Race A feels pointless Good for SR tanking if you are so inclined.

For me, that's race B, my SR went down from S 99/99, to B in two races, being hit from every possible angle in every possible corner. Total nightmare

Thought I'd try race b. Not touching it again. That **** gets the worst out of me.
Did a couple of c races. Didn't qualify on purpose. Last to 5th and 7th. Good way to build up SR too. The skill level is all over the place.

My first f1500 weights 200 kg more.
Just see the first 10sec from that video. There is screen captures.
For some reason, game wont reset the power and weight values.
And my car weight was left to 745kg.
So nothing to do with your tough love. Butt thanks anyway
The reason it won't reset the weight is because there's no BOP applied to that race. You can also run with only 50% power. There's no advantages to be gained, and because you may have toned the car down to make it easier to handle there's no reason for the game to reset it (not meaning you personally, but more as in people generally :)). So, not a bug, just another weird little design choice .

I guess I should check the car settings for race C. I signed up for a second attempt, currently loading. Perhaps the prime time crowd is a bit better behaved. I'm starting 11th of 17th :nervous:

Settled on 9th in the end after going up and down a few times. The car keeps trying to kill me but at least I didn't have anyone bumping me this time (after the lap 1 mandatory punt)

Not feeling it for another race, too tired to fight this car for another 15 laps.

I’m Copen alright with Tokyo though, 2:58.899 :)

I can't even get close to that. My fastest lap is a 3:08 and my potential best is about 2 seconds faster.
Because the shift point is set at 8500 rpm. The engine chokes at 7500 rpm.
This might be the cause of my issues.

Monday seems to be my best day, as I usually get a win or two. It was a rather rough start though, as I struggled to get a decent qualifying time for Race B and started towards the back in my BMW M6. However I made up 8 spots to finish 4th; as I wasn't up against a tough crowd. Then I did Race C and failed miserably. The car is such a pain to handle on a controller and I simply couldn't stay on the track long enough. I got lapped and then decided that it was a lost cause and quit. I did it again and started second; only to be hit off at the first corner. I went to the back but I managed to get 4th place as other drivers struggled. Then I did 3 Copen races, losing 2 by less than 0.1 of a second.:irked: I went back to Race C, and because I'd lost a few SR points throughout the other races, I started first. The other drivers weren't very fast, so I won by 41 seconds. Oh, and I also won Race B in my BMW. Hooray.

Damn, Race C has drained me. I might switch to AT to at least ease some of the pain.

Anyway, I did one race. I started P18 with no QT in a mix lobby of DRs from A - C. L1 is truly a bumpathon which seems to be inevitable unless you're in a lobby with saints. I accidentally hit two people off the track. :O Well, I'm still new to this combo so I'd at least hope some don't mind, right? I went off the track twice in total. At Paddock Hill and Graham Hill. So fortunately after minimal practice, I was able to stay on the track for the most part.

I sort of got into a rhythm after pitting and slowly became more consistent as the race went on which is nice. Most of my place gains were because of other drivers flying off the track or when someone was serving a penalty. I did clean pass one driver which I was semi-proud of. He seemed to be on ice skates as well. I finished P9. Overall, not a bad race.

I used TC2 for the first time in a long while since this is a very different beast I've yet to become fully adjusted to. BB was set to +3. I'm likely also shifting in the wrong places so I'll probably end up reviewing some replays or switching to AT. My poor hands are tired.

I haven't read through all the comments here yet (again, this thread moves lightning fast!) but my strategy was racing on Ms followed by pitting and changing to Ms. I don't think I needed to change tyres since my tyres were surprisingly very little worn despite me going off the track. I probably could had bought a few seconds, otherwise.

Did a few race A's last night to start the week off.
The actual race can be quite entertaining, but the effects on SR can be devastating.
Started the night on 99SR, first race got two penalties and ended with 80SR. Following two races were "Clean Races" where i was awarded a measley 2SR increase per race back up to 84. Then in the final race, didn't get any penalties, but still managed to go back down to A rating with 77SR.
I qualified on pole in all 4 races with a time of 2:59.004, but this makes basically no difference since slipstream is on strong, you get overtaken by 2nd and 3rd before turn 1 anyway.

My recommendation to win Race A is to either; try and drive away from everyone else, however this is very difficult since slipstream can be picked up from about 3 seconds behind apparently, or, sit within the pack and be behind the leader coming out of the final corner on lap 2, sit in the slipstream of whoever is going fastest. If you time it correctly, you should be able to overtake the others before the line, at which point they will be unable to catch up.

I have won using both strategies, the race where i drove away, 2nd was able to decrease the gap of 3 seconds at the end of the final corner, to around 1.4 seconds by the finish line.
The race where I slipstreamed on final lap, I won by 0.08

Started the night with DR A SR S, finished the night with DR A SR A :banghead:

Me when I enter the main straight in this week's Race A vs. Me when I brake for turn 1:

I guess I'll try to improve my A time.. time to get some music

There's an update tomorrow as well as the 1st Supra Cup race this Sat. Then a 10 day National Holiday. Very busy week for PD I imagine.

/me sends sturk a keg and a straw........

You sir, are sick and twisted :scared:. I actually found it even harder to handle than it was months ago when they first added it .

