My new theory about the penalty system is that Kaz must be a really dirty driver. No one dares to tell the boss hy should clean up his driving so they adjust the penalty system so the boss doesn't get penalties. That's the only possible explanation left.

SR.E is a good place to race since side swipes and punts get ghosted. It's so much better than SR.B, a lot faster as well. SR.B you have the slow malicious back, in SR.E the pace is about double that in SR.B with a lot of clean drivers to race. Unfortunately you automatically move up to SR.B again where you have to assume everyone is dirty until proven innocent. No clue what SR.S looks like, I was there only briefly at the start of the week. 3 DR resets so far today, pumping those DR points into the void

Or he really likes car wrecks. And is manually inserting trouble makers into each lobby. For laughs.

It's what I'd do.

And this is why we have such a wide array of choices in Gr. class races. I used to post my best QTs in the Corvette in Gr. 4, merely edging out the Viper. But as the BoP has been adjusted to the levels they are today, I find the Viper to be slightly faster than the Corvette on most daily race combos. In race however, all of that handling concern goes right out the window.

I don't regularly drive either the Viper or the Corvette, but I just found the Corvette better for this particular combo with my driving. That said...

I don’t think I tried the Jag. I ran that same time in the Viper tho.
I have always been a big vette fan, but I was much faster in Viper on this particular combo on the morning I ran qual.
Once I turned TCS back to default I was able to get 56.5.
I was stuck at 57 until I realized for some reason I had tcs off completely.

I am doing 56.5's in race with the Jag with TCS off. It hadn't occurred to me that I might be quicker with TCS on for the Viper (I'm generally slower with TCS on).

I can't quite fathom how everyone is doing much better times in the FF's. Usually they are my go to for qualifying because they're so much quicker but I just find they have too much understeer to get a really good run out of T1 and the right hander at the end of the esses.

One race I’ve done and I would have gone 3rd to 1st lap one in that right because those FF are HORRIBLE there with the understeer. Instead the guy in first tried to run me off the road and ended up in fifth or sixth after I introduced his RCZ to a planted pony car...that let the tt get ahead of me in my race...I chased him down but meh. Bad vibe before completing lap 1? I’ll stay clear...
I haven’t tried the Jag...The Viper is just soooo grippy, it’s fast over one lap, but a bit touchy.
The Stang has always been one of my favorites. It’s a go to. The most consistent car, tough to get a one off qual lap in but easy racepace once you get a feel for it. Slow and smooth is fast in the Ponycar.
I’m sure if I put in time in Jag Stang Viper I could run quite well. I’m just having a hard time getting into that combo when it’s gt3 cars on Nurb 24.
No qual is quite satisfying, I’ve made a few podiums...95 percent war of attrition stuff.
I’ll be going back in in about another 45 minutes.
B race is fun yes, but knowing myself and knowing that combo...I’d rather Sunday smooth the Nurb race from last then get competitive right now.
If I went full Monty on B it would be a bloodbath because I dislike bandwagon ff players greatly, especially if they disrespect me in race. Lol
I’ve been enjoying being back above 90 where I feel good.
Right now I’m not in the mood to go to the mattresses.
That is something I reccomend everyone do once in a while tho.
Just go to E E and fight every other car. Best way to learn racecraft and awareness imo.

For T1 and the TT, I am braking right before the ambulance and dropping to 3rd gear. Aiming for a trail brake into a late apex and starting to put the power down just a moment later. 56.7 now but optimal is around 56.4... typically fail to nail one of the other two braking zone turns if I smash T1.

Race C this evening - started 7th and ended up on the podium. This track is more about survival than anything.

I do not understand how people can post a sub 8.30 qualifying time (I've only managed 8.35) yet not be capable of navigating the first corner?
Are people getting ringers to do their qualifying for them?
Or are people sabotaging their ratings?

It's possible. Although I for one do a Qualifying lap whilst waiting for the grouping to start, as I've been trying different cars in preparation for next season.

According to the time triallers you can't race on the Nurburgring

Amazing! Just watching that made me feel good.

Haven't had as much time as i would like this week. Good qt for race a and three great races there the other day (vids will go up this weekend) started to run the ring yesterday, just some q laps for now. I almost never drive race cars, and it's painfully obvious. I know and i love the nord, but was having a really hard time getting my way around. I just don't understand how to drive these cars. Started to get a feel for it after a bit, put down an ugly 8.24.770 with an optimal of 22.4, with only two laps done. If i can get a better feel for the cars, i can maybe break under 20. I just don't know why i can attack the ring in the widow maker, but have a hard time with a gr3 car.....

