Need some opinions from you guys on an incident I had at Suzuka today. I started 14th, worked my way up to 6th, but on the last lap, was fighting to keep 7th place when this happened. I got a 3-second penalty and finished 10th.

My side of the story: I'm in the green car. For sure, the car in 8th was gaining on me, but I think he chose the worst place to attempt an overtake. He turned in on me when I was right on the apex in the S turns. If you look at my steering inputs, I was turning all the way to the left and understeering. I was off-throttle, and I didn't run him off on purpose, but I felt he picked a bad spot to pass me. He went off the track, but I stayed on the tarmac and got slapped with a 3-second penalty. He quit the race shortly thereafter. FYI, everyone in this race was S rank SR.

Honest opinions, please. I'm trying to learn. Thanks!

Personally i always try to avoid close racing at that part of the track due to un-predictable braking points from other drivers. However i dont think either of you are guilty. He sort of turned in and shut the door a little but that could be due to a myriad of reasons. Thought you held your line well, i just think it was unfortunate that he couldn't maintain his car as he was sort of set up for a decent move

The grass is lethal in the RSR though!

I found that out the hard way. I had my back wheel on the grass down the first hill, span out, hit the wall and was gifted a 5 second penalty :O.

If you manage to stay on the track, the 911 does fit like a glove. The RCZ is pretty good as well.

A lot of people dismiss reverse layouts but I definitely prefer and have performed better on it than the original.

Totally elated last night when after 15 laps id set a new PB on Race B of 1:59:003 in the Atenza. Also managed to win a race due to starting way higher in the grid (like 2nd or 3rd)

It was short lived however, due to my newly found form, i found myself in 14th against dudes setting 1:55:XXX as such...

Absolute madness, phenomenal times and i cant think for the life of me, how much more i can push that thing. I'm gonna aim for a high 58 later on, but still...Madness!

Gotta agree with the feels for Race B. Easy wins in Race A and not being able to use the Toyota in Race C, was getting annoying. Sold both and then, started a New Game to get rid of my Mazda contract.

After watching the Blancpain GT Asia races over the weekend, I'm just using the real life GT3 cars only. If it doesn't have "GT3" in the name, not touching it.

Indeed a risky place to overtake but, the way I see it, when he touched you he was ahead of you (your front right against his left rear ) . Yes you held your line but he went wide and out after touching you so the game sees it like you pushed someone ahead ... I guess . Hence the penalty. Not much you could have done except a tap on the brake to avoid the contact and the penalty but handing him the position in the process. Strange thing to drive in a way to avoid other people's mistakes so you don't get penalised but .... that's the way it seems to be right now with the penalty system.

Nobody did anything wrong. Don't change a thing. 👍

Everytime i see a gr3 beetle i cringe. Pretty sure all the gt3 cars i use are real just because thats what i gravitated towards.

Viper (wish it was slightly faster or lighter tho)
Vette
Amg
911

Not really gt3 but I use the ford gt and f1 sometimes for fun but I really just drive the viper 90% of the time.

I can't wait for catalunya. Last gr3 race i really enjoyed was race c bathurst. Finally an end to the 2 week reverse circuit Race B.

Technically you had been passed at this point and had lost the right to the apex.

That first contact was a simple racing incident, no one expects you to respond that fast.

However at that point you should have braked a little to avoid the secondary contact here

And leave a car width for him to stay on the road.

You could have avoided that penalty.

News from the DR 1 end..... I had an "achievement" after my last race today. I have participated in 100 races. That's after having the game 95 days, of which I tried a sport race on 38 different days (I think??). All courtesy Kudosprime.

Wins - Nil
Poles - Nil
Leading laps - 0%
Fastest laps - 0

So, @sturk0167, there's slow and then there's slooooow!

But not worried at all, still enjoying it although the punting is getting old. On short races there's no way you can recover from being smacked into the wall. And it really hacks me off the punters often don't get any sort of penalty. Although racing experts may review footage and decide I deserved to get punted....

Edit. Nevermind.

