Only the sensitivity makes a difference and I'm not convinced it's a huge influence though I should probably put some more time and effort into testing it.

This is a really tricky combo on the DS4, I can't see a way I'll be as close to the fastest time as I usually am. Currently about 3% off which isn't going to be good enough. Will try everyday just to see if grip levels fluctuate like they did last week.

...Fluctual grip levels? What do you mean. Is it like a Q-time will be faster towards the end of the week? I can't imagine that.
 
Laguna is cool, but difficult.
I feel disadvantaged there since many know the track from other games...May not race this week there judging by my abysmal qual session on alt late yesterday...I never did put in a clean lap with pace...I launched off curbs a lot...
Race A and B look great, I will try C if I get time to get cozy there.

I noticed I was the only player using MT. My TCS3 was active and I used the Overtake button. A few players had no TCS and some didn't use the overtake at all. Especially a player I passed towards the end of the race.

Is using AT the norm? I only have a DS4.

This inspired me to try MT for the first time - and straight away I took over a second off my best lap time!

Loving it, Race A is the ideal place to start with it too, only need 3 gears, one of which is hardly used - and MT changes everything, how I corner, everything.

Yea, I’m a noob, whatever.

I've struggled a bit there too so far. That's why I haven't raced yet. I put up a mid 1:08, but a second faster should be easy if I make a lap without a major mistake. I was stuck around 1:12 before I decided to really push brake zones and corner speed. The damn thing is so fast, and the corner speeds so high with the right line, that it took a bit to get the timing close. I can see my times dropping fast if I can get a rhythm going. Definitely have to keep the concentration level up and the driving crisp.

Isn't the pitstop just behind the line, so you could pit for hards on lap 15 and still make it.. i know it would be a cheat, just wondered if the game handled these situations better than FIA?

I think if you pit on the last lap you just drive through the pitlane without stopping, on the flip side you can't pit on the race start, it resets your car at the start line a lap behind.

The timings tough at speed for me until I have the track wired. So far I’ve never been competitive there in any class, so I’m going with the ‘learn it in a fast car method’
 
For anyone having .. sausage problems... try waiting a few extra meters to turn in. With the right line you're basically unable to hit the sausages because the car literally can't turn fast enough to hit them. It's a common problem drivers have anyway, braking and turning in too early and getting bad exits, so a track that helps you work on it is kinda awesome. :)

I think I know the Laguna track well enough, but I just can't get comfortable with pushing the Formula car to its limit.
I remember when I was a car salesman, I was on a test-drive with a lady, and she said she didn't like the car because it was too responsive.
At the time, that didn't make any sense to me. :boggled:
I guess now, I kinda feel the same way about those SF cars. :lol:

I suppose I'll try some B races, later. 👍

Thinking more about it, I suppose my reactions may be slower than the people who drive the fast cars well. :O

I've got Turn 6 down perfectly in qualifying, but in the race with dirty air, it's almost like a different corner every lap. Sometimes I can take it like qualifying with just a quick lift and turn, other times I have to lift at least 1 second before turn-in, and other times I find myself having to tap the brakes.

Definitely all that type of stuff factors in, combined with fov and setup of wheel or ds4, track knowledge, mental state etc etc etc. wish the car would hit apex when I say to, accelerate when I say to etc etc etc

3 and ... 10? the second to last corner, anyway, are my personal bogeys, I am forever turning too early on those two.
 
Here's a funny clip. This idiot almost got me at turn 1, but I pulled a Matrix move on him (thank you, radar 👍). Instead, he got someone else. Next turn, he got another guy. A few seconds, later he got me.
Well, that was enough. I decided to take one for the team, and do everybody else a favor. :lol:
 


So I made this because I needed to ease off after being held up by lapped down cars in multiple races so far. I did this instead of sharing my anoyment about drivers not respecting the blue flag and giving my car dirty air for a while.

In all racing I know off Blue flag means that you stay on the line so the overtaking car can pass in a safe way. Not get out of the way...

I hopped over them a dozen or more times & they only bucked me off a couple of times.

They don't tend to ghost either in RL and try to draft inside your car blocking your view when they ghost back through you :crazy:

It's better than the alternative, even though some people still think they can crash cars that have already lapped them :lol:

Depending on the racing series it depends, but in Super formula it works like this:
As soon as a car is caught by another car which is about to lap it during the race the driver must allow the faster driver past at the first available opportunity.

Page 12 2019 JAF SUPER FORMULA Sporting Regulations 12/31
If the driver who has been caught does not allow the faster driver past, waved blue flags will be shown to indicate that he must allow the following driver to overtake.

I mean I can respect that. In GT-Sport, it only says "Give away to faster cars" on the top of the screen when you get a blue flag. So if they decide to keep their racing line it's fine, but I find it really anoying in cars like the SF where dirty air is an obvious problem. Because of it, I'm losing more than a second per lap because they dont wanna let me by. It's like being penalized because I'm going too fast on the track.