I think it's because you dont need to be as smooth on corner exits as Group 3 because of the turbo lag not hitting until after the corner. This is where I typically struggle as a DS4 user.

There needs to be more tracks like Brands Hatch in the game.

I've no idea where I'm going so wrong in my qualifying attempts for race B. I have TCS off, so can't use that slowing me down as an excuse. I'm mostly managing to not spin out on corner exits, certainly my optimal time doesn't have any badly messed up exits. But that optimal time is 3 secs down on the number 1 time, and I'm just not seeing where I can gain anything like that amount of time. I think I need to capture my replay and the number 1 replay from cockpit view to play them back side by side to try to see the difference, including wheel angle at each point. It's annoying you can't see more data in replays like throttle, brake, gear and settings such as brake bias and what assists were used, if any. Also annoying that you can't drive against leaderboard performances as ghosts like you can in, I think, pretty much any other driving game?

Edit: noticed on a youtube video that someone was showing all the data in a replay, so pressed every single button till I found the one that did it!

Daily A is a bit of a joke with Strong Slipstream. It's basically NFS where the faster you are, the more disadvantaged your race is. I was 4 seconds ahead at one point and by the end of the straight the pack STILL caught up to me. At this point the only viable winning strategy is to purposely let someone pass before the last turn and just draft them to the finish. Not a good feeling.

Daily B same old same old. Daily C is interesting. Finally we got a fuel saving race with low tyre wear. Unfortunately first and second corner is always a chaos unless you get lucky.

With the update dropping this week, I might just lay off online for a while. At least the FIA races and Supra Cup is interesting.

Is it the general wisdom that TCS is that much slower accelerating out of corners?
At the slower corners TCS definitely has some pace impact. It prevents the wheels to lose grip so will reduce the powerinput. If you have time to practice without TCS I would definitely suggest you try to. I gained a couple of seconds with this and it gives allot more satisfaction when setting a hot lap and winning races.

I noticed that I can tune the first car back to stock. So bought the new one for no reason
Well, I like the black color more 👍
So used to the BoP settings, that didn't even think about there was problem with tuning

I do need to take back something I said about this car, it's better than I said. Will try to hunt the 1:10 times with it.
Like I said, in the offline f1500 brands race, I could drive times under the 1:10 mark with softs. So little practice...

Apparently they fixed the semi-ghosted collision problems around penalty zones! @Sven Jurgens
I guess time will tell

You're supposed to get a penalty if you block while serving a penalty or soon after...maybe they're nerfing that at first so we get used to thi gs first?

Yep, it's in the update notes.

9.Online Races
 - We have corrected an issue where opponents’ cars were still colliding when they are semi-transparent.

Great news.

If I understand correctly this means no more collisions against people who are serving their penaltys and are ghosted? If so indeed great news!

The race c car is so damn addicting.
At this point I’ve only knocked my time down to 12.8. But wrecking about 347 f1500t and it not killing me or costing me roughly half a billion dollars is great!
By weeks end I will easily have wrecked maybe two or three billion in cars.
I GOT THIS

So far I’ve tried the AMG, GTR, McLaren GTR, Vette, Viper and Porsche at RBB. I don’t know which I like best, Ford GT and R8 are up next, what else is good for this track? This is the best lap so far, the Porsche got it, I was surprised there.

I settled on the McLaren GTR as my fave, but also done a few races in the Aston Martin as well - that handles pretty well. Funnily enough i've not tried the R8 yet - when i see the top10 full of 1 car something in me says 'well I ain't giving in to that!'

I woke up feeling the subtle aftereffects of pushing the F1500T hard yesterday... if I get physical pain driving on a controller then I don't want to imagine what F1 drivers went through back then :scared:

The maintenance session foiled my plans to start the day at 0730. First up was the 0900 race, a barren room with 7 people. My Q time was 3+ seconds clear of P2. I drove away to win by 33 seconds and grab a staggering 65 DR

More A drivers joined at 0930. I lost P1 at the start ( a g a i n ) to a German and then a Spaniard. The Spaniard slowed me down a lot during lap one. By the time I sent it up the inside of turn 1 on lap 2 the German already had a 2 second lead. He pulled away, I reeled him back in... As soon as I got within a second of him, dirty air would kick in, give me crippling understeer and start the cycle anew. The moment I decided to settle for second place, I said to myself out loud: "My only chance is if he bottles it". He did just that at the next corner and I got a free pass into the lead  He made another mistake later and finished P3, leaving me to win by 14 seconds.

The 1000 race was uneventful. I won by 14 seconds again, while the German took a break from racing to qualify...

...and beat my time by a single millisecond!  So at 1030 I started second for the first time this week. I followed him closely until he messed up in the fourth sector of lap 1. The Brit behind me gave chase, but the gap stayed pretty much constant throughout the race. I took it home by 3.6 seconds.

I did have a couple of formidable opponents, but the other players were mostly DR/C and DR/D. This meant I didn't get nearly as much DR as I wanted. Up to 49348 now and taking a break. A good result in a higher-rated lobby should do the trick now...

Edit: Got knocked out of the top 10 stars btw :(

I find the R8 quite difficult to drive, no doubt its quick, but I find the rear steps out way too much. The Lexus is much more stable.
