:D, I wouldn't blindly believe in Kaz that way, since he's not the only one in charge of the decisions at Sony so what he mean by "adjustments" can completely change what he just said, otherwise, we would have a japanese release by march. Crazy executives can interfere in the game in the last minute of 2nd extra time.
You sound like you know more than he does....

Doesn't matter how old the thread is. If there is a search function, why not use it then. In this way we avoid having to 48 threads dealing with exactly the same subject?

It depends on the forum really. Some actually close old threads automatically and ask you to start a new one to continue discussing the subject. Others move old threads to archives. Since this thread was not locked or merged yet I think bumping really old threads isn't necessary. It would be nice to have some clarification from the mods though.

Yeah, if a search yields an old thread, you should read it and, if you've more to add / issues to raise, summarise the thread's main points in the first post of a new thread - simply as a continuation of the discussion.

Etiquette can be so tricky sometimes, especially with the cantankerous old men of the fora... :p

Really? I didn't mean to.

I'm just pointing to the fact that everything in GT5 still a mistery, and Kazunori-sensei isn't in total control of the situation, and I guess everyone can see it since Sony owns PD and pulls the strings to wherever they want, so the final decision of such an important feature like damage will have the influence of Sony for sure.

I'm praying to have a superb quality damage, but a little bit of skepticism don't hurt anyone. :sly:

Sorry if that was offensive in any way, if was, there's no intention from me to do so. My bad, as you can see my english is not that clear and readable at all.

Kaz is one of the "heads" at SCE so no, other execs won't just come in and tell him what to do. It's his game and people at sony know better than to mess with his vision.

Thank you for digging that up. I was contemplating doing that myself with the continual chatter about damage.

My post was rather illuminating in the potential issues Kazunori would be facing in getting various levels of damage approved by all car makers. And then there was dealing with SONY Japan on the other end. I recommend you read it before you go all crazy with demanding simulation damage that requires a Cray One to render. The hypothetical scenario covered in the first post lays out what I bet Kazunori Yamauchi and Dan Greenawalt both have to deal with in getting car companies to see things their way. And now with our Obama administration taking over car companies, I bet the situation is even more snarled.

Yeah, I'd like to see hyper realistic damage - as an option. But considering how well even Forza level damage works in game terms, I'd be happy with that. I'd really rather see a half damage system applied to all cars, personally, but as with all things GT, I'll take whatever the sensei can deliver.

I've said "interfere", not "giving orders". Tenacious said exactly I was trying to say, car manufacturers will influence the game as well as sony, so sensei's vision can be slightly changed by many forces in the industry. Besides, I'm with Kaz in whatever he makes for the game, he said many times that he would only put damage in the game when it feels realistic, so we can hope something good.
