Some C race questions:-

- why is a B/S mainly clean until you get some A DR drivers in the race?
- why do you get a 5 seconds penalty when another driver tries, and fails, to ram you off at Druids? Happened to me twice....
- why do the non-qualifiers, who feel they have a right to ram past everybody, always prove to be the ones that didn't realise that they had to use all 3 tyres?
- why do people take the wide line through the last corner, knowing that they are pitting, only to find they have cars inside them blocking their way in (not that it stops them trying!)?

Things that make you go "Hmmmm...":sly:

Oof, the SF19 at Fuji last summer was the opposite of that. First corner carnage galore.

I never qualify, for me T1 is where I pass half the pack while they're trying to get back on the road
Can't have first corner carnage at Spa when there's a 1.5s delta to the next car 💡 PD are so smart

Grid start :sly: with false start check just to make it a little worse

TLTR: People are stupid.
Speaking of B/S. They try to lunge me all day in spots where common sense just tells you otherwise

Funnily enough, I'm a B/S driver, and what you describe above is what happens when I have A/S drivers in the lobby.

You wanna talk impatience and lack of awareness.............go against some A drivers. Sneaky little buggers!

Man.... couple decent races so far, but weird contact penalties and big sr downs from them. I am down to srA for the first time in probably a year or more. I am not even mad, just confused really. Minor contact that affects nothing - 5sec and 10 sr down like what the hell man

This one always boggles my mind at the stupidity and lack of awareness on their part. Like buddy......we’re right on your bumper, if you are putting, take the right inside line otherwise this will be a mess.

Problem is they want to fly into the pits as fast as humanly possible. Could also be guys running a camera angle without a rear mirror and they are oblivious to all other indicators.

People are uniformed and do not like to read.
Last Race C (B/S Lobby) 6 of the Top 10 finishers had 20.000 Penalties

If you look slow, they just go for it. People are impatient, no matter B or A.
Most problematic for me when I was on Mediums to start.
The best strategy IMHO, but you get into endless defending or lunging.

I Third that.

But I'm seeing lots of blockers in Brands Hatch too, dancing all the time through the track. And they get mad when you push them.

I qualified on hards, get to start in the rear. Even while I'm still on hards in the beginning I make up places. Then on lap 3 or so I pit for meds.
It's a fun race, for sure.
Yesterday I was still getting used to the Track, and drove extremely cautiously.
Still got around 10th. 3rd race in, everybody wiped each other out, and I won.

Today, I think I know what I'm doing, but spin 80% of races and do worse.

i got dropped to A/A after getting a couple ptly of peple re- entering the trac

I have found generally (as a C level driver) once I'm on the border of going up to B, or when I was on the border of C,the drivers are worse, My theory is normally that they've dropped a few points during their session, and they're on the cusp, they know it and are getting frustrated.

Rather than calling it quits for the session they keep pushing through this.

Had a good day at Brands yesterday, did three races and lifted my DR to nigh on 15k. I only achieve this level at the Nurburgring or Bathurst. Was all good clean racing, few mistakes here and there but nothing untoward.
Enter tonight, totally different mindset from a lot of other racers compared to yesterday. Barging and pushing seems to be the order of the day.
I've seen better racecraft in mid C group than I've seen so far tonight.
Heading back into battle, not going to be quite as polite this time

Just another example of impatience. They feel they are a little faster and go for it.
The second effect is (I guess) that you start further back when you're going up. That has always spelled trouble.

Speaking of trouble, if you see 666 behind you, you would want to get out of the way.

Last night I was running @Pigems strategy and it was working well. Even on lap 1 when everyone was on cold tires so the hards didnt make much difference. Got to say I enjoy the race but just seemed to struggle getting matched with a couple of regular punters I know.

Did really enjoy 1 A rated driver in my lobbies who I have had great races with before. Had a couple of passes back and forth as I struggled and got punted back or we matched odd laps on tire strategy. Was so good to know I could trust them and had several close corners as either of us was going by the other. Some comfort in the chaos.

Seemed weird that my Monza races were cleaner for me than my Brands ones. Debating whether to try C again tonight since my first race last time was so good.

I Third that.

Some people aren't blocking, they are just slower. I was in a room with A+ drivers and I'm B. Naturally I am going to be slower but they felt as if I was blocking. I will go back to one of my previous comments: If you are faster than me, go around, not through me.

Keith.

Agreed, that’s the nature of Brands Hatch. Making a clean pass is very tricky and usually high risk as the room for error is tiny.

You also have to consider the different strategies.
If a driver on Softs is unable to cleanly pass one on Mediums, he can safely be considered an Idiot.
The guy on mediums is not blocking, he is probably driving as fast as possible... and he probably has to defend into most corners to avoid being punted wide by the idiot...

Yeah, I'm not talking about your case in particular, if the driver is slower but keeps a clean line or use one defensive move, that's fair and you can't force. The problem is people who keeps changing line lots of times to block the passage, moving agressively doing so.

I get that. But the way most people are racing these days, I'll take a little blocking over getting punted any day of the week. Eventually they will make mistakes and you can get through.
