So I just had my most dirtiest Interlagos race of the week (I guess no surprise since it's the weekend.) Cars being catapulted, spinning out and bumping into each other. It was similar to one of those fairground rides.

I started P9 in the Ford GT. Everything was fine until we got to Laranjinha where the driver on my inside pushed me off at Esse so I lost 3 places. Approaching Bico, a car dived across me after he was pushed off at Pinheirinho. I couldn't brake in time (I guess you don't expect a car to randomly fly across you) so I landed a 3 second penalty.

A few laps later, at Subida, the driver in front decided to go full-on rage mode (he started P2 and was in P10 so I assume he was upset) and threw himself into me at the barrier. Fortunately, he failed at his endeavor and ended up spinning out instead while I regained control with only a minimal loss of speed. On the last lap, a driver decided to burn their penalty at Ferradura and of course, he unghosted right as I approached him so I ended up with an SR down. After the carnage, I finished P10 with a red SR S and only one driver had a blue SR which was the alien at pole.

A shame since the majority of my Interlagos races have been respectful and clean throughout the week. Maybe I'll think twice before racing on a weekend.

And now i start 6th.... and the front four all seem to know eachother, crazy alien conspiracy lol

Another great race. Got up to 5th. I suspect the back field is not so clean as they fell pretty far back again. Got 3 clean race streak going, on a Saturday afternoon :odd:

4 clean now, and i went from 7 to 10 because of a little slip out, and had to fight for it with two other guys. Saw @suprajef up front. I can not believe how good the racing is right now. I wish it was always like this...

Had one race at Tsukuba this morning. Very close and damn hard to keep up.

Started near the back. Almost all cars had QTs under 1:13. Lap times were around the same. Passed by 2 cars/passed 2 cars (I think) 7 laps went by quick.

Pretty sure it was the same race as Dairyworker above.

Did a few races at Interlagos...didn't seem pretty bad but just met a few annoying Japanese players ramming me off track.

Race 1 - Grid P6 Race P2. Someone had a last lap mistake and it was a little lucky on turn 1. Sadly I trailed the winner by 0.5 seconds, but it was a worthy race as the top 4 were bunched up closely and trading places throughout.

Race 2 - Grid P5 Race P7. Got tapped on lap 1 and dropped back down the pack, had to sacrifice a little SR to recover 3 places enroute to the chequered flag. Thank goodness the rammer had a DNF for being an excess source of irritation to the midfielders.

Race 3 - Grid P6 Race P6. Nothing new, got knocked off the track as usual. But it was a smooth and consistent run from the start to the end. I did hilariously run over a stray cone coming into turn 2 due to my wide apex approach, that cost me a few tenths in track position.

Race 4 - Grid P9 Race P5. Smooth start, but a little tricky on the penultimate corner when someone has taken out the 50m and cones. Almost lost my rear end while getting out of there in lap 1. Quite a bit of carnage but I was lucky to escape.

A little disappointing since I've lost a fair bit of SR in the latter three races. But I'm glad that I've cut down my tapping and bumping into others by mistake. I need more practice to keep things in check too.

Yeah unusually clean, I have to start blocking the door now cause they take advantage of divebombing...but got that covered now

Totally digging Interlagos in the Mazda, always been my go to car in the game. I noticed last night that you can get the car absolutely flat out around Mergulho if you plant the front left wheel slightly on the kirb. Amazing car, with over 4k miles I may have to retire her soon though :(
I assume you mean the penultimate corner? Yeah that one is really satisfying to take flat out. The Audi can do it too, but only once in 5 tries or so. The Atenza is surprisingly good at Interlagos, it’s a very tame car as well aside from the snap oversteer that every Gr3 car gets. Also, I’m pretty sure mileage doesn’t have an effect in GTS, so you won’t have to retire her :)

I find the r8 a handful. It rotates too easily for me, plus it’s just hard to consistently balance for me. I’m a Chevy guy. I was goofing around with the gtr also and that’s a very strong car, very fast, but tougher to balance through the twisty bits.
The Mustang is very planted in slow speed corners, and very good through the final turn. I haven’t driven the Dodge much. For me, mr in this game is like hanging a sign out the car saying tap me, upset me, own me.
I find Mustang users formidable opponents at Lagos. I haven’t gone head to head with the Viper this week.
For me, the r8 FEELS like it’s SO FAST, but I am running 2 seconds off what I can do in the Chevy.
Skilled 911 users are formidable, but the majority crumble when they don’t have the draft and line figured out by whoever is ahead.
They get very pissed because if behind in the twisties they can’t take advantage of the handling, and they don’t have the grunt on the straights. The good ones can outbrake me though. That’s my favorite battle in this game Chevy vs Porsche gr3.
For me, it takes so much time to learn one of these cars, I stick to what I know works. Huge respect to users who can switch to other cars, enter up and be competitive.
The R8’s ability to rotate easily is exactly what makes it as fast as it is. It really doesn’t take too long to get used to it and it’s worth the effort. Though at this point I’d wait a bit longer because it’s possible that its BoP gets nerfed this update.