Edit again. I killed the room trying to mess with settings. Can't see how to BoP or turn on penalty zone. Oh well. I ran 30 minutes, no takers, gonna do a C race. @ me if anyone starts a lobby

Pushing and punting people in t1 (race C) seems to be the way to go ! Not made it once without getting in the sand in 3 races. Even worse if you have the outside line. No way to have a clean battle for a corner this morning. First time I rage quit a race since I play this game ! :irked:

Back at it in 5 ....strangely enough :odd:

Edit : Did 3 more races. First one I was put in a slower room...got pole. But that didn't last !!:lol:. Pushed wide in the esses. Ended up in something like 9th. I pushed hard to regain places and finally got 3rd and fastest lap.

The 2 others were somewhat chaotics though I managed to have a great last half of a race with a battle for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. I wasn't really close to the second driver but I was able to hold on to 3rd place 'till the finish line and gaps were going back and forth.

Penalties are still a joke. If you can push another car wide before he gets slightly ahead of you, it's all good .... Or so it seems...

I'm all for protecting your line but 2-3 bumps on an opponent to push him in the sand is not "keeping your line"... .

I did my 2 races today, now I have to sit one out again to get back to DR.B again.

Last race I was in 4th behind an A+ driver for a couple laps. I tried some clean passes yet he counter boosted, blocked, defensive squeezing and all that. Just on the edge of making it unsafe to complete the pass every time. At the start of the final lap I wasn't going to take the outside again. He was driving a defensive line halfway to the inside, I had the corner exit and speed advantage on him (after his squeeze through the chicane) so I wanted to take the inside this time, tired of getting forced out of the way. He last second blocked further forcing me into the wall. His mistake, 4 sec penalty for him. Then he slowed down before every corner trying to get me to bump him.... I stayed back, lost any chance of catching up with second and patiently waited for the penalty system to ghost him. Defend to the death, make sure to mess up the race of the other driver as well.

lol next race, on my slow way to the pit, I hang back, not enough as I'm still passing a bunch of cars in the grass and get punted at the hairpin while behind traffic there. It's Sunday! My car is in the pit now, needs lots of body work, new paint job, new spoilers.

Looks like I'll be relegated to race A again, next week. Race B: bad track for me, and bad car for me. Race C: The more I've raced at Fuji, the more I've grown to dislike it. Sven, I assume you won't be doing much of race C, either.

Sometimes it really bums me out how many good tracks there are, that rarely get used. I know it's been said a thousand times. Sorry. :indiff:

Brand's hatch, brand's hatch, brand's hatch :(

I'll be racing on Catalunya, see how that goes. A and C no thanks.

I have to sit another race out in the pits to get back to DR.B. Started slow, let everyone go ahead, still got bumped off twice by early spin outs boosting back into the field. The A+ driver from before was back, on pole. He better hang on to first for the sake of the rest of the field

Nope, he didn't, finished 4th, left straight away and got called out after the race. I finished 14th despite not racing. Must have been a bumpy race as others were wondering whether this really was an SR.S lobby... Back to DR.B, game off. Try a race tonight see if better drivers are on later.

Was up at 530 this morning because of my dog so i got a bunch of races in. Really good group this morning, again. I have had such great luck as of late. Raced for like 3 hours and was up front all the time with a win or two and all podiums. Put down a 52.2xx in race so i went chasing ghosts after the wife got up. Was able to get a 52.2xx for my qualifying time, optimal of 51.778 though. Will be back on to chase that later today, wife has some stuff for me to do now..... lol

Holy moly!
Just entered up and wow. Little rough from some overzealous S Americans!
I got the short stick after six on the grid, getting taken off before Degner.
Clawed my way back, then one made the mistake of trying to shove me spoon exit.
I sent him to talk to Hasselhoff at 130r. Made it back to seventh...
I’m goin in country one more time...

I guess I just missed you. I did a few races, and the BHR guys were formidable, as always. First race, I narrowly beat Joeraiderfan BHR. Second race, Patrick BHR beat me. All the guys on that team are really good. I'm sure I'll be seeing them about 2,000 more times. Had a good time, though.
