That was to keep 11th? Wow dude, grow up. Glad he was still ghosted for you, thats terrible.

I’ve seen people try this a few times now as well, it’s silly. What do they honestly think they are going to accomplish? They’ve already lost their speed, there’s no saving the position at that point, and holding one other person up isn’t gonna stop the others coming behind that person. It should be an instant DQ for even attempting it.

IM HEATED

He will be in my thoughts.

Race C is so mind numbingly slow and tedious, but it's great for climbing the DR ladder.

If I had the time to do more than one race a day, I'd be back up in the low to mid 20k's by the end of the week. Average place gain is +8, and average DR gain is 440 per race at the moment. Starting at, or close to the back is definitely a lot safer in this race, though getting a lightning start and gaining at least 3 to 5 places by T1 can be fraught with danger.

Track limits are once again non-existent on the final turn.

The .0’s are killing me this week too, I’m stuck on .0 in Race A and C, I ran 4 more laps on Fuji yesterday that came up .0XX without beating my original .0XX Q time, it was maddening.

I’m still hunting that .0 got my race a time to 1:28.272.
Opt is 1:27.8xx.
For that fastest lap, in last corner, I decided to shift to first, instead of third. Nice. What an absolute a55 move. :banghead:

edit: My time puts me in pos 92 in EMEA, so its not that bad as I thought :D

AFAIK, it’s not faster to go wide there in this car, let them run up there all they want and laugh as you pass them down the straight. :D

Great lap man, Congrats!

I’ve messed up a few good laps there with dumb@$$ mistakes too, I figure it’s because sometimes you’re so zoned in on driving that you forget how to drive.

Race A is okay, Race B and C really dull and slow. Drivers are all over track courses and out of control. No thanks I skip it. Im on vacation till new daily race come up next week.

Yeah, the car that was in front constantly ran the banking on the final turn, and they'd lose around 1/2 to 3/4's of second down the straight.

Cool, that’s similar to what I saw in the races I did last night, I haven’t tried it myself though and haven’t seen the newest fastest laps yet either so I wasn’t 100% sure. :)

In previous races at this track, I've always set my fastest lap by going up there. If you pre-plan to go there, your right turn won't need to be as sharp, allowing you carry more speed through the turn, and get back on the throttle sooner. The trick is once you're up there, stay up there as long as possible, which includes driving through the grass where the asphalt ends, rather than swerving back onto the track as soon as you can. The lawn mowing doesn't really seem to hurt the speed.

For this particular race, I haven't really tried any of that, yet. I will tomorrow, though.

I got lucky his penalty time had not depleted all the way yet.

I see this all the time now. As soon as the time is gone the ghost becomes a semi solid object impervious to getting hit, yet able to bump or stop other cars with impunity. The penalty zone is now the most dangerous place on the track. 0.5 sec penalties are the worst as it slows the car in front of you down just enough to be a problem with cars behind you. I rather pull over when a car in front has 0.5 sec and I have someone close behind.

It's still better than what we had before where this could happen at any place on the track. But it didn't take long to get widely abused yet again.
Woooooowwwwww. That's crazy. I still have to post that blocking video. Seriously, that etiquette video of doing things that make you look bad, isn't getting through to many players.:dopey: Players quit the end of the race so fast, they know they're in the wrong.

I feel like changing my greeting to, "If you punt me, I'll remember you....".

I've actually jumped back in Forza7 because, I was getting an itch for my touring car feels.

I have had good races. However, I think players that don't watch real car racing, should watch real life GT4 and GT3. Watch TCR/WTCR/BTCC, V8 Supercars, just to see how drivers follow one another. Yes, there is still shunting and bad overtakes, bumping, etc. Most drivers want to have fun. It's like players don't understand that's the core of... well... "playing".

Damm, now I gotta try it.

Race B is not dull at all, when you're trying to protect your clean streak! I had one race where I literally had to come to a full stop twice to avoid cars that were all over the place

It's a killer on DR, down to 8K now. Giving positions back when cars in front screw up, better let the ones behind pass safely than stay in between. One race I can stretch my legs a bit and almost break into the 1:47 lap times (I could yet not going to risk using the kerbs too much) the next race my best lap time is a high 1:54 coasting through half the track staying away from the laggy chaos playing out in front of me.

It's a good week to set a clean streak record, race B is pretty short and the track limits are consistent. No guess work involved like on Sarthe. But I dare not use my regular brake points when behind another car and at some places going slow makes the car unstable. Always keep at least 3 car lengths distance, brake early out of slip stream, watch that mirror and keep an eye out for a safe place to park when a car comes flying in from behind  The real avoidance simulator.

So I bought one of those Tomahawk cars to get my free daily car quicker(while on pause in a lobby  ), and holy crap this thing is fast!