Hmm, good thoughts. I noticed doing some power and speed tests this morning and playing with shift points on diff cars that the r8 has pretty strong power. I kinda hope they do nerf it lol.

Had a couple more good races and then one bad one before taking a little break. Gonna work on my laps for race b and c and possibly enter one if i feel up to pace...

Had to go see my dealer, hot wheels dealer that is...

I know it's off topic but were all car guys here right, and i don't know how to do spoilers with my phone...

Haha yeah the Atenza is forever! I've not tried the r8 there but it seems to be a favoured choice.

I read Famine's article about the interview with Kaz. He mentioned something about a team that comes up with the daily race combos. That got me to wondering if the people on the team actually compete in the daily races, themselves. If not, that's a huge oversight.

*This next part is theoretical. 💡 I'm sure it will never actually happen.

Then I wondered if Kaz competes in daily races, and if so, how would I race him. There's really only one of two ways to go, and I haven't decided how I'd go about it. But now I'm laughing out loud, picturing Sven educating him on the penalty system. I have no doubt that he would do so, if the opportunity ever arose.

Sorry. I'm sitting at work, bored.

Haha no doubt. It started of pretty dirty this afternoon, atm it seems to be cleaning up. The dirty ones quickly drop to SR.B.
These are the four races I did so far:
BXmd.jpg

The last one didn't go so well. I slowed down early, left 4 car lengths to the car in front, still he screwed up, hit the wall, bounced back and took me out. I spun around and by the time I got going again I was left with a 8 sec gap to make up. Ghost failure.

5th race, disconnected at matchmaking :banghead:

Oh well, dirty again after my short break. -14 SR, got rammed a couple times, down to SR.A. Perhaps I'll see Sturk and Pigems later :)

Picture 3 of Sven's race results: An 86 won?! Oh and @QTip8329Wags is in the race, finishing ahead of Sven himself.

Driven by a 'clean when in the lead' kind of driver. His lap times are not stellar so I guess he must have been blocking QTip.

And I got disconnected again at the start of the race. What's going on. 3 times yesterday, second time today already. I have gone without disconnects for weeks, never disconnected when I did all those races on the Nordschleife, and now 5 times in 2 days....

Oh well, further down the SR and DR ladder. Hard to gain, gone in a flash. Back to Elite Dangerous until the next one starts, or maybe starts.

Doh, missed another race. I forgot to sign the DS4 out before continuing with ED. Since I use the same controller, it will operate GTS as well while playing ED. Somehow I cancelled the race without knowing lol.

I hope they don't! I liked it before they upgrade it, but the Porsche was faster, and much more stable. But lacked power ... IMO when I raced GR3 at Interlagos, the Mustang was the best car to actually race. The upgrade to the R8 though made it a fabulous car at Nurburgring F1 track. And at that track, they improved the GR4 special Megane (the one that looks like a race car) and it was fabulous and could avoid pit stops and could thereby compete with the Lambo Huricans. (once again as it evidently was great at that track and they downgraded it); but at the last update, they downgraded that special Megane ... I'd rather if they upgrade a car, then leave it as it is, and if its too fast, then upgrade some other cars ...

The R8’s ability to ...

Do you mean qualifying? I cannot get below 1:32.3xx ... I would be happy if I was in the 1:32.2s ... and I have to lift the throttle a little bit at that corner, sort of entering the corner, in order to keep the car tight and close to the left curb ... the land sort of dips down there ... perhaps my line is wrong, I typically approach that corner from the middle of the track or even close to the curb, depending on how I come out of the previous slow right hand tight corner ...

Edit - Not worry ... made some time after 15 laps after reading this thread, Interlagos in the R8, BB -3, not near my optimal but i'm now happy with a 32.216. Strange thing is I feel I am sub optimal everywhere, cannot get close enough left on entry to the first (left) turn - makes me wonder if I should approach from the middle of the track not the right side or brake earlier or turn more sharply (trail braking there though); never far enough to the right avoiding the track that sticks out on the right just after that first turn (the part of the chicane that makes it a chicane), often too late onto the power exiting that chicane, then again, too late onto the power at the exit at the critical for me next left corner, should have grabbed 5th gear before the next right corner as the motor hit its maximum on the short straight, never quite right enough at that right hander, and the next right hander not right enough etc etc etc. I guess it's the car and the track allow a lot of scope for improvements.

