I haven’t found a good point there yet honestly, I still have the cones on. I really need to take a slow drive around and figure out the rest of my marks.
Yeah the rest of the track has a surprisingly good amount of landmarks for every other turn except T1. T1 is a barren wasteland of braking indicators.

No wonder people are piling into each other.

There is a white line painted on the ground near the brake markers/cones I believe, I just haven’t slowed down enough to see if it’s usable or not as a mark. I’ll jump on here in a few minutes a check. :)

Edit: I can’t be the only one who has never EVER noticed markers here before.

Either way, 150 it is. 👍

So having turned cones off after identifying landmarks to replace them, T1 at Fuji is the last place I'm having difficulty with. What's everyone using as their braking point? It sucks that there are no number boards for it on the left side.

There are number boards in Fuji T1. In the top of the left side fence, litle difficult to see.

Now for the race A qualy, I have misplaced one second, can you help me find it???
I think that I got the first sector quite good, still litle too slow on the uphill, sector time was under 30sec
Now to the tricky part the s-curves that leads to the hairpin, all suggestions how to cope with that are welcome!

Watched the emea top 10 replays, and 9/10 was using that ASM....

Nice lap! There’s only really a couple things I can think of that you could try, that was a good lap man.

The main one, this should help almost certainly, kick it into 3rd before the apex of the final turn so you’re not upshifting during the acceleration to the finish line, you wouldn’t think it would matter much but it does, that should give you a couple tenths right there when done right.

You could also try dropping to 2nd for the hairpin, I tried staying in 3rd there too but dropping to 2nd gets the revs up more to start the acceleration back up the hill.

Only other small thing is stay a little tighter to the left on the second last corner, this will allow you to take the final turn a little wider and makes getting into 3rd a little easier before that last apex. :)

Well would you look at that. Awesome! That and the pit merge line for turn in should solve the issues!

I always have my brake markers on the outside which gets me in trouble when a car is blocking the view. I really should identify features on the other side as well. The best brake markers are things hanging over the track. For example, T4 I think on Catalunya, when the bottom of the rear view mirror is about to touch the bridge structure, brake! The worst brake markers are shadows on the track  Most of the time I simply time it from when the gear indicator starts flashing. That's pretty consistent for most corners.

I find that the flag lights (the lights that show yellow or green) are often in really close proximity to the braking cones so you can use them as reference.

Yep, those are very helpful and high enough to be visible with cars in front.

9 red ratings, 2 neutral on Catalunya, lots of red dots. The difference between noon and 5pm racing. I'm on clean race 15 so not going to stick my nose in the middle of a field like that. Not many passing opportunities when there are 5 cars continuously bumping into each other in front. Plus those 0.5 sec penalties are just to troll traffic like that. One of the cars in the pack gets slowed just enough to be a danger to the cars behind. Fun to watch from a safe distance :)

Wish I knew how to upload replays. I got the worst 2 second penalty on second to last lap costing 4 or 5 spots in race C.

The Penalties in C are a lottery. I got so frustrated today that I went into retaliation mode which ripped 16SR down to 83 after one race. But still it felt really satisfying.

I wanted the second one to be clean. Unfortunately you get pushed to the apron and get 1s while the other one gets nothing despite turning into me. I just rage quit. Guess I‘ll be on SR-A or B tomorrow with DR D.

Oh, and what type of genetic defect is it that would prevent a driver from moving his japanese pile of plastic with some metal off the racing line and instead continuing stoically!?

Is noon better than early morning? This morning’s race B was dirtier than yesterday. Bout to get on and give it a go.

It depends on your timezone. At noon all kids are in school in all time zones. Early morning some are playing before heading out. Also early morning the game might put lower SR in the room to fill it up. Play at 6 am and you might end up with A/S to D/E in the same room.

I’m in CST. Mornings for me are usually good between 7-10. As always on any game in the afternoon when they get home, it goes to 🤬

Edit: 1st race of the evening.