The craziest part was as I looked back up at the road another guy blew past me, in the same car. Now I gotta figure out how he did it. :)

Thanks, I was holding it down. I only had the gearbox set to 560 though, do you need to max that out?
Mine's just stock. Is it the full, 2,586hp SRT Tomahawk VGT Technology (or "X" - the name varies depending on which menu you're in)?

I said i was taking a break this week, does one day count lol. I got itchy this morning so i jumped back behind the wheel.only did one race with 5 laps to warm up. I was barely hitting 31's before thae race and realised my 30.121is a bit better than i though in comparison to most of my list, with the exception of @Pigems and @Mistah_MCA alien laps. Had a reasonable race and held my spot till the end for a 5th place finish. Gonig to run some laps now before work to see if i can crack a 29.xxx

Definitely go for that 1:29, though!

Dear Daily Race B,

I wasted what feels like the entire day, trying to perfect you; only for you to dangle my prize right before my eyes and laugh in my face. Well who's laughing now 🤬.

Even though this won't last, seeing my name on the Top 10 Stars is an amazing feeling. I had my doubts that I would ever get a time on the board and I started to believe my doubts after it took about 6 hours (yesterday and today) and then it happened. I was gutted to be .006 off of Top 10 for almost 2 hours :banghead:. But somehow I did enough in the first two sectors to not significantly hurt my time after blowing the last 4 corners. There is still time to gain and I'll try my best to improve the next time I'm on GT Sport. Video below but I seriously need a capture card because the quality is absolutely disgusting.

Race b is so so nice I must say. People were driving excellent tonight in my 2 attempts. Wheel on wheel.
This game is so fantastic when pitting diff cars against one another on a great track...There’s nothing more I can say. Shared the second race in game, it was sweet. Mid pack at 99sr seems to be what it always was before the recent run of dirty play. No stupidity. Fricken fun yo!
Picked up some nice dr while staying 99.
Catalunya suits my style. Little slower and more technical, exits critical...It just suits me...
Good luck out there!

I've not been punted as much lately (thank goodness!) and Catalunya is a great place for punting!
Lost the few hundred DR I made yesterday with a silly mistake (not being punted for a change!) which dropped me from P10 to P14 and am back to 1.

Spoke too soon! Whacked off really hard on lap 1 during my lunch break race at Catalunya.... ouch!

Okay, I'm loving the F7 offline real touring car races. i'm hyped again.

This week's TT Cup, needs a Gran Turismo Sport website survey or something. We've had One Make Cayman, Scirocco and Megane Trophy races. Give us the Megane and RCZ One Makes to complete the fwd series. Then, an all four fwd Gr.4 daily. PD, are you all reading this? :sly:

I struggle with this to some extent. I said in my first post on here that I was wanting to drive for fun and see how I lined up against the world etc. But then the bug of competition got to me. The problem is that there's not a lot in the way of recognition for those of us who 'aren't that good'. I will not win that many races in my lifetime, pps, fastest laps and dare I say it in the current lobby environment consecutive clean races seems impossible unless I want to deliberately start and finish last and plod around keeping out of the way. The only 'achievement' I can really track and be proud of is races completed.

Which brings me on to DR. I had two good races at Gr3 Maggiore with a p3 and a p5 last week and pumped up my DR/D to around 1300. But I know all it will take is the first time I actually enter a race at Catalunya with As Bs and Cs I'm done and that bad boy is going flat back down to DR1.

I'm not consistent enough to finish top half every time I race and of course with the matchmaking it's nigh on impossible at the moment.

I'm quite proud of my SR. I will gladly drive clean and slow, but that is so stupid a scale that again you can't really set a lot of stock in that as a status - look at me I'm SR/S rated as a drive, a long with half the world who were SR/E 2 races ago but some how stayed clean for a couple of laps.

So what do we do? The game doesn't give nowt. So unless we find a regional/local league/where we can record stuff and reward manually we kinda end up having to settle for the fact that at least I know I finished 3rd once.

Or do we go sod it, I'm going to go for the win, even if it's a bit dirty and spoils someones day in the process - someone who is probably like me just trying to keep it on the tarmac and enjoy themselves in the process.

I don't know. Maybe PD just need to find a way to recognise and reward you good drivers, without taking away my hard earned DR just because I got dumped in a DR/A&B lobby or a Destruction Derby race I wasn't ever going to win.

</tantrum>
The matchmaking is not good. And it is getting worse because the numbers of players are falling. It would be great if we could all drive with players who are exactly on our level. But that works less and less because there are often too few players. I am DR B, SR S. When my SR is between 99 and 95 I am basically abused to fill up DR S and A races. Then I start on rank 17-20 and have no chance for a good result. If my SR falls below 95 or even SR A or B, I usually drive with drivers as fast as myself. But then the races will be much dirtier. No matter what, matchmaking is never ideal for me. Somehow, the combination of medium to low DR and high SR seems to be rare. Such classified players have a hard time finding really balanced races.