A new person on my hit list. I punted him a couple times to get my SR down fast after he rammed me multiple times getting my penalties already up to 10 seconds. Not a winning strategy yet still 11th and a fast way to SR.B where I won't have to deal with the SR.S idiots anymore. Jeez that last race was a dirty mess. SR.S can kiss my ...

Thanks to mr anonymous providing a target for a quick way down the SR ladder:

First victory on Tokyo.

Pole position wasn't happy with it and punted me in the hairpin then quit. No matter. Penalty free, SR unfortunately going back up.

In comparison only a few red ratings in the SR.B room compared to the SR.S room with only a few blue ratings.

Oh, and he's going to post my punts in a thread, looking forward to it. I kinda missed him the second time yet still got SR Down. It felt good to let off some steam. Back to relaxed driving. (I don't actually have a hit list, can't even remember what I had for breakfast)

Lol again, 13 positions to victory this time. I didn't think I had a chance as pole had a 2:07 quali lap. Not penalty free unfortunately, 1st place turned in on me and scraped the wall after. It was only 1 sec and I was 5 sec ahead at the finish, no need to scrub. This game is not designed for fair racing, any textbooks overtakes shall be punished! But I get to stay in SR.B a bit longer :)

Had a bit of time yesterday to spend at Interlagos. Read a few things about handling and piped for the Aston this time and got my QT down to 1.35.9 which I was quite happy with. I know where I could theoretically make time too. I just need to get better/more consistent. But I've also noticed that as I've got better my driving style is changing and so the cars I was suited to have changed! Which is obvious, but also not.

Anyway, dived into a couple of races. Had an all D P8 to P6 (where I ran 4th for a while), a mixed bag P12 to P13 (where my QT was best of the rest behind As&Bs but I ran P10 for a bit) and an all D P6 - P4 (where I ran P3 for the first 2 laps) - showed me I have pace to be competitive, I just need to focus and be consistent with it.

Also played in the manufacturers cup last night. Nissan from old so ran the GT-R round Tokyo there. Could not for the life of my get a good QT... All D grid but could only get a 1.47.3 which started me in 18th... Made a good start off the line, but a car that was ghosting in the penalty zone unghosted on top of me which game me mechanical damage for a bit dropping me all the way to the back and then some. Thankfully it was carnage up ahead. So I managed to throw in some good clean laps (along with some that contained much evasive action) and in the end finished P14 for 21 whole points! Made some good passes too including one at the hairpin for 2 places on lap 10. I ran a couple of 1.44s on medium tires which would have started me around P9/10 if I'd done that in QT and apart from the front 5/6 who were in clean air for most of it they were quickest laps.

Potential.

Does anybody else find themselves refreshing kudosprime several times on Sundays, to find out next weeks races??? :nervous::banghead:
Yeah, but it seems to be fruitless. Once we've made it this far with no info, it usually doesn't happen until Monday morning.

*Side note; (not to you, banckzy) Threads created for the purpose of naming and shaming get deleted.

That’s where it went lol, I was wondering.

I got bored of Tokyo so I’ve just been plowing through GT League the past couple days mostly, saving up cash for the new cars. Almost halfway through Intermediate now, man it’s boring lol. :)

Yeah. It got deleted right after I posted a comment there about Sven sniffing glue.

I'm not Sport racing, either. Just working on building up the bank account. 👍

Aww I missed

Aww I missed it. I still have my misbehavior saved on my ps4 anyway. He really wasn't worse than the other messy aggressive drivers in that race, it was a shameful race all around, especially for SR.S. What sets me off is getting penalties for other's crappy driving and his name was easy to remember. I suck at punting though and might have messed up someone else as well on my 'attempts'. Welcome to the Tokyo, punts at T1 and the hairpin are a given. I've received at least a few dozen last week.

If you read this, just move on, or punt me next time you see me. Sorry to single you out for target practice but I was tired of SR.S pretending to be fair and clean driving. And PD, ghost punting idiots like me. There's no reason to let me hit someone at 270 kph right at the turn in point of the hairpin. That's why racing in lower SR is better since there the game does ghost punt and swipe attempts.

I'm back up to 60 SR and close to DR.A. Sunday is going to be interesting in SR.B. I kinda want to try to get my DR way past 30K before advancing to SR.A. Save up that 1500 level up bonus just as another pointless goal.

There seems to be a trick or something with the gearbox. During Race A, I'm losing about 0,2 - 0,4s per lap on the straights, even when somebody got on the grass, they seem to be faster on the straights than I am. Has anyone a possible explanation for that?

If they have a shifter they can shift faster than you can with paddles or automatic.

Well, that does kind of suck. But I guess I need to stay away from Race A then, since I'm using paddles. Thanks for the information!