Just did two race A’s. first one was a mess, I forgot it was a grid start and was in 8th by T1 after starting 3rd lol, made it up to 4th and then got bumped off in T1/L3. There must have been a few mishaps up ahead because I passed 4 cars by lap 4 that were off the road lol. I made it up to 3rd by the end, White S.

2nd race I got the start down, started 3rd again and ended up 1st coming out of T1, by the hairpin the guy who was on pole was right on my butt and I messed up and downshifted one too many going in, he ended up hitting my inside a little bit and we both ran up the hill with me still slightly ahead. He must have gotten a penalty though because he fell back to 6th at the yellow markers and I sailed on to the Victory after that without anyone getting to close. Both grids had the same 27.8 guy on pole.

Gonna try race C from the back now I think. :)

Edit: Stare at the clock from 8 left to 2 minutes only to realize I didn’t have the car with 1:45 left on the timer. I got it JUST in time.

Edit 2: Then in the rush to get back in I jumped into Qualifying instead of the race and missed it anyways.

Been trying Race A with my #2 account and after being punted around the block for a while, seem to have settled down to some good racing.
Check out the fastest lap times though - it got awarded to the guy in P1 but not sure why? We both did it on the same lap, maybe because he completed it first

I think that's because you're always qualifying and almost never racing. ;)

I've managed to do the opposite on numerous occasions. Wanting to qualify and impulsively selecting "Race Entry" then I end up starting with a ridiculous time.

Another 5th place to keep up my perfect Top 5 Record for Race C so far, but I keep getting together with guys who wanna race for the win on Lap 1 that end up costing us both better finishing positions as the front runners escape. sigh

3rd would've been in my reach so it feels like a loss. I've gotten spoiled with better finishes at this point. Upgraded to DR - B though! It won't be as funny to see a C/S driver surrounded by A/S and S/S drivers now, though.

At least the guys I'm beating and losing to are ranked significantly higher than me.

Went from 10th to 7th in my first try at B. 2nd highest D driver. QT 1:51.ithink1somethin. I like Catalunya but need to find the car for me. Might have to run the SF there for some fun.

He entered the turn too wide, and there are people about to mess up just in front of him, and he barely touched the brakes. The guy behind him probably didn't have the time to react so yeah no real point to complain.
On the other side, if you don't touch the brakes in these situations, you're part of the problem.
But I get it, you wanted to complain about a guy that complains. Makes total sense.

The SF are stupid to drive outside of a super clean and experienced lobby like pretty much all powerful and supelight cars that have loads of downforce. I did not race Suzuka because I tried the campaign Suzuka race on the first day I bought a SF, and I knew that any sport race on these cars would be a crapshow. It could maybe work on wide tracks, or in the finals of FIA races, but not on the regular GT sport mode with regular dirty and sloppy drivers.

Sorry, mate. I don't buy your explanation. T3 is not a hard corner to negotiate, especially not in an SF-19 - and if you have traffic in front of you you only need to feather the throttle a little - no need to apply 50% brakes.

And why are you lecturing me on race C when you - as you admitted - haven't even tried it yourself? I did about 10 races from the back on my American account, and while I did see a lot of people making a lot of mistakes, I didn't encounter the much-talked-about "dirty-drivers" - to me it seemed like people just tried to race.

There is a big difference between being malicious and being unskilled.

You're right when you say that I'm complaining about complaining - I just don't get why somebody plays a game that they feel is so bad and broken that they have to whine and moan condescendingly about it on-line several times a day.

The next race wasn’t too bad, had a couple a good laps of back and forth with a guy before finally getting past him. The second race was rough at times though, up to 10th, spun out back to last and then back up to 6th by the end. One guy finished it with a Red B, and it was a 99/S room.

This is precisely why I avoid dailies like the plague now... I raced with these guys three rounds in a row and it was more of the same but this race in particular was a nightmare.
So many late lunges, shoves and blocks that I eventually lost it and started dishing out my own justice. Cost me 18 SR but worth it i'd say :D
Once I get my DR back up to where i need it I'm out for good though. Not worth the trouble...
