a bit stronger in a straight line. IMHo it's the most under-rated car in the game for GT3.

Vantage is my "go to" car and is super solid. Then again, in both Interlagos and so far at Bathurst the Lancer Evo actually turned out to be just as stable and for me at least faster. Only did a couple of laps in the Evo but already beat my initial Vantage times by over a second. May be worth a look for you since you also like the other cars I've used.

I am planning to try the M3 tonight. Yes, much slower and usually on Bathurst with the long straights it would be beaten on speed but I think in the dark it's more important to just keep the damn thing on the track and the M3 is about the best for that IMO.

You posted at the same time as me above. I can string plenty of steady laps...just not in a race.

Well there you go, ruined my perfectly good Supra One Stop on softs by overshooting the pit entry after telling myself over and over how I'm grateful I am that I don't mess it up often.

Quali 2.02,8 which I'm pretty happy with, so I go straight in for another go. Oh wait, no I don't...

God I hate this DC bug. I'm certain it's worse than it's ever been.

I did my first 2 races C of the week today. Got pole on the first one and finished second. Started on 9th position on the second one and finished 8th. Rating was D/B, now it's D/S (so it says on kudosprime anyway)

That being said ... What is it with people flashing their lights like crazy when they're behind ?? I try to race as clean as possible and leave room if the other player is way faster than me. But if you can't pass me cleanly with half the track to yourself .... than be it ! I won't block you intentionaly but I won't slow down just so you can be in front of me. It is a race after all !

Rant over ;)

I'm not sure because I haven't played the newest update, but it seems @Suntek has so it's probably true.

I'm to scared to try a race lol. I'm going to do the circuit expierence for this track to practice the top section. I feel like this is where I lose most of the time and it's the quickest way to practice sections.

Lol., place on track doesn't matter when pretty much the whole room has red ratings. It's the time of day. I was racing in the morning when matchmaking lets in lower SR. Mixing lower SR into the room is a recipe for disaster. As you see I was in 9th at the time all hell broke lose.

The race in the middle had matchmaking restrict the room to 11 people. There I only got run off once and had a good race for the rest with a best lap of 2:03.466 finishing 4th. Only 5 people finishing helped! However the race before and after had SR range from B to S, it's better to simply opt out while the race is still loading when that happens....

I guess qualifying and driving parade style still works, only passing wrecks. My experience this morning was, attempt a clean pass, immediately get bumped off or at the next corner. It was not racing, just people hitting anything that came in range.

Perhaps I'll try again tonight when there are more people on. Nordschleife was nice and clean from about 9:30 / 10 pm onwards. It was a mess before. Time of day makes a huge difference. Yet there is a limit to how much I can bend my life around this game

Time for another attempt on the mountain. 2pm race, kids are home from school (ice day), so watch out for Ontarians on the track. I'm on my old 1080p lcd so will be blind a lot in traffic. At least it's raining and pretty grey outside. A/S to B/S room, so far so good. Starting in 17th. Pretty even mix between, US, CAN and South America. 1:59 on pole. Here we go!

It was clean! Mostly, only 2 red ratings at the end. I actually started in 14th as 3 people got dropped on loading already. I passed 2 wrecks in the first 2 laps, then it was pretty much following in 12th. I attemped a pass on a GT-R (hate them) down the Hill yet he stuck on my right and started braking a bit later taking the corner. I was being conservative there as the distance markers had already been taken out in lap 1 :banghead: I'm not that confident in my night time alternative brake marker.

I was also braking 50 meters too early for Hell corner a bunch of times as I can't make out the distance numbers at night on my old tv :banghead: Better too early than too late I guess. Distractions were at a max, my wife and kids are playing Fat princess adventures on the 4K tv right next to me, constant bickering lol.

I pitted in lap 4 to get a jump on the GT-R, which worked. A no stop attempt in a Ford GT got ahead and unfortunately slowed me down when it came to passing him. Thus the GT-R caught back up and we had 2 more exchanges down the mountain. Ultimately the GT-R's acceleration won. I finished 11th.

Next race is up, starting 16th of 17, A/S to D/S. Slower room although still 1:59 on pole.

The porsche cause all that, yet another driver coming from behind to ruin everything, he takes out 3 opponents!

The Porsche was expecting the M6 to take the proper exit line as close to the outside car as possible. The M6 shouldn't have tried to come back inside between two cars cutting the Porsche's exit line.

For me, the inside car's exit line seems to be the most misunderstood cause for collisions on corners. Just because you're not taking the exit at maximum speed doesn't mean you get to stop mid track and cut off the inside car's exit line. I'm constantly hitting outside cars going two wide through a turn and they refuse to go to the outside edge of the track on the exit. It's so annoying.

I agree 1,000%. For there to be racing, not just dive bomb passes but actual racing, the outside man must leave space for the inside driver to take a clean line.

No worries man, feel free to shoot me a message any time and I’ll do my best to explain the uploading pics/videos thing for you the best I can, I’m no rokit siantest by any means lol but I have figured out the upload thing on this site and the PS4 anyways. :D

It could be just DS4 users using the default controller mapping. The left stick will flash lights if you press in on it. I moved my flash to a different button because I was inadvertantly flashing when steering.
Wasn't aware of that. Interesting to know ...

Except the three i was with you  i swear last night i was just to stiff or something after work. At least when i go off i try not to take anyone down with me or come back on to ruin anyone elses race. I blame it on still adjusting to the hood cam, i touch the grass ever so slighlty and then it's spin city. If it happens again tonight wave as you pass by

Managed to sneak in two A races before i left for work, i mean i was gona be a bit late anyway cuse of the weather, right? ;) got back about 1000 of the dr i lost last night at the ring. Two good races started 5 and 3 finnish 3 and 2 respectively. Both were fairly clean and competitive outings. I still cant seem to get under 1.30 though

Ouch. :ouch: You make that sound pretty bad. I suppose that tomorrow, when I have all day, I should try to find a more competitive car to use than my trusty Beetle. I've always had a good comfort level with it, because it turns so well. It isn't fast, though. In my race, this morning @tps_b86_ 's Corvette curb-stomped my Beetle.