I’m not the best on the Ring, but I really find the m6 BMW to be nice to drive there.
Tcs3 it eats curbs bumps...I feel like it’s really good to use there...It’s got a bit more steering lock to lock which helps with forgiveness...Tons of power and torque tho so even with tcs3 gotta be careful with the loud pedal.
In race it’s very very strong...I just feel like it’s made for this combo...
I’m not one who is good on Nurb who can try crazy stuff like gr3 mr. I run all the aids.
Turned an 8:25 yesterday lap2...I think that’s my phone in race so far this week...
Good luck (did I mention you should give m6 a try? :))

Edit I really feel the 911RSR is a poor choice for anyone whose not a borderline pro on this track.

Iwill try it tonight, thanks for the tip

The 911 is actually a really nice car for this race, you can push it pretty hard without being punished because it's so well balanced (not like the other MR cars which get snappy). The M6 is a nice handling car, it doesn't understeer as much as the other big boys but the wheelspin can be vicious out of the slow corners (at N24 I guess that is just the hairpin at the start).

Just to make sure people cant take it too seriously here is another goofy cone clip, while in the middle of a tight 4 car pack for half a lap now.

Were you not tempted to come off the brakes and drive under him

Gee the penalty system is brutal. Was having a god old battle with a very predictable fellow racer so I could really hug his bumper, he got the wobbles at the top of the hill and eventually lost it, sliding into me accidently. I copped 4 seconds. Then later in the race I get hit at T1, I then hit another car who goes off and I get another 4 seconds. SR from 83 to 52. Man.

I am piping this in as I start C from last...Going against great odds requires a great tune...Enjoy...

My response is that you are extremely fast on controller...In EMEA you race very high up the food chain. You are faster than me on my wheel setup...I agree the RSR is the best of the handling cars as far as hot dog handling, but it lacks power, it lacks stability over curbs, it’s the number one car I see crash in every gr3 race I ever do.
I agree and have already said it’s a weapon in a pros or near pros hands.
How many players are pros? I know I’m not,
So IMO for NON pros the 911 lacks both stability and power compared to other available cars.
I’m just a proponent of stability and power over hot dog handling and driving on grass, and high risk and taking others out or not slowing for traffic just making a way through regardless of slower people’s race enjoyment. I advocate sensible play and respecting others.
When I comment on cars it’s directed at your relatively average guy.
You can do what you want and usually do. You are very fast (a lot faster than me) but we have different play style definitely, and different taste...

I haven't raced this week since I'm not s huge fan of these tracks. I sure wish Alsace would show up in the rotation more often...I had a lot of fun there last week.

It's weird with the number of tracks in this game that the same handful show up all the time and a track like Alscae shows up once every 12 months or so.

Next week:

Race A: Gr.4 (FF probably) @ Autopolis | 4 laps | RH
Race B: Gr.3 @ Maggiore GP | 4 laps | RH
Race C: N200 @ Suzuka | 8 laps | SH | Tires x16 | Fuel x4

Man! Autopolis again? 2 times in the last few weeks including one with Ferrari GR 4. And Suzuka is almost mandatory for PD.

@RacingGrandpa
or anybody wondering

I was looking through some old replays and public sharing them in game. I shared 2 races in particular from my main.
Search tag under discover is ‘fish’
One was Seaside A plus 99 me in the gr4 Ferrari vs 2 A plus Vipers. That one was great.
I also shared a top split FIA from Autopolis (if you watch you can see me pass Lester lol).
I used tcs3 top split and did quite well there, really took advantage strategically there. Probably one of my personal top 20 races ever...
Really great races for me, search tag:
fish
Autopolis is always good imo. There’s one no qual I shared from the gr4 Ferrari one make that was pretty good too on alt.
I always enjoy watching replays, and really enjoyed your race on the ring @RacingGrandpa.
Hope you will get some entertainment from 1 or 2 of my shares...

I look forward to watch those!

To be truthful I was waiting for him to land on my car, I get a penalty and he drives off not knowing where the hit came from.

That was a great race all up though. Couple of close battles lap 1 that then got spread out, closing again for some tight pack racing for most of lap 2. I only ended up picking up 1 spot out of the group, but all fun and clean so it was well worth it. Even got 2 proper racing passes in on some tight sections with good clean drivers. Fun Friday night was good all around.

I want to say to all of you who can do the Nurburgring without crashing, I salute you. You have the memory of elephants.
Nah, just lots of laps. I tried explaining it to my son yesterday when he watched me. I cant find but a few major corners on a map, have trouble describing where something is. But when I start a lap I know what the next 3 or 4 corners are by where I am. I sort of dont know the track, but I do. Like driving home when i lived in the country, i would struggle to give anyone directions they could follow, but can pretty much drive there by what things look like.
